| 2. | Comments by natni [Rating: 7/10] self motivation...
combination of sadness and happiness..choosing path of life...friendship..one-sided love... |
| 3. | Comments by akitsu [Rating: 3/10] The cast was much better in the movie. |
| 4. | Comments by x_XJules [Rating: 5/10] entertaining at first kinda gets old. I was watching the anime as I watched this and I think i just got bored of the story. |
| 5. | Comments by atheon [Rating: 8/10] May 2008: |
| 6. | Comments by aiscess [Rating: 5/10] I never read the manga nor seen the anime, that's why I can only compare this to the movie. This is "as good as it gets" for me or should I say, should have been for me. But it seems like, because the screenwriter was from ProDai and Toma was from Hana Kimi, they were trying to do the same formula as those two successful series but it turned out differently and the ratings had proved that. |
| 7. | Comments by liquidlzero [Rating: 8/10] not bad at times it does get a little slow but still a pretty fine slice of life drama |
| 8. | Comments by chokakoi [Rating: 5/10] Yawn~~~~ Okay, it is not that terrible actually. Just that the pace get really slow sometime. There is plenty of room for improvement. The story is good, just that I felt the script is not well written, hence the slow pace. |
| 9. | Comments by Akiiness [Rating: ?/10] If you're going to watch this, I suggest watching the anime. DROPPED. |
| 10. | Comments by lynn [Rating: 7/10] Download |
| 11. | Comments by g_hunter1 [Rating: 7/10] This drama feels a bit draggy sometimes. |
| 12. | Comments by Di@na [Rating: 6/10] well becaus eI love Toma and Nari I started to watch this Dorama. The 1st episode is not that bad, but its not really touch me. I will continue to watch it till the end and I hope it will get more exciting soon.
Wait and see ^^ |
| 13. | Comments by m.a.s.o.n_19 [Rating: ?/10] ....Watching |
| 14. | Comments by ishikumi [Rating: 7/10] a tad on the boring side, but it picked up in the later episodes. |
| 15. | Comments by williu [Rating: 6/10] The first few eps are okay, but because of the insanely bad acting (or rather, bad character) of the female lead and unrealistic characters (in a bad way), it just doesn't cut it. The only positive things about this drama are the sub-plots. |
| 16. | Comments by sonychak [Rating: 7/10] It was okay... I did feel like it was a little slow though. |
| 17. | Comments by jessiesoon [Rating: 8/10] i love the comic n anime...tho the love story is kinda tsurai!!
and takashi kashiwabara look so hot in the drama!!! |
| 18. | Comments by tachan [Rating: 6/10] cute, but a little boring. |
| 19. | Comments by marspeach [Rating: 7/10] Not bad but not that great. Many boring parts and sometimes the character interactions felt a little forced to me. But it also had good and funny parts. |
| 20. | Comments by Fye_D.Flowright [Rating: 4/10] I can't finish this drama. it is totally worst for me. I love Toma but I hate to see him acting in this drama~he is a great actor but this drama is not suitable enough for him |
| 21. | Comments by suzzy [Rating: 7/10] going good
touching happy and sad moments so far |
| 22. | Comments by dekatrain [Rating: 6/10] I can see what the director and producers were thinking by bringing Narumi Riko (16) - a talented young actor - into the role of Hagumi. However, that lively youthfulness they were hoping to transfer onto screen in reality was contrastively replaced by a dull, lifeless perfomance. Anybody who has seen Aoi Yuu as Hagumi (probably in her best performance) in the movie version (worth a watch by the way) will know what I'm talking about. Imagine what the likes of Ueno Juri could've done with this role. She would've nailed it out of the park. Apart from that, the story is also incredibly slow, despite the lovely, laidback setting of artschool. Narimiya Hiroki is excellent as always and frustratingly so, because he is ALWAYS the standout in his dramas (stand up, kou kou no kyoshi etc.) and is somehow unable to get a proper gig as a main character in a drama. Overall, a bit disappointing and could've explored much greater territory as both a love story and a rite-of-passage drama. |
| 23. | Comments by Nermal [Rating: ?/10] Currently watching, will review when series ends |
| 24. | Comments by natzumi [Rating: 9/10] I liked the casts, the acting and how they were well selected - looked alike the characters in anime. Although the anime does more justice than the live action, which is often the case, I thought that the producers really tried to kept the plot closely to that of the manga/anime. Definatley watch this if you like the manga and the anime. Highly recommended. |
| 25. | Comments by Shachihoko [Rating: 7/10] The first half of the show was in such a slow start.. Kind of dull and a bit hard to keep going. At least I forced myself to watch it to the end. The other half was enjoyable which is a good thing.. Toma did well on his role, I find Yamada and Morita to be very annoying. Even more with Yamada still keeping going after Mayama, after when she was rejected and trying to move on. |
| 26. | Comments by adrxuan [Rating: 8/10] I like how the love triangle goes..normally love triangles are boring but this is actually nice...and toma is so cute in the show....he can be all serious but he cant be so funny in the show too... |
| 27. | Comments by Jhvx [Rating: 9/10] Quite good, good plot, and very good cast!!! Not the best romance drama I've ever seen but it's worth enough to download |
| 28. | Comments by Paine_kun [Rating: ?/10] Currently watching it.
2/11 |
| 29. | Comments by moonchyld [Rating: 6/10] started watching for Toma.. and the rest of the cast is pretty famous - its even got Kassy in it! the story is too dragging though, and it was almost painful to finish it.. could've done better if more elements were added to the story. |
| 30. | Comments by suomi90 [Rating: 8/10] currently watching, some funny moments that save the whole drama. |
| 31. | Comments by nienna [Rating: ?/10] still watching... |
| 32. | Comments by mizz_evy [Rating: 7/10] i give it a 7 because nothing to me really exciting happens. |
| 33. | Comments by Hinano [Rating: 5/10] I never really liked Honey & Clover but the drama didn't really help me like it any better. Actually the ending was so open ended and not "fulfilling" I wouldn't recommend it anyway. |
| 34. | Comments by sw33t_laydee [Rating: 8/10] It was good. I kinda like the anime over the drama but acting was done beautifully. |
| 35. | Comments by wanderingfish7 [Rating: ?/10] No good, the leading actress ruin the whole thing. I gave up at the 4th episode. |
| 36. | Comments by strawberrynkiwi [Rating: 8/10] I didn't even realize the ending was the ending. It feels incomplete, but it was a nice drama. I really like the paintings that 'Hagumi' paints and the art directing. Other than it relating to me being in an art school, I thought the story was lacking. I love the Ayumi-Mayama-Norita triangle though. The closing video is always fun to watch. |
| 37. | Comments by phlargo [Rating: 4/10] Despite a very promising opening couple of episodes and great casting, I found the middle of the series to be painfully weak. The ending was good, but the anime beats it out in almost every way. I think the character design for Takemoto, Morita, and most of the main characters was so much better than the anime, but the direction fell flat on its face. Too bad - it had some strong potential. |
| 38. | Comments by balflear [Rating: 4/10] Maybe I'm a bit biased since I saw the anime and I think the storyline of the anime is way better. The dorama did not manage to portray half of what the anime managed to do. However, I do praise the actors for their good acting, even if their characters did not resemble their anime counterpart in the least (I blame script for that). |
| 39. | Comments by Lee-chan [Rating: 6/10] Decent but painfully slow. I can't put together any other impressions other than that... |
| 40. | Comments by expanzee [Rating: ?/10] [EDIT] |
| 41. | Comments by infatuation21 [Rating: 8/10] takemoto = toma = LOVE. :D |
| 42. | Comments by TakumaSan [Rating: 7/10] it was a realli good drama..
had a great story to it.. like the ending =) |
| 43. | Comments by UsopSama [Rating: 9/10] This is a touching story of Takemoto and his college friends as they struggle through love, college life and their careers. I really enjoyed this one. There is a lot of comic relief when the plot gets too serious. And each episode does a good job pulling the viewers in for more. |
| 44. | Comments by Patazilla [Rating: 7/10] Hmmmmmm... not easy to grade this one. All in all it's definitely none of my favourites. It lacks some nice absorbing flow... and the characters aren't of my like, but still it had some nice moments. The first episodes were kinda slow, but somehow it catched my interest in episode 8 and 9, which were really good ones. I'm still not sure what to say about the ending. I kinda missed something here, it doesn't really feel as if it ended. Hm. Definitely ok, to see the struggles of the characters and nice philosophic aspects, too, but all in one lacks some assertiveness. All the struggle is a bit anoying. |
| 45. | Comments by onie [Rating: 8/10] i actually watched it because of ikuta toma! hehe.. i also like the actress harada natsuki.. really pretty! i liked the story, it was funny, touching and "kilig".. hehe.. i liked the part when takemoto was determined to find himself.. but some parts were dragging or slow. but all in all it was ok. |
| 46. | Comments by ct_subang [Rating: 4/10] this one had alotta buzz since Toma is init...too bad this one was really slow and a bit gloomy...was great though to see Kashiwabara back in busines...kyaaa~~~ |
| 47. | Comments by simpletoad [Rating: 6/10] incomplete . the anime/manga was much better . |
| 48. | Comments by sweetkitty_22 [Rating: 8/10] i want to watch tihs!!! |
| 49. | Comments by oldasianguy [Rating: 4/10] Watched this series up to episode 3 and couldn't watch anymore.....Ikuta Toma and Narimaya Hiroki were slightly annoying....Narumi Riko is in my opinion a fine actress but in this drama, she looks way too young for the part...I would say that the movie version with Aoi Yu was much more enjoyable and sucessful.......but this dorama was draggy and nothing was new.... |
| 50. | Comments by dirtypink [Rating: 7/10] it was boring sometimes.but the ending was touching for me.the clover sandwich was so touching>_< |
| 51. | Comments by EstherM [Rating: 7/10] The source material is a bit slow and boring already so I wasn´t expecting anything hilarious or action driven. The actors fitted well, the major storyline was respected and I recognised many scences from the manga, which I liked. Not grand, but not really bad, like the manga. The anime is funnier. |
| 52. | Comments by room304 [Rating: 6/10] enjoyed it despite it's slow pace, but Narumi Riko really was annoying in this one |
| 53. | Comments by pinkokoro [Rating: ?/10] COMPLETE. HS |
| 54. | Comments by sezling [Rating: 8/10] I actually quite liked this drama. The characters really hit it off for me! I'm a fan of the anime (having watched that first) and I was REALLY pleased with how each actor matched their character perfectly!! Through their friendships and interactions the story manages to be funny and heartwarming =) |
| 55. | Comments by kaitosan20 [Rating: 7/10] it was alright but wasnt really exiting. |
| 56. | Comments by Akyoku [Rating: ?/10] ikuta! |
| 57. | Comments by Vinny_Duvet [Rating: ?/10] 2 серии |
| 58. | Comments by roon [Rating: 3/10] Live action H&C is pretty much cursed... |
| 59. | Comments by Milano [Rating: 9/10] it follows almost perfectly the anime, sometimes too sweet. |
| 60. | Comments by aoi_dolphine [Rating: 8/10] I watched this for Nari, Toma and Riko. This drama is kind of slow BUT still I like the chemistry protray between the 5 leads in the drama. Each has their own boundary to cross, each has their own relationship to deal with and last of all they still keep their friendship to the end. |
| 61. | Comments by kireiyuhi [Rating: 9/10] Narumi Rika is absolutely amazing. She's only 16 and has already proven that she can play several different roles. I really enjoyed this drama. Especially cause Ikuta Toma is in it |
| 62. | Comments by eftermiddag [Rating: 4/10] haven't seen all episodes yet. I think it might be a good dorama, but i haven't decided yet |
| 63. | Comments by ABINTRA [Rating: 7/10] I wouldn't really recommend it, though it did have its moments and Ikuta Toma was awesome as always. I admit I'm not a big fan of the manga, but the drama could've done more with the source material; I expected this to be funnier. I felt inspired, though, to get out my paints. |
| 64. | Comments by shinjitsu [Rating: 7/10] Just ok. Comparable to 'Orange Days' in story and enjoyability. |
| 65. | Comments by romi510 [Rating: 7/10] I watched this show for Toma, but seriously, the pace is so SLOW that I almost give up on it. I wish Toma can get better scripts!!! |
| 66. | Comments by misaki697 [Rating: 6/10] i watched this one because i absolutely LOVED toma in hana kimi, but this drama was incredibly slow most of the time, and isnt one that leaves a lasting impression.
However, i REALLY enjoyed watching Harada Natsuki's character develop. I also really liked her chemistry with Mayama. i think it was their relationship that motivated me to finish watching the drama. |
| 67. | Comments by Makochan [Rating: 8/10] It starts off a little slow, but then picks up halfway through. Worth a watch! |
| 68. | Comments by fantariko [Rating: 10/10] Best Ikuta Toma!!!! Really great.. so cute... hehe |
| 69. | Comments by xayaxceresx [Rating: 7/10] art |
| 70. | Comments by gopro [Rating: 6/10] This is about 6.5ish- I watched this being a fan of the anime and I must say that this is a big letdown. Certain moments were too slow and some were too fast. The addition of Ryoma-Sama was great. I recommend others to watch the anime instead or read the manga. (Watched Spring 08) |
| 71. | Comments by joychin [Rating: 7/10] Actually,it's kind of boring. Not super boring, but a little. I really dun like the main female lead because i think her acting looks so fake. Even when she smiles,it doesn't look genuine. Sigh....maybe it's because i've seen her acting in 1 litre of tears and her character is nothing like in honey and clover but i still think that her acting in 1 litre of tears is more convincing. Other than her,i love the rest of the cast especially toma and osamu!! After watching for a while,i began to wonder, who exactly is the main character because the drama doesn't really focus on the main character but all the 4 friends. That's why, instead of paying attention to the main storyline.....toma and the painter girl,i actually drifted off and was more interested in mayama and the pot girl. The ending was nice, the storyline is not bad,the soundtrack too and also the beginning and the ending where they played the theme song. The polaroid pic concept at the beginning and the self video at the end is really nice |
| 72. | Comments by kneehard [Rating: 7/10] I am in a love-hate relationship with this drama because some parts of it I absolutely enjoyed watching while other parts I wish I can just cut out of the drama.
To those of you who have not watched it yet, look forward to the interaction between Nirimiya Hiroki's charater and the main actress(sorry I forgot your name), Nomiya+Yamada and Ikuta Toma's self-discovering journey.
I really didn't enjoy the side story of Asaka Seto and the glasses guy. |
| 73. | Comments by Swedish_Japan_Lover [Rating: 6/10] I loved the story and the characters, but it was so slow and no action at all, very boring sometimes |
| 74. | Comments by azngelique [Rating: 6/10] boring sometimes. but the actors were great. i love toma here.. :)) |
| 75. | Comments by cnidaria_jin [Rating: 7/10] i loves tis drama... |
| 76. | Comments by chibichan [Rating: 9/10] i can feel Yuuta's (Ikuta Toma) desperation, for not having destination in life, not knowing what to do., not have enough courage to teel his feeling. Somewhat this dorama teach me life.
As a fact i almost give up wacthing this after 3 episodes, at first i feels this dorama is slow, but when reached 4 episodes i started to like this dorama and fall in love with Toma's character at the same time.
really like the scenes, when the three of them gather and listen to Romaya Senpai's word |
| 77. | Comments by mmyy [Rating: 7/10] Heartwarming drama but wasn't as emotional as I hoped for. Tons better than the movie (except for Hagu's role) but nothing beats the anime. |
| 78. | Comments by michimaru [Rating: 7/10] not having read the manga, it was surprising to find the series a tad on the boring side after hearing so much excitement in anticipation of it's premiere. but it did pick up in the later episodes and i enjoyed it's end. |
| 79. | Comments by sinned12 [Rating: 5/10] What can I say? It's not one of my favorites |
| 80. | Comments by hananako [Rating: 7/10] Good to watch ;) Romaya senpai has many valuable quotes anyway.. eheheheheh.. ;) |
| 81. | Comments by w-kassy [Rating: 7/10] I like the way Takemoto thinks of everything at this drama. That really makes this drama really worth to watch.
Btw, I love Nomiya!!! He's soooooooooooooooo... HOT! ^ ^ |
| 82. | Comments by Ln [Rating: ?/10] Honey And Clover |
| 83. | Comments by jekert [Rating: 10/10] a story about friendship and love. i don't really know what i particularly like about this drama but overall, it just captured me and made me want for more. hehe. |
| 84. | Comments by kyunspark [Rating: 7/10] Watch suggestion...:
Watch the Movie first, then the series, then the anime...
If you watch the anime first, you'll be disappointed with both dorama and movie.
The dorama alone was okay, despite the disappointing casts... |
| 85. | Comments by Ayzee^^Aya [Rating: 9/10] the scenes are wonderful! the casts are extremely gorgeous. nice to watch! |
| 86. | Comments by Amber [Rating: 9/10] I was really touched and Takemoto's (the main figur) way of telling the story is very beautiful!!!!
Wonderful dorama that may helps you to find your own way^^ |
| 87. | Comments by Jeanxi [Rating: 5/10] Decided to watch the series since I absolutely loved the manga (one of the funniest I've read in a long time) but didn't have a great experience with the Chinese drama (stuck to the manga's story and had some great actresses, but mainly the acting was not so great). I turned to the Japanese version in hopes of seeing better acting and the amazing Kashiwabara Takashi ^^
For the most part, the acting is better, but the story is too different from the manga for my liking, particularly because the J-drama is much less funny and lighthearted than the manga. The drama plot is typical of college dramas and focuses on the complex relationships among the students and how they chase/find their dreams. So although at first the drama was pretty enjoyable and funny, soon enough, the story becomes too dragged out and cliche (the Romaiya-senpai thing was funny the first two times, not so much after the 10th).
I was really impressed with Ikuta Toma since he did a great job making himself a completely different person from the role he portrays in Voices (the only other drama I've seen him in), which convinced me he's a great actor. However, I'm not so positive about Narumi Riko's performance.
Overall, this was a fairly mediocre and disappointing drama. Although Orange Days did not rank high in my books either, as another mediocre college drama that I've watched, it was still better in comparison to this (incidentally, it also features Nariyama Hiroki and Kashiwabara Takashi though I can't remember Kashi's role).
Summary: WATCH the MANGA, DON'T WATCH either of the DRAMA versions. |
| 88. | Comments by emina45 [Rating: 4/10] I was really anticipating it because of Toma, but soon it got really slow for me, and I always got bored with it. |
| 89. | Comments by zoqh [Rating: 7/10] it's watchable!
Ikuta kawaii! |
| 90. | Comments by ChapstickMurMur [Rating: 6/10] Being a fan of the anime i had pretty high expectations for this drama. I wasn't so much let down by the cast especially with Narimiya Hiroki and Ikuta Toma, who both in my opinion, did a better job in their roles as morita and takemoto than the movie version (sorry sho chan ><) but overall it still wasn't very well done. Along the way a lot of the positive messages in experiencing heartache and rejection and growing up that the anime did so well at conveying, just got lost in the drama which was a big dissappointment. I just think for fans who are watching this because of the anime will be severely let down and that honey and clover is just one of those storys that just can't be retold through a drama. |
| 91. | Comments by farhana_chan [Rating: 10/10] this drama was touching,but it still have the humor's element..erm..well, i like takemoto-kun and ayumi-chan.plus, nomiya-san.. |
| 92. | Comments by iheartp [Rating: 8/10] mayama and toma<3333 i loved the artwork! |
| 93. | Comments by coolsansu [Rating: 9/10] the best friendship that i felt in this drama. Hope will happen in my life as well with my friends |
| 94. | Comments by nishishi [Rating: 3/10] 11 episodes... 1 love triangle and 1 love square... and the ending doesnt fell like an END at all. That's all i can say 'bout honey and clover! So far Honey and Clover gotta be one of the most boring doramas i've ever seen... And wtf was that ending? Gotta be THE WORST ending ever... This dorama would be much better if they showed only Ikuta's character journey (the reason i rate this dorama a 3...) NaH... im not really into all those love triangle stuff... and this dorama is soooo slow paced that i dont recommend it at all.... |
| 95. | Comments by izu [Rating: 8/10] It was good. Ikuta Toma is amazing! |
| 96. | Comments by nadrika [Rating: ?/10] This was broadcasted on 8tv early 2009. Managed to catch two episodes only. The first one was i think already mid-way through the drama. And the second one was the last episode. The impression this drama gave me from just the two episodes i saw was quite a good one though.
Was very excited when i heard the ending song. Yes i could instantly recognise the voice and the style. It was sung by Ken Hirai aka Mr Talented. Ever since he released 'fake star' i was re-thinking being a fan of his. Didn't follow his song releases after that. Knew that he released some new songs from reading forums here and there but found it tiring trying to follow an artiste who doesn't get much coverage in my local media.
In any case, it got me drawn back to him. Started searching for his songs that were released after 'fake star'. And also that theme song he did for Ano Sora wa Oboeteru. I knew Ken was providing the theme song for the movie of my favourite actor but at that point of time i was thinking it would take a LONG TIME before i get to see the movie and hear the song itself. So i decided to dettach myself from both of them. *shrugs* |
| 97. | Comments by pandora [Rating: 7/10] Funny, no depth comedy with somewhat unconvincing romance....but I liked it |
| 98. | Comments by ryouji [Rating: 8/10] a super boring at first but continuing it the story is dragging up... the ending was not that good cause the love story didn't end well!! but this was ok than in movie! |
