Synopsis
Takako Mamiya is a lawyer who quits her job at a prestigious law firm, and establishes her own office. She confidently sets out to build her business, but soon her former firm is putting up obstacles and interfering, causing Takako's employees and clients to drift away. She finally puts together a new staff consisting of a college student who knows little about the law, a girl who applied for the job in hopes of meeting a rich guy, a hard-nosed lawyer, and a paralegal who hasn't passed the bar exam yet.

Takako reluctantly handles divorce cases with her incompetent crew. For an elite lawyer like her, divorce cases are the most boring and unrewarding cases that exist. Through clashing with her employees and clients, Takako soon becomes a very mature and tough lawyer.

"Divorce Lawyer" also tells the story of how difficult it is to judge love and relationships in legal terms.

1. Gets better and better [Rating: 8/10]
This drama takes a new direction from other more mainstream dramas. The pace is fast, but then it slows down at some key parts, and then picks up speed again. It was hard to accept at first, but by the 5th episode or so, I was hooked. I liked these cases that they had to go through, not to mention educational as well, with all the laws pertaining to marriage or relating to. The characters really builds on you, and there's a moral to every story, some obvious and some quite indirect.
This drama takes you into the world of attornies and what they have to do for their clients and some of the things people go to court for. It made my eyes open and reminds me how easy it is to have disputes and that's why the laws are so complicated and why we have so many laws for so many things.

2. Super Beautiful Female Cast and Superb Storyline! [Rating: 10/10]
This drama for me is the best Japanese drama that I have seen so far...The cast are very pretty especially Amami Yuki...I got hooked to this drama when I first saw it on tv...

Amami Yuki is very beautiful, can act well, and is very cute!

Mimura is also pretty...:-)

She should have been maintained as the secretary in part 2, the new secretary in part 2 is not as beautiful as her...

But I love this drama!

Amami Yuki (Enka no Joou, Jyoou no Kyoushitsu). Amami Yuki + cast + directing + editing + setting + writing + music (like dat acoustic guitar goin on 2nd ep. ~) = GREAT 1ST EPISODE!! It's no wonder Amami's one of my favs! It's an excellent cast with many familiar faces! Camera movement, editing/flashbacks are spot on & well thought out! Amami & Takenouchi Yutaka at the bar was a beautiful setting. Their playful conversation was a fitting end to a fast paced first episode! ;)
The rest of the episodes are good to ok. Final episode was good. I give the series an edge as I enjoy watching Amami Yuki & the other actors in this.
Look forward to the 2nd season when I'm ready to pull it off the shelf. ;)

This drama is interesting, but not interesting enough to keep me motivated. Amami Yuki is a good actress, but she always play the tough woman role. Kinda boring in the beginning, but once you get into it, it's pretty good. Just have to get over the initial slump.

amami yuki's acting is excellent! this is the first drama i watched with her acting inside and i can only say her acting has won me over. this show is quite funny and i had some great laughs watching it. :)

Really liked this drama, even though I didn't see all of it. It was different in that there was no one continuous story line (which made it much more like Law & Order etc), but still, funny and pognient.

Good cast that worked well together. The "guest stars" for each episode were usually very good, but episode 8 with Naho Toda is worth the price of admission all by itself.

Really good. Each episode is seperate from the other, each case interesting and fun to watch and think about. Great casting and Amami is superb.
