The food there is overpriced for what they serve.

I second that!! Went to that place because the person I was with chose it. bleh

And, as expected, the food was lousy and costed a lot. Grumble

It's a bit shocking how they think because of what ever perceived notoriety, they can charge those prices for what is in large part, "slop."

A better bug than the one my husband's had. bleh

He's reduced to chicken soup.

I, on the other hand, had red pot steamed spinach and tasty broiled chicken and fresh baked sour dough with brie for dinner. Victory! Peace!

THough that sushi plate looks even better! Drooling

Hehe. Molecular gastronomy in the lab requires fine ingredients apparently.

As well as the hamtastic flavored chips. Victory! Peace!

Certainly has taken off in terms of popularity. Fortunately for us living in the big city, we can take advantage of the recent boom.

Speaking of popularity, I saw on the news yesterday (Saturday?) that Umami Burger was going to expand throughout the U.S.... And maybe beyond.

Yeah I read that on a food blog. Smile It's certainly a good burger...not cheap but the couple of times I've been there the ground beef and all the other ingredients tasted fresh and came together to create a yummy burger. A far cry from mass produced food units that hail from franchise restaurants. They don't skimp on the quality of ingredients.

The people they interviewed really liked the burgers... One was an Aussie woman who hoped they open one in Australia.

It definitely tastes dayem good. Waaaaay better than Five Guys' Burgers which was the last "new(er)" burger that I tried. I see say it's worth a try, but I don't know if I would eat there often given the price. Not that I eat that many burgers anyway....I'd rather eat Japanese food. Duh. :beate:

Having said all that a friend of mine wants to have lunch next week, and she mentioned Umami Burger. Go figure.
