Very good location The nurses are good. The Doctor is a joke. It is ruined by the main character. They use someone who is not as manly as Madonna and try make you believe he can do surgery and go out do manual labor with people who really look like they have been doing it their whole lives. |

Highest viewership of the season. Dr Koto is an entertaining dorama with a mixture of funny and moving moments. I wish they had developed the relationship a little bit more between the two leads. Worth watching� |

I love watching foreign films especially when the story line is in the rural areas. I thought Hidetaka is too young to be a doctor, and I did not know he was a child actor (Kita no Kuni). And why does Kou like roles like this, grumpy and strange? How about a comedy for her? |

Just finished watching this drama recently...thought it would be just like any other doctor dramas I've watched before..but I was wrong...first..the scenery are really beautiful..the actors and actresses are all really talented (especially those playing parts of the villagers) and the kids are soo talented too...a very nice drama indeed. Must watched for those who like dramas about human relationship and compassion. |

It's too slow. There's just something about it that doesn't make me care about any of the characters. The doctor's character is so soft that I wanted to slap him around sometimes and say PULL IT TOGETHER, MAN! The only lively thing in the show was the old woman and the pissed off nurse. Other than that, the story doesn't stand out as an original accomplishment. |

Dec 2003: Beautiful drama with great scenery, quite simple drama, about a doctor in a small island which located far away from the main island. Shibasaki kou did a great job as a nurse, and hidetaka won best actor for this. Don't watch it if you love romance story. |

I thought this was an excellent drama indeed. This drama tells the tale of Dr Koto coming to an island to work only to find that the entire community doesn't trust him. He slowly but surely wins them over through his dedication and sincerity. The theme song for this drama is also excellent. It really got me hooked onto it... Highly recommended!~~ |

Very good drama! Touching and although alot of the people says that the doctor is not manly enough and the nurse has much more courage, but I think that is a good doctor! Everyone should watch it! Highly recommended. |

Dr. Koto's clinic is definitely one of the best series of all time. It impresses not only in the accuracy and realism of surgical procedures, but also in it's heart-warming stories. From the very beginning it was clear that there would a lot of smiles and a lot of tears. The entire case was amazing and the staff did a fantastic job. I look forward to being able to see the special and second series in the near future. |

Great Show!!!! Really sensitive show depicting the plight of a young gentle docter assigned to a clinic on a remote island......The cast headed by Yoshioka Hidetaka as the young dr were great....I highly recommend this drama!!!! |

Good, heartwarming drama.
Dont buy in too much about the negative reviews on this; people tend to have pre-conceptions on medical drama and expect them to behave as in Chicago Hope, ER, House MD, Grey's or any of the US-based med shows. |

What an amazing dorama.... Really... first of all i hate medical shows.... doesnt matter if its like those sitcoms like E.R., Scrubs, House. Those "reality" shows 'bout plastic surgery... Nways I REALLY HATE MEDICAL SHOWS!!!
But Dr Koto - Shinryousho is wonderful... Its so touching!!! Heart warming!!! The plot and the casting r perfect... BtW.. i've seen that some ppl didnt like the main char. IMO he was the best... the writter really come with something different when they created the Koto's Char....
Nways... from making someone who trully hates medical shows to love a medical dorama.... Dr Koto has to get a perfect score. |

its good, the mystery that lays behind koto's real reason for being there is interesting i wanna know why he is really there...im annoyed by shibasaki kou's character, i hate tsundere's period...other than that, i guess its pretty good |
