Twenty-seven years ago Keiichi Kashiwagi lost his father to suicide after the rich and powerful Esei Group took over the family ranch, and Keiichi's beloved Akiko married into the Esei family. Keiichi then swore he would have his revenge. Now, Keiichi is head of his own corporation and running for office in the same electorate as Tatsuya Esei, the man who took Akiko from him long ago. Having fallen on hard times, Tatsuya is trying to marry his daughter Matsue into another rich corporate family, but Akiko remembers her own loveless marriage with remorse and refuses to have her daughter share the same fate. The plot is darkly complex enough to hook you after viewing the first few episodes. Unfortunately, it seems to bog down and drag along laboriously. Slow start, story picks up in the middle. Good twist, not for everyone. A young man who has lost everything vowed to take a revenge against a rich man who took away the love of his life and his dreams. Excellent drama about how an innocent boy becomes a cold and calculating man. Sato Koichi does a fantastic job in the starring role and the rest of the cast are equally as good. While the plot seems a little slow at first, it gets engaging as you go along. Highly recommended. |
