Synopsis

The story greatly resembles 3 Nen B Gumi Kimpachi-sensei with some stereotypical characters tacked on. There's the hardheaded father figure, who is a ramen shop chef, his tough school teacher daughter (Yuko Takeuchi), who hates Sakuragi, and an estranged older sister, who dad has disowned. Dad is renting Sakuragi the estranged sister's old room. Takeuchi and Sentaro teach with a guy who has a huge Oedipus complex. We have seen it all before, but done better elsewhere. However, the real problem is not the scenario, but the school. It would be hard to find a less likeable class.

1.	Very funny & touching! [Rating: 10/10] From the same writer and producer of Tsuyoshi's "Summer Snow", "to Heart", etc, you bet this is yet another good drama. There is laughter and yet touching moments in the show. Tsuyoshi, Yuko, Naoki and all the kids did a great job in the show. I like it when Sentaro & Motoko (Takeuchi Yuko) always quarrel in the show but finally realising they love each other, Motoko confessed her love for Sentaro, which is the sweetest part of the show. The songs in the show are very good too. The theme song "Hey! Minna Genki Kai?" by Kinki Kids gives people a very happy feel. And the insertion songs, "Miagete Goran Yoru no Hoshi wo", "Tomodachi" & "Namidakun Sayonara", all solo by Tsuyoshi himself are so good and fit just right in the show. His singing and acting skills is no doubt the best in Johnny's Entertainment. For those who are still considering whether to watch this drama, no more doubts, do buy the VCD when it is out, this is truly one of the best drama!

2.	Funny, cool and interesting story [Rating: 10/10] I like it..it's a story about a caring loving teacher by Tsuyoshi ....who cares about his primary school student..and have a greater ambition in making the class numbor one in japan..It's funny ...the kids a re cool....Watch it....

3.	Good Drama [Rating: 7/10] This is one of the better dramas from Tsuyoshi. Not dark and quite funny. Takeuchi's character is quite tom boy. Interesting to watch the little squibbling between her and Tsuyoshi.

5.	Nice and Feel Good Drama [Rating: 9/10] Score for Tsuyoshi and Yuko! Their chemistry is great and funny. The stories about the students were also very interesting and sometimes quite touching too. My fave is the kid who always washes Tsuyoshi's hair.

6.	Good Dorama !! [Rating: 9/10] At first i wonder how will this dorama would be for i always compare any school teacher dorama with my most fave Great Teacher Onizuka. But as i begin to watch it, geeezzz, it's indeed a great dorama, there are also many funny and touchy things in elementary school's life. I didn't to interest at the love story between the main characters, what i really love is the characters of the students in class 5-3 with all their problematics. I laugh and also touch with how they react. It just so natural how they act in this dorama. I like almost every scene of it, how Sakuragi Sentaro sensei (Dohmoto Tusyoshi) helps his students to overcome their problems, to reveal who they truly are. The scene when the students prepare a farewell party for Sakuragi sensei is the best scene, i really love it, also when they say goodbye from the bridge. Well, what could i write, i like this dorama !!

10.	daymn kids! [Rating: 6/10] i haven't watched all of it yet, but so far i'm tired of watching teachers being terrified of their own bratty students... if i was the teacher, it wouuld be the other way around >=)

11.	Gakkou no sensei IS TOPS but not the best [Rating: 9/10] Gakkou no sensei is a good drama! I loved it Dohmoto Tsuyoshi played a grade school teacher. He was very good in it I loved the characters. The show is great but these kids shure did like to abuse teachers man. I didn't realy like Yuko's character all that much but oh well and i didn't like the ending. But other then that it was good. (Adding to old review) Takeuchi Yuko's role in this drama was kind of anoyying becuase all she did was fight with Tsuyoshi though the intire thing! I but toward's the end I saw some good in that character. Maybe that is one of the reasons I didn't give it a ten. It is still very good!

13.	Touching, yet fun! [Rating: 9/10] This is a really touching and funny drama. In each episode, something really touching happens between the teacher (Tsuysoshi or the others) with the cute little students. Also, from every episode, I have learnt something from it, how people should tackle with problems in life and should not give up, and that is what Tsuyoshi does in the drama, making sure that no one gives up until the very end. Tsuyoshi's character in this drama is so cute. He did a very good job. So did the others who were teachers in the drama such as Takeuchi Yuko and Tanaka Naoki. I recommend this drama to those who like to watch funny dramas and at the same time, also touching!

14.	the school kids were the highlight [Rating: 8/10] this is a fairly amusing drama. in my opinion, most of the credits go to the fascinating bunch of kids. :) they were really adorable & why anyone would actually feel annoyed by them is way beyond my comprehension ^^; dohmoto & takeuchi did a decent job in this drama, but i think they should have indicated their growing fondness towards each other. not a struck-in-the-head realisation towards the end. :p

15.	Enjoyable! [Rating: 9/10] Given the number of titles featuring this genre, it is inevitable that the storyline features plenty of cliches. But of course that does not mean the show isn't good. On the contrary, Gakkou No Sensei managed to string together the various storylines in a balanced and well-crafted fashion, that at the end of the show you can't help but feel sad that the show has ended. The two leads Tsuyoshi & Yuko hams it up as a pair of loggerheads who are staying together under the same roof. But as time goes, one notice the bickering stems from their affection for each other, and thus it was really nice to see them reveal their feeling at the end. Of course this is a show about primary school kids and the despite the selfish and very naughty antics of the Tsuyoshi's class, it was really heartwarming to see how they grew and matured under his care. All in all, this is one of the more meaningful and touching "teaching" drama out there along side GTO:) Enjoy!

16.	Worth a viewing [Rating: 7/10] Enjoyable, a bit predictable but charming nevertheless. The school kids are delightful and Dohmoto and Takeuchi quite amusing.

There was not a lot of romantic development between Sentaro and Motoko, but you know there's definitely a love-hate realationship here... Like 'Hero" and 'Good Luck", Gakkou no Sensei focuses more on the occupation than the romance. Highly enjoyable.

I'm a sucker for teacher-student dramas, I'm a sucker for Tsuyoshi AND I'm a sucker for Kansai-ben spouting enthusiastic guys who loves kids. And the kids are bloody cute and funny, too. Yes yes, another school drama. And the plots are of the same knd as that of the rest of its extended genre. But I seriously prefer this one compared to GTO. For one thing, the kids here are better actors than the students of Musashino Seirin Academy, IMHO. And somehow, the weekly plots and results seem more sincere and less cliched here. In fact, I prefer this drama to Gokusen 2. In other words, I would rate this one second best among the group of school dramas I've watched, the best being Kimpachi-sensei.

Watch! if you can find this drama.
