| Synopsis |

When Kasumi's husband dies in a car wreck, Ryuichi vows to watch over her and her unborn son. Over the next ten years, he gradually falls in love with Kasumi. Now 35 years old, Kasumi has resisted loving another man for fear of reliving the pain of losing a loved one. She happens to meet Ryuichi's bad boy younger brother and finds herself physically attracted to him; but Ryuichi finally acts on his bottled-up feelings for Kasumi and asks her to marry him. Kasumi must decide if she can risk truly loving another man like Ryuichi, or if she can be content with the purely physical relationship that his brother can provide. | | TBS |

I’ve finally completed Love & Eros and I must say that the cast was absolutely amazing. There wasn’t one weak link in the entire thing and I feel very fortunate to have seen Asano Atsuko on the small screen. This was my first experience with her and I was highly impressed. Tomoya Nagase was wonderful, as usual, and although I still prefer him in the silly gangster role, it was nice to see him pull off a harder, more emotional character. Fujii Fumiya was adorable and although he doesn’t stand out (how can he with Asano and Tomoya flanking him on both sides) he has this subtle quality that creeps up on you.
That being said, I’ll never ever watch this drama again.
This drama made me feel ridiculous. At first I found the storyline stupid and the plot insufferable. The character of Kasumi was so annoying I felt like slapping her every time she was on screen. Jiro was also a pain in the butt and I couldn’t understand why I wasn’t attracted to my Tomoya. Slowly (around episode 6), the writers complicated the characters by changing character traits. Suddenly the things I admired in Ruiychi were transferred to Jiro and vice versa, so that I was now attracted to Jiro’s character. Then of course the End of the drama came along and everything just splattered against the wall, leaving behind a mess of nothingness. I don’t know how I feel about the ending. In one respect I thought it was brilliant. In another I felt it was overdone, predictable, and stupid.

First of all, just let me say that I love every one of the characters in this series. Second, this is Nagase's most seductive role ever, and of course, just watching him in here is enough. Third, it's not ask dark as others have written. The relationship between 2 brothers who help each other. One, an orphan driven by angst and loneliness, and the other, revolving his life around one woman. The ending was sad bur fulfulling. What a hot and seductive role for Tomoya!! Never seen him in a role like this before.
Even though Tomoya's role was really hot and sexy in the first half of the drama, I actually like the 2nd half more. Great acting all the time, and pretty good story and character development. Can become a little boring somewhere in the middle, but then it paces up again for a great climax. Unfortunately, in my opinion, the climax occurs at the end of episode 11, leaving the last episode... well... see for yourself. This drama was difficult to watch because it flipped around too much. The lead female character was annoying, although I could somewhat understand where she was coming from. I'm glad I watched this drama (for Tomoya), but I'll never watch it again. |
