Yup, it's the best way to get dramas and you don't have to deal with downloads. The only thing is that most of us prefer DVD format (actually, that's probably just me Sweat).

Here's a link to the trading/selling/buying threads so you can see who has what:

My favorite drama is GTO, it was also the first drama I watched, so maybe I am a bit jaded. But even going back now and watching it, I still enjoy it alot.

Other than that, the Nodame Cantabile drama is excellent. They really did a great job casting the actors/actresses. They all really fit their roles.

Pretty good. Perhaps a little bit over-the-top but it was addicting enough. Really short episodes too so you can finish it fast.

Depends on your taste. It's a 10/10 for me. I'm pretty unforgiving with ratings when it comes to drama that is not up to my taste. But LIFE is one of the three 10/10 to me among 20+ that I've watched.

I can second that now! One of the best school dramas I've seen, and I think I've seen all the heavy-hitters.

Got RM200 to spare. So please help me pick two from the first group and one from the next two groups:

mystery / suspense / dark

Unfair
Kusenosu / Xenos
Warui Yatsura / Evil People
Byakuyako / Journey Under a Midnight Sun
M no Higeki / The Tragedy of M
Nyokei Kazoku / Matrilineal Family

Light romance

Hotaru no Hikari / Glow of Firelflies
Hataraki Man / Working Man
Sapuri / Supply / Suppliment
Anego

Comedy

Kekkon Dekinai Otoko / The Man Who Can't Get Married / He Who Can't Marry
Papa to Musume no Nanokakan / Seven Days of a Daddy and a Daughter
Erai Tokoro ni Totsuide Shimatta! / I've Been Married To Hell! / Oh! My Mother in Law!
Himitsu no Hanazono / Hanazono's Secret / The Secret Garden

Note: I wouldn't be able to fully enjoy a comedy that relies heavily on script. This is because the subs for the DVDs that I owned are inconsistent so far. Some drama are good, others are horrible (as if they translated japanese to chinese first and then, from chinese to english). Comedy through action, posture and facial expression are preferred.

I've narrowed your list down in terms of the ones I would recommend to you. Many of the ones I took out I haven't seen, tho, so hopefully someone else can chime in as well. Victory! Peace!

Almost the same as Wynter's Victory! Peace! , but just for your info the version of Himitsu no Hanazono I own has really bad subs so I am not sure if this one is for you.

yup, I'll stay at a host family and go to high school - for 11 month.
You can't imagine how glad I am that my dream is finally coming true! *-* (i didn't think it would happen anymore, since the next year is supposed to be my year of graduation ... but suddenly my parents agreed and I'll 'lose' one school year by going abroad)
I'm learning japanese but ...well... I can say the most important things I guess, but in the first month I'll hardly understand anything, I think...

@ topic:

my mother said she'd love to watch a comedy drama that takes place in a

hostpital.
I think I've read about such dramas somewhere in this thread (or somewhere else..?) but I can't find them anymore ....
I think one of them also was in the category "Fantasy"? Oo

Any recommendations?
thanks in advance =3

Thank you! ^^
Yeah, the different names are frustrating. I was looking for Flowers for Algernon, and it had two different japanese names (or tranlated japanese names). Sweat

How about Nurse no Oshigoto? There are 4 seasons all together, I think, but I'm not sure which one is the best.
