| | 1. | A First-rate dorama [Rating: 9/10] Among the finest doramas I've seen, Farewell, Mr Premier brings out the same delightful touch found in Ohsama no Resutoran. Tamura Masakazu as the premier was a great casting choice and Nishimura and Tsutsui made this feel like King's Restaurant in the Premier's office. The acting by the whole cast was excellent and the quirky plots kept me entertained throughout the whole series. I'm thoroughly satisfied that I watched this series particularly in light of all the current trendy types of doramas that seem to have lost the kind of originality and touch that a dorama like this one provides. | | Reviewed by Shindou on 18 August 2006 | | 2. | so-so [Rating: 6/10] The drama is about an arrogant prime minister, his bad public approval ratings, and his administration's PR attempts to bolster his position. In a frivolous act of redeeming the character, the ending saw the premier take the blame for a money scandal. They tacked on the, "he's upending the system" line for the reason he took the blame, which isn't true since the premier can be simply leave office in disgrace and a new premier can take over, even from the same political party. So Tamura's character "upended" or sacrificed his own premier-ship since he was sinking anyway - his zero approval ratings and the threats of no confidence votes in earlier episodes - the reason for the PR.
Tsuruta Mayu saves much of the drama playing the maid. Nishimura wasn't as funny as he is in other dramas, but does a good dramatic performance. Suzuki Honami is cute here too. | | Reviewed by bba1 on 12 March 2008 |

| | 1. | Comments by Angry Machines [Rating: 6/10] I can't believe that this is the same Honami from tokyo love story...God, so much changed since then. Anyway, her role is pretty silly as she's the PM's play-wife. I can't swallow michitaka's acting as its pretty stiff and emotionless, I never liked his acting anyway, even in Asunaro hakusho. but Aiko is a such a doll here, I felt sorry for her getting slapped , but it was just funny. Tsuruta Mayu is the ditzy sexy maid and they just made it right, because she's just hot in that maid outfit. generally its an ok show, but avoid for those who are not into politicals jokes and gimmiks. | | 2. | Comments by lynn [Rating: ?/10] Currently watching...Ep02 | | 3. | Comments by Shindou [Rating: 9/10] Had trouble telling this apart from a continuation of Ohsama no Resutoran! :P Seriously though, I thoroughly enjoyed watching this dorama with the great scenes among the cast members and watching them handle crisis after crisis in quirky and at times humourous ways. Music was very appropriate and the acting was first-rate. Two thumbs up for sure! | | 4. | Comments by Andan [Rating: 8/10] Maybe not the greatest series of all times but I love the chemistry between Tamura and all the other cast members. Very, very funny - although very simple - political satire. | | 5. | Comments by elisan [Rating: 7/10] enjoyble polit-drama-comedy | | 6. | Comments by gto_girlz83 [Rating: ?/10] will be watching...needs time.. | | 7. | Comments by psychomann [Rating: 4/10] Trop mou, ponctué avec de petits moments tres droles, seul le carisme du personnage "du prermier" est maintient l'interet
~
Too soft punctate by funny moments, only the charisma of the character "the prermier" keeps interest. |
