Synopsis
This year is the yakudoshi, or “critical age” for 32-year old Akiko (Shinohara Ryoko), a television announcer. She lost her position in a news program to a rookie announcer. What’s worse, she is assigned to go undercover and experience life as a farmer’s bride for a variety program. Akiko pretends to be the fiancee of Ichiro (Yabe Hiroyuki), her ex-boyfriend, and begins her “bridal training” at the peach farm of Ichiro’s parents. Awaiting Akiko is a family filled with extraordinary personalities, led by the stern mother-in-law, Yukie (Iwashita Shima).

1. Not bad, funny too [Rating: 7/10]
This drama stars Shinohara Ryoko as Taketomi Akiko top news anchor who's lost her position to a younger and prettier anchor. So having lost that, she's back to doing hard reporting. She gets into a plan with her boss/producer friend Takahashi Hiroshi and somewhat with Azuchi Ichiro to go spy on the Azuchi family farm, by pretending to be Ichiro's future wife.

So she puts cameras everywhere and tapes people and people eventually find out she's a fake bride. Everyone hates her, then Akiko wins their affections back and then they accept her. I didn't buy Azuchi Ichiro suddenly wanting to marry Akiko, since they seemed like friends in on a scheme. Also Yabe Hiroyuki plays the character like a cold fish annoyed with his life. The drama drags a little bit in the later episodes.

The supporting characters are good. Azuchi Yukie, being the formal head of the Azuchi house, and her relationship with Akiko seemed a lot deeper than anything else.

Ozawa Maju's character was funny doing her comical relief as she plots to push Akiko out and take over the Azuchi farm for herself.

I wanted to criticize Shinohara Ryoko a little, but she does a decent job in this series.

2. A Light and Enjoyable Drama [Rating: 8/10]
This drama was a lot of fun. Mind you, I usually enjoy anything Shinohara Ryoko is in, but this drama had its own merits that made it a fun comedy.

I really enjoyed the different types of characters. They weren’t your stereotypical characters, but rather interesting and silly ones. A good example is Kaori, who was one of my favourites. She plays the antagonist, and yet she wasn’t evil. She was just mean, but her silliness made the meanness light. Iwashita Shima, who plays the head of the Azuchi family, was fabulous and her pairing with Shinohara was grand.

The story was predictable and the plot was a no-brainer, but this is hardly a fault considering the lightness of the drama. It was just fun. That’s all there was to it.

It's beginning was promising, but it's ending was dragging.

I hated the 1st ep... then it picked up and I liked it as the series progressed, and then the last 2 episodes really dragged. Basically, if it wasn't for Shinohara Ryoko I would have dropped it after the 1st ep. I ended up liking Yabe too, I find him rather endearing. The Kaori character drove me nuts... the actress was so overdoing it. She overdid her nose surgery too XD She was much more pretty in Itazura na Kiss w/o that witch-like nose.

Shinohara Ryoko is one of my favorites but she should be more selective. And why Yabe Hiroyuki? The idea of a guy born and raised in Tohoku living in Tokyo and speaking with a Osaka accent is pretty ridicuous. NOTE: Keep an eye on the clock on the wall behind Taketomi (Shinohara) Akiko's sofa. It was stuck on 9:05 for a while then moved to 8:00.

Thou the script is sometimes exaggerated, the female lead's performance makes up for this pitfall. Yet there is a tendency that this dorama is turning into a family dorama. The last few eps have been really draggy, as a result, a 5 is warranted.

so draggy that by the end the only reason i was watching was because i didnt want to give up halfway. very inconsistent mood and style and weak plot. ryoko deserves better scripts!

I like Ryoko Shinohara but Hanayome was a shallow, exaggerated and overly long affair. The letdown is the script and silly characters like Azuchi Kaori.

There is something magical about Shinohara Ryoko. The plot was silly, the supporting actors horrible, but she kept me watching. I'd say this is for fans only.

Pretty good. Wasn't too interested at the beginning, but ended up watching everything. It's a nice family drama. I like it.

FUNNY! Shinohara is a wonderful actress and she's so peppy that you can't help but watch her. This drama rises the factor of "impressing a family" and the mother is hilarious!
Koyama is quite adorable in this too, his acting is getting better, but might still need some work..he's just a Johnny though.

The premise of this whole story almost made me want to stop watching right off the bat. It was just so... dumb. Yet I stuck with it and, well, it didn't get much better. It's somewhat interesting to see how a peach farm operates, but besides that, I definitely don't recommend this series.

So far, I find it really good! I've actually only gone up to Episode 2 right now, but I think this is a super adorable storyline. Koyama's there and well, he's part of NEWS, which means I automatically love this drama. ^^ But he was so cute there - allergic to peaches.. and they live in a peach farm. >.<'' I am sensing a romance blooming between the main actress and the guy whose family she's going into? But we'll see. So far, I love it!

It was just okay for me. I missed a lot of it simply because I fell asleep while trying to watch. It's a somewhat intriguing story, although very predictable.

From Malayasia This was pretty good I thought, Not as good as some but better than a lot. Parts of it were quite funny & the so called evil sister is so inept you really can't hate her.

A story about family, interesting and touching in both ways. Of course, I love Shinohara san a lot.

The drama's good, I especially like the beginning, but the ending was kinda crappy, it felt really dragged on.

This is pretty interesting.... i have left my japanese dorama days quite sometime after anime took over my life... but then i came back and tried to resurrect my love for doramas again, this was like the first one after so many years not watching something purely original... i wouldn't say the main character is now not pretty nor the guy that she was to get married to was ugly. equally, they were pretty good actors... and i love the head of the Azuchi Household, now she was good. almost perfect. what a mother-in-law. the dorama was slow in the begining, but when u actually sit down and have a 5-6 hour marathon... it could really get intensifying. so, i'd say try this dorama, it's worth a laugh!

some sort of repeating the daughter-in-law vs mother-in-law series.

Surprisingly enjoyable. It sounds like a totally B series, but I really came to care about the characters and their relationships.

Rather predictable story, which gets worse towards the end.

A 9/10. A light drama/comedy that really stuck in. I couldn't help but go back to the scenes I love.
