I was reading some post-debate reactions from various sources...and this one was particularly funny:

"Gut read. Obama owned it. This election’s over unless he murders and eats the flesh of a child on live television." ~ Will Wilkinson

I was thinking expect McPalin to step up the negative stuff. I figure by Thursday they'll be saying Obama raped Mother Teresa.

Obama owned it alright. From taking McCain's constant saying of Obama doesn't understand and turning it into an attack on McCain's wrong take on going to war with Iraq, to calling out McCain's "bomb bomb bomb" of Iran, Obama was able to counter McCain effectively tonight.

"We will kill bin Laden; we will crush Al Qaeda." - Obama

In a way I'm surprised Obama came out with that, but while McCain did try to spin it as Obama wanting to attack Pakistan, Obama made it clear that going after Bin Laden is important, that if Pakistan can't or won't go after him then the U.S. will. Still, I'm sure the McCain camp had their spinner hats on and will try to make something out of it.

" I'll get Osama bin Laden, my friends. I'll get him. I know how to get him. I'll get him no matter what and I know how to do it." - McCain

So, apparently he knows, but he won't let anyone in on it unless we vote for him. How thoughtful of a guy who puts the country first. Rolling eyes

Obama has done an excellent job of staying on point throughout his campaign, and that has really helped him as McCain has made mistake after mistake. Sure, it has gotten a bit boring listening to the same talking points, but in light of the economy, the war in Iraq, Obama really comes off as even-keeled, steady, even Presidential while McCain just seems to continually struggle.

"That guy." - McCain

Yes Senator McCain. Come Election Day I will be voting for "that guy", Barack Obama. Victory! Peace!

What an idiot McCain is... It shows what a selfish person he is... Obama could've really trumped McCain, if he pointed that out...

There's also "...My friends..."

Talk about a broken record... He's used that term so often, that it's not personable, but hackneyed... Shake Head

The friends Munster was referring to were the bats in the debate hall which were flying around offscreen.

Talk about fanning the flames of hate (From Yahoo! News):

In Florida on Monday, Palin's remarks about Obama and [reputed Weather Underground member William] Ayers elicited waves of booing from supporters. One person at a rally shouted "Kill him!" according to a Washington Post report. A sheriff who introduced Palin at a rally referred to the Democratic candidate as "Barack Hussein Obama."

Shake Head

And he's a law enforcement officer??? That sheriff should have his ass shown the door. Grumble

From Yahoo! News:

Newsweek under fire for not touching up Palin cover photo ( http://www.yahoo.com/s/967288 )

Man, the woman representing the Republicans in the video is having a cow, calling Newsweek an "elitist, liberal magazine."

LOL. hehe

Just ignorance all around. I'm sure supporters will simply say it's fine to bring up Obama's middle name and that if Obama wants to he can bring up McCain's middle name as well. Never mind the fact what a name like Hussein would invoke in the small minds of ignorant people.

Well now, if Palin has supporters shouting "kill him!" as it relates to Obama, she might want to reconsider her words about Obama being pals with terrorists because with that and the Hussein reference apparently she's pals with a few ignorant, hate-filled people. How low these people will go to win is just pathetic. There was another rally with McCain where someone shouted "terrorist" when McCain rhetorically asked who Obama was, yet McCain simply ignored it. No surprise the campaign put a half-assed statement condemning what was said, like they really meant it or something, but both McCain and Palin had their chance during the rallies and just let it slide. Just a really sad state of affairs, and even more so considering there are people out there who are just ignorant and hateful.

To think Cindy McCain actually accused Obama of running "the dirtiest campaign in American history." Apparently Cindy McCain is quite the expert when it comes to American Political History. It seems like the McCain-Palin campaign has expertise in so many places. McCain knows how to win a war because he got his plane shot down and knows how to find bin Laden but won't tell anyone. Palin knows how to deal with Russia since she's nearby and Cindy McCain is a political expert. Yes, real knowledgeable people Shake Head

I just saw a clip where McCain blessed the Cross before he lit it on fire...and then he said he was glad he didn't get the hair transplants yet because the pointy white hat he threw on his head fit a lot more snuggly than he anticipated. He said the hat made him feel more at ease when he addressed the crowd as "White brothers" instead of the played out "My Friends."
