What was really offensive was the Bruins' offensive line. They were horrible. Couldn't protect the QB. Running attack averaged 3 yards per carry.

Yup, that too... That game was a prime example of winning ugly.

Now THAT'S a Baylor Bear!!

I wonder if they've ever gotten a penalty for having too many men on the line of scrimmage when they really didn't.

No, but the poor kid did get a penalty for--get this--throwing an illegal forward pass. It happened on a Baylor FG attempt; the kick was blocked and in the ensuing scramble for the ball, the 400-lb. lineman grabbed it and threw it forward. He also happened to be about 10 yards downfield at the time.

Seahawks back to their winning ways. The Packers looked ordinary.

Only when it comes to the Seahawks... Or the Plowboys.

UCLA drops another spot in the rankings after wining a shootout with Memphis on Saturday.

...And USC backs into a win thanks to the general incompetence of the Stanford football team, if not the play calling by head coach David Shaw. Shake Head

Sorry, but I can't root for a Pete Carroll-coached team... The guy is a dirtbag.

You don't need to root for them, just admit they look good.

Who else do you think looks good this year?

I can't... I'm hoping they'll crash and burn.

Great day in college football: UCLA beats Texas, 20-17, and USC loses to Boston College, 37-31. Victory! Peace!

They didn't look so good today... San Diego executed their game plan to perfection and beat the Seahawks impressively.

After two weeks, no one looks dominant.

Bullseye!

Amazing how Seattle is a completely different team on the road than at home. Amazing too how San Francisco just collapsed in the second half against the Bears. The Niners and Hawks are supposed to be the cream of the NFC, but both looked awful yesterday.

Biggest upset yesterday was the Browns beating the Saints. New Orleans is like Seattle--a completely different team on the road than at home.

College football this past weekend had its share of upsets and near upsets. Coaching cost favored Georgia the game against South Carolina. The Bulldogs had first and goal on SC's four-yard-line late in the game and decided to NOT give the ball to arguably the best running back in college football, opting instead for some trickeration that backfired badly. Crazy

UCLA again won, but remember--they beat texas, not TEXAS. Va-Tech crushed Ohio State last week, then lost at home to East Carolina?! Arkansas upset Texas Tech by going old-school and running the ball down the Red Raiders' throat. BC did the same thing in its upset win against USC. The Trojans, who were stout against the run versus Stanford, looked befuddled trying to stop BC's running game. Florida should have been beaten by heavy underdog Kentucky but squeezed out a triple-overtime win with a little luck (their tying TD in the second overtime on fourth down was on a play in which the ball was snapped after the play clock expired).

Hawaii won its first game of the year. Well, at least they didn't wait until the final game of the season to notch its initial victory like they did last year.

Hmm, are the Plowboys for real?

The Seahawks think so now.

I think there's a poll in St. Louis right now that goes:

"I like a coach that's willing to roll the dice and take a chance"

or

"Fisher, you idiot!! What the hell were you thinking?!!?"

Wherever he is AnimeDad must be happy. Seattle beats the living crap out of a pretty good Arizona team 35-6 in Phoenix wrapping up #1 seed in the NFC. 'Hawks have won 5 in a row, 8 out of their last 9. I'd say they're ready for the postseason.

On the ridiculous side, whoever wins the NFC South (and anyone of 3 teams still has a shot) they will do so with a losing record. OMG

I was going to comment on this last week but I've been trying to erase it from my memory. If anybody wants to know what football was like in the 1930's they should have watched this years Army/Navy game. Final passing stats: Navy lit up the sky going 6-for-8 for 77 yards, Army 2-for-7 for 37 yards. Pretty ugly. bleh

Haha yes, the Hawks are looking very good. I'm not sure who in the NFC could take them out at the Clink. The Packers couldn't. The Cowboys did, but that was a long time ago. Most likely they will come up against the Cards again (dead in the water) or the NFC South winner - who is not scaring anyone.

The Hawks still have to beat the Rams first. That's going to be tough. They always play the Hawks hard.
