Synopsis
Positive and daring in character and always living her life to the fullest, Saeki Urara is a 19 year old girl who lives in Japanfs smallest prefecture, Kagawa. On her birthday, she learns that her father, who she thought had died 15 years ago, is alive somewhere in Tokyo. Urara cannot withhold her yearning to go look for him and withdraws her entire life savings to hop on a bus to head to the big city. But on her first day in Tokyo, Urara realizes that her entire fortune is robbed by a pick-pocket! Broke, homeless, and without a vision, Urara wanders about and meets a woman who introduces her to Takuya, a middle-aged lawyer and bachelor. Something about the man is remarkably familiar to Urara and she gasps in shock, gDAD!?h

After their coincidental reunion, Urarafs benevolent curiosity does not stop her from wanting to find out more about her estranged father, who urges her to go back to her small home town. Soon, Urara sees that Takuya is being preyed upon by several young and attractive bachelorettes. Innately meddlesome in nature, Urara makes it her duty to see that her father is not played a fool.

1. Fun comedy [Rating: 8/10]
Tokyo Zenryoku Shojo is a classic, well-written and well-acted comedy, that avoids the classic themes. There actually isn't really a main theme for the series, instead it follows the adventures of Urara as she pursues her goal of making her dad happy.
The whole cast does a wonderful job, supporting a script that is well-written, with characters that make sense. You are left with cliffhangers at the end of most episodes, and the story unfolds nicely until the end.
A quality comedy that will get a few laughs out of you.

Wow, this was really a surprise. When I first started watching this I thought it was going to be incredibly stupid, largely just because I don't care too much for comedies. I'm not sure exactly when, but probably around when her father tried to get her to sell her panties, and she proceeded to do so, I found myself in love with this show. I found this series genuinely funny, quite the rarity for me, and there were some moments of uncontrollable laughter that I couldn't repress. But more than anything I would say the word that best describes this drama would be "fun", it's just a lot of fun, and it even made life in general seem just a little bit better while watching.

I feel strange raving so much about a show that is as shallow as this, I generally prefer drama with more depth and seriousness, but I feel there is enough room in the TV world for something like this too. There is one flaw I find, and it's the exact same flaw as nearly every comedy series. The necessity to develop the plot and have stuff happen interferes with the humor and lightheartedness in a progressive manner, like a cancer, and I find myself liking it less and less as it goes along. But I don't see much that could have been done differently about it, and they handled it as well as could be in my opinion.

light and entertaining drama. all the main characters are unique and funny on their way. some scenes might look so stupid, yet still enjoyable to watch. I love the ending. :)

Good supporting cast but the lead actress is terrible. Although I'm not sure if a better actress would have made much difference.

Just checked this out to see how Watabe Atsuro would do in a comedy.
The show is funny enough but I couldn't get into it.
