Gokusen [ごくせん]
This is my very first highschool jdorama, so that's why I really really like it!!!! ^-^
Hanazakari no Kimitachi e [花ざかりの君たちへ]
This is definitely MY FAVE dorama for this year. It's been so long since I laughed so much in watching a dorama, natsukashii na~ Anyways, this dorama cracks me everytime I watched it especially Oscar's scenes and the rest of the Ikemen.
Lunch no Joou [ランチの女王]
With a great cast, good food, funny and heartwarming scenes, who wouldn't want to miss watching this?
Nodame Cantabile [のだめ カンタビ−レ]
This is one of those live-action series which is definitely a must see. You will definitely love the tandem of Ueno Juri and Tamaki Hiroshi.
Proposal Daisakusen [プロポーズ大作戦]
The nice thing about this series is the friendship among Ken, Rei, Eri, Mikio and Tsuru. It's one of those series that I wouldn't mind watching from time to time.
Sekai no chuushin de, ai wo sakebu [世界の中心で、愛をさけぶ]
It's a very dramatic series but also has few funny scenes in it. Hat's down to Ayase for her good acting as Aki.
Summer snow
I really really like this series...this is my TOP 1 Dorama...I liked everything about it ;)
Trick [トリック]
Not just this one but the ENTIRE Trick Series.
Water Boys [ウォーターボーイズ]
A very inspiring series for me...I really loved it...good thing I watched the movie before this ^-^

aiscess's artiste votes (9)
Abe Hiroshi [阿部寛]
He's a very funny guy, that's it! And I like him for that^-^
Ayase Haruka [綾瀬はるか]
A talented young actress. She can both do dramas and comedies. But her notable performance was really Aki in SekaChu.
Hirosue Ryoko [広末涼子]
A very good actress...she can be sweet & adorable can also be irritating & sometimes bad...all in all...she's very versatile when in comes to portraying different roles & she does it really good.
Itoh Misaki [伊東美咲]
I like her when she does comedies. Her acting in dramas is average but I'll definitely watch her when it's a comedy.
Nakama Yukie [仲間由紀恵]
She became a favorite of mine because of Gokusen and Trick. She's so funny in both series.
Oguri Shun [小栗旬]
A very talented young actor...very versatile too...he has done many different characters...with his experience...he will surely have many more dramas, plays & movies to come ^-^
Takeuchi Yuko [竹内結子]
A very talented actress whether its comedy or drama. She doesn’t just cry for the sake of crying but you can really feel the emotions she puts into it. And she’s so cute when she smiles. Hope to see more of her (after years of hiatus from dramas).
Tamaki Hiroshi [玉木宏]
From a supporting to landing his biggest role ever as Chiaki-senpai in Nodama Cantabile. He really did became a good actor. Who would've thought that the funny guy opposite Tsumabuki Satoshi in Waterboys the movie would made it this big. Sugoi!
Yamada Takayuki [山田孝之]
Talented actor...especially in drama series...but I specially like him as Kankuro in Waterboys^0^

13-sai no Hello Work [13歳のハローワーク]
14 sai no Haha [14歳の母]
Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched)
I got my eyes on this series a month before it aired. Well, who wouldn't? Just by seeing the title, I was eagerly waiting to watch it. But now I guess, the series wasn't that complicated compared to it's title. Miki was even lucky to have the guy acknowledged the baby and have her parents stand by her decisions. But usually, now a days, it doesn't just go like that. I guess, reality is still harsh. Even the school.. I doubt that they will do something like that in real life. The song of Mr. Children really complimented the atmosphere of the entire series.
Aikurushii [あいくるしい]
Akai Ito [赤い糸]
Rating: 9/10 (Bought & Watched)
I really loved it! I'm so rooting for Mei and A-kun, they really are meant for each other. Both leads are so young and yet they've already been experiencing a lot about the downside of life most especially Mei (which only started in episode 4), although it didn't really directly happened to them. With a heartwarming theme song from HY, which already says it all, this was really a nice youth romance drama and it's way better than Koizora.
Akihabara@DEEP [アキハバラ@DEEP]
Rating: 7/10 (Bought & Watched)
It was a little bit dark at first but it gets better after every episode. Somehow you become curious and interested as to why Yui died and why she made such a group. I was looking forward as to what case they will be solving in the next episode. Daruma is definitely the one providing the big laughs here with his different cosplay in each episode.
Ame to Yume no atoni [雨と夢の後に]
Anmitsu Hime: Special 1 [あんみつ姫]
Anmitsu Hime: Special 2 [あんみつ姫]
Antique [アンティーク〜西洋骨董洋菓子店]
Rating: 9/10 (Bought & Watched)
Very Funny and the stories of the 4 guys were very interesting not to mention the delicious cakes that they make...yum yum!
Arakawa Under the Bridge [荒川アンダーザ ブリッジ]
Arifureta Kiseki [ありふれた奇跡]
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
The story in episode 1 was promising, meeting while saving a man whose thinking of committing suicide and both lead characters coincidentally have already experienced the same sentiments once in their lives. The story was slow pace, so you might want to discontinue watching it from time to time. The story was average. But I must say that the hobby of those two old men were really just freaking weird, I wonder what would’ve happened if their loved ones found out about it?
Ashita no Kita Yoshio [あしたの、喜多善男]
Rating: 7/10 (Bought & Watched)
This was certainly the most underrated series for the Winter Season. There’s so many emotions you can feel just by watching it: pity of course is one, sorrow, disliking, grief, amusement, disgust and most of all relief after seeing the ending. And I must say, I really felt the creeps everytime Negative Yoshio shows up. But it's not re-watchable.
Asuko March! [アスコーマーチ!]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
At Home Dad [アットホーム・ダッド]
Rating: 9/10 (Bought & Watched)
A family drama about parents switching roles. Abe here was really a father-like figure. His neighbor was also funny especially when Abe keeps stressing at the beginning of the series that guys shouldn't be the one left at home doing the chores. The kids, Rie & Ryota were so cute.
Atami no Sousakan [熱海の捜査官]
Atashinchi no Danshi [アタシんちの男子]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
A fun family drama. Their brand of comedy though reminds me of HanaKimi, Celeb to Binbo and Densha Otoko, since it was written by the same screenwriter. It was really entertaining, easy going and although the story was pretty cliche and somewhat cheesy it didn't stop me from watching it. Big laughs from Tokita, Takeru, Satoru, Masaru, Kyoko, Kokudo and the rest of the bodyguards.
Attack No.1 [アタック No.1]
Rating: 7/10 (Bought & Watched)
A live-action sports drama with some dark moments but has some explanation for that in the latter episodes. It also features teamwork, friendship, envy, jealousy and hard work in achieving their goals. Plus it has some nice execution of volleyball plays.
Attention Please [アテンションン プリース]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
Nice series. Again, it's one of those that inspire you to be like, in this case, a Cabin Attendant.
Bara no nai Hanaya [薔薇のない花屋]
Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched)
I could've give it a 9 but with the tons of twist, it gradually made me less interested. The very last twist ruined it all for me. I guess if that last twist didn't happen then it could have been a big challenge for Shingo's character. I would definitely prefer to see Eiji fight back in order to protect Shizuku, too bad it didn't happen. But I must say, it was really nice to see Takeuchi Yuko back on track, hope to see more of her, she's really a good actress.
Beach boys [ビーチボーイズ]
Rating: 10/10 (Bought & Watched)
Very nice combination of Sorimachi and Takenouechi plus Hirosue. One of my fave dramas. It makes you like the summer season^-^
Beautiful life [ビューティフルライフ]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
Beautiful Rain [ビューティフルレイン]
Beginners! [ビギナーズ!]
Bijo ka Yajuu [美女か野獣]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
Binbo Danshi [貧乏男子 (ボンビーメン)]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
I'm looking forward in watching this series. It's been a while since Shun did a comedy. EDIT: It was a mixture of a human drama, light to exaggerated comedy and friendship. I wouldn't say that I didn't like the ending but I guess adding that marriage thing in the end was not necessary.
Blackjack ni Yoroshiku [ブラックジャックによろしく]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
Boku dake no Madonna [僕だけのマドンナ]
Rating: 7/10 (Bought & Watched)
Didn't got interested in the first few eps but got hooked when things suddenly makes sense and some of the questions were finally answered;)
BOSS
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
The highlight of the series for me was the interrogation scenes and their play-acting, that scene on episode 1 triggered my interest and curiosity for the next episodes. The idea of having different types of people work together is nothing new but having a boss like Osawa Eriko who is an excellent detective to command them and has many tricks up on her sleeves really stole the show not to mention Takenouchi Yutaka’s weird character. The many twists and turn of events makes this series fun and at the same time hilarious, and I must say that the ending really did surprised me though I was hoping that it would eventually turn out that way because I don't want to hate *that character*.
BOSS 2
Brother Beat [ブラザー☆ビート]
Rating: 9/10 (Bought & Watched)
I really like family doramas!
Buzzer Beat ~ Gakeppuchi no Hero [ブザー・ビート]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
I was distracted by another series while I was still watching this, so I didn’t enjoyed it as much as I want to. Although, this was definitely my most anticipated series for Summer 09. Naoki, especially on the first part, had less impact on me, so Riko definitely stole the show together with Mai and then followed by Shuji then Kawasaki and Utsunomiya. I don’t know, it’s just that Naoki’s character was just plain boring that it affected my interest for this series. But the love story was okay, reminds me of Long Vacation.
Byakuyakou [白夜行]
Rating: 6/10 (Bought & Watched)
TBS might have use this kind of story in order to utilize the acting capability of Yamada and Ayase, and they were right, both won an award for that including the series itself. However, as for me, this is just a one time thing, I don’t plan to re-watch it again and besides not everyone can be fond of the story. Their relationship can be beautiful and enviable except for the crime and the killings. I just don’t like the fact that they have to dirty their hands in order to protect one another.
Celeb to Binbo Taro [セレブと貧乏太郎]
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
The story was okay at first but when re-watch the characters starts to get on your nerves. The series was doing okay up until episode 8 but after that, that's when I started to lose interest and wondered why the sudden rush of things like the wedding ceremony. But since it has a happy ending then this is worth a watch.
CHANGE
Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched)
I must say that I am satisfied with it’s ending. If it turned out differently I would’ve given this a lower rating than 8. I was empress as to how they made Asakura’s character, he was not just a puppet prime minister but he really did his best in being one. My favorite episode was definitely the Beverly Hills Donuts/Bingham episode (ep5). By the way, I didn’t like the ending theme, a Japanese song could have been better.
Code Blue 2 [コード・ブルー 2]
(Watched)
Code Blue: Doctor Heli Kinkyu Kyumei [コード・ブルー]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
A typical medical / human drama. The main plot is about 4 trainees being trained to become flight doctors. The subplots consists of their patients conditions/stories, colleagues’ life and their pasts and of course the trainees’ lives and dreams. I gues the only difference compared to other medical dramas is the “Doctor Heli System”. They use Doctor Heli to immediately transport doctors to those in need of medical help and they mostly deal with accidents on a large scale such as in factories, chemical plants, highways etc… And of the 4 trainees, I chose Hiyama because although she’s not as good as Aizawa, she was able to do difficult medical procedures on her own unlike Shiraishi.
Control ~ Hanzai Shinri Sousa [CONTROL〜犯罪心理捜査〜]
Dare Yori mo Mama wo Aisu [誰よりもままを愛す]
Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched)
A nice family drama with a different situation from what we all gotten used to of Tamura Masakazu’s family oriented series. Otousan or should I say Papa is so nice here, always singing, smiling and reminiscing his experiences with Mama plus being the “stay-at-home-dad”. And, instead of him being feared by the children, now it’s the mother. He’s the one doing the begging and stuff so Mama will forgive the faults and mistakes of their children. I had a nice time watching this especially when Pinko-san showed up. I'm really a sucker when it comes to family dramas.
Deka Wanko [デカワンコ]
Dekichatta Kekkon [できちゃった結婚]
Rating: 9/10 (Bought & Watched)
This series is so funny...especially Abe, Takenouchi & Satoshi...But Ididn't like what happened with the 2 leads before the ending.
Densha Otoko [電車男]
Rating: 10/10 (Bought & Watched)
Subarashii!!! It's like a guy version of Cinderella and he has so many fairy godmother. A romatic-comedy series. It's very funny and it's easy to relate too.
Don Quixote [ドン★キホーテ]
Dragon Zakura [ドラゴン桜]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
First High School Dorama that really focuses on studying;)
Engine [エンジン]
Rating: 10/10 (Watched)
Jiro is probably my fave character of Takuya..it's a heartwarming series about people being in a race of their lives^_^
Fighting Girl [ファイティングガール]
Rating: 3/10 (Watched)
Watched ep1-4 then skipped up to the last episode...hmmm...not too interesting for me;(
Fire Boys [ファイアーボーイズ 〜め組の大吾〜]
Rating: 9/10 (Bought & Watched)
I've only watched 3 episodes but this is really the series that I've longed to watched so please sub the remaining episodes already :0
First Kiss [ファースト・キス]
Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched)
This is the first time that I have watched Mao in a different series aside from Hanadan. I was thinking that her character will be like Makino, but she wasn't at all. It was not a cheesy drama considering that the lead character, Mio has an illness. A brother & sister relationship which I can definitely relate to. Added laughs from the supporting casts. And you will definitely love their theme song.
Freeter, Ie o Kau. [フリーター、家を買う。]
Fugoh Keiji [富豪刑事]
Fugoh Keiji 2 [富豪刑事2]
G@me
Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched)
This was a very puzzling movie, just when you thought that it was over...think again.
Gachi Baka ! [ガチバカ !]
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
It's worthwatching but you still can't stop comparing it to other series with the same theme/plot/formula/story.
Gal Cir [ギャルサ]
(Watched)
only ep 4
Galileo [ガリレオ]
Rating: 7/10 (Bought & Watched)
I thought that this will be a dark drama but the atmosphere wasn’t that dark at all. I've been just deceived by the black screen at the start of each episode. The first episode was interesting especially when they did that experiment as to how the suspect did the crime, skipped ep2 was more like an episode of Trick, ep3-8 was also good, ep9-10, I thought that the crime would even be harder to decode but it wasn’t. I was just disappointed as to how they ended it. They could have thought of a better mystery or crime to end the series with as to how they started it.
Ganbatte Ikimasshoi [がんばっていきまっしょい]
Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched)
This is one of those inspirational high school themed series wherein students make a sports club that was not or did not exist in their school. But it became bittersweet towards the end and I felt so sorry for Etsune after putting in so much effort. So for me, even though it was stressed in the last episode, their best race was the qualifying round for the nationals.
Ghost Mama Sousasen [ゴーストママ捜査線]
Gokusen [ごくせん]
Rating: 10/10 (Bought & Watched)
I love the storyline, the cast, the setting. Everything about it. I never get bored watching it. (^-^)
Gokusen 2 [ごくせん2]
Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched)
As expected...I compared every scene in it to the first but...it was ok, I liked the part where all of her students said parting words to her.
Gokusen 3 [ごくせん 3]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
Not again. Why did they made another season of this? It’s more like the writer just rewritten the entire season 1 and a little bit from season 2. They could’ve used other situations from the manga which wasn’t used in season 1. Well anyway, compared to season 2, I think I prefer this one since there were more funny scenes of Yankumi & her family plus Kuma is now married to the girl he liked in season 1 and additional laughs from Kyoto & Baba-sensei. As for Class 3D, this season is probably the worst in terms of acting, Miura and Ishiguro are the only ones tolerable. A very poor acting coming from Takaki Yuya, he should've not imitated Jin's acting in the first place.
Golden Bowl [ゴールデンボウル]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
Kanneshiro & Hitomi were a cute couple...like them when they were always talking while having a match...an anime in a way;)
Good Luck !! [グッドラック!!]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
My fave scenes in it is when they're flying in the air^0^
GTO [麻辣教師]
Rating: 9/10
Sorimachi is so funny in it and he & Nanako had great chemistry. I liked the part wherein step by step, he is getting the trust among his students.
Guilty Akuma to Keiyakushita Onna [ギルティ 悪魔と契約した女]
H2~Kimi to itahibi [2〜君といた日々]
Rating: 9/10 (Bought & Watched)
They should've focused more on baseball and less on the love story but overall it was a good series ;)
Hachimitsu to Kuroba [ハチミツとクローバー]
Rating: 5/10 (Bought & Watched)
I never read the manga nor seen the anime, that's why I can only compare this to the movie. This is "as good as it gets" for me or should I say, should have been for me. But it seems like, because the screenwriter was from ProDai and Toma was from Hana Kimi, they were trying to do the same formula as those two successful series but it turned out differently and the ratings had proved that.
Hana Yori Dango [花より男子]
Rating: 10/10 (Watched)
LOVE IT!!! Waiting for the 2nd season;)
Hana Yori Dango 2 [花より男子]
Rating: 7/10 (Bought & Watched)
So much expectation and yet got pretty much disappointed.
Hanawake no Yon Shimai [華和家の四姉妹]
Hanayome to Papa [花嫁とパパ]
Rating: 9/10
Another father and daughter series with a lot of laugh and tears. I'll give it a 9 coz my family loved it.
Hanazakari no Kimitachi e [花ざかりの君たちへ]
Rating: 10/10 (Bought & Watched)
This is definitely MY FAVE dorama for this year. It's been so long since I laughed so much in watching a dorama, natsukashii na~ Anyways, this dorama cracks me everytime I watched it especially Oscar's scenes and the rest of the Ikemen.
Haruka 17 [はるか 17]
Hero
Rating: 9/10
Yet again another interesting and funny series.
Higashino Keigo Mysteries [東野圭吾ミステリーズ]
Himitsu [秘密]
Himitsu no Hanazono [ヒミツの花園]
Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched)
A fun and enjoyable series but it start off very weak. But it gets better after each episode especially when Tsukiyama’s character started to get along with the 4 brothers. I had fun watching Maya Miki and Terajima Susumu, they really did bring the laughs here. This is one series you can watch without worrying too much about the plot and it’s ending. Not really a must see but it’s worth a try.
Hito ni Yasashiku [人にやさしく / 3ピース]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
Funny and a little loud!
Hotaru no Hikari [ホタルノヒカリ]
Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched)
A light romantic comedy. One of those series that you had fun from watching. Not too much conflict but I must say that Ayase and Nao’s character interaction at first was a little weak but it gets better after each episodes. Definitely a good performance from Ayase. Too bad her love interest here was as stiff as a rock, a different actor could’ve brought justice in portraying Makoto.
Hotaru no Hikari 2 [ホタルノヒカリ]
Hotman [ホットマン]
Rating: 9/10 (Bought & Watched)
A very heartwarming family dorama.
Hotman 2 [ホットマン2]
Rating: 8/10
I just can't help but to compare it to the first season, especially now that Ito Misaki is the one portraying Shima instead of Konishi Manami. I really felt that the presence of Shima, portrayed by Konishi, was the one missing in this series which was more like a mother-like figure. And so, I felt like Nanami lost a mother and Enzo gained another sister.
Hungry! [ハングリー!]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
HUNTER ~Sono Onnatachi, Shoukin Kasegi~ [HUNTER〜その女たち、賞金稼ぎ〜]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
Ichi Ritoru no Namida [1リットルの涙]
Rating: 10/10 (Bought)
A very sad series...but it's so expiring. Especially, the way she devoted all her remaining time in writing her diary. This series is so touching. The songs also helped in making the scenes even more emotional. THUMBS UP!
Ikebukuro West Gate Park [池袋ウエストゲートパーク]
Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched)
This is a very interesting dorama to watch. But if you don't like gangs, violence & blood then this dorama is not for you.
Ikemen Desu Ne [美男ですね]
Iki mo Dekinai Natsu [息もできない夏]
IS ~Otoko Demo Onna Demo Nai Sei~ [IS〜男でも女でもない性〜]
Itazura na Kiss [イタズラなKiss]
Rating: 6/10 (Bought & Watched)
It seems like a one-sided love all throughout the series until the very last scene. The ending was pretty much edited out. At the latter part, I kinda started to get annoyed at Kotoko always calling or even shouting 'Irie-kun'.
Itoshi Kimie [愛し君へ]
Rating: 7/10 (Bought & Watched)
This may seem a star-studded cast, having Ito Misaki and Tamaki Hiroshi as supporting cast plus Okada Yoshinori. Nao did a good job, he really does fit this kind of characters. I also liked Shiki's relationship with his Dad, I cried in their scene by the river. Plus the mealtime scenes of Shiki's family and friends. It wasn't that draggy until the last few eps. I was just glad that the ending wasn't a cliff hanger.
Itsumo futari de [いつもふたりで]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
A so-so series. I guess if only Kashiwabara Takashi didn't left after ep3, some things could've out differently regarding Matsu and his character. It seems like his character was out of the spotlight after that. But it's still a good thing that it has a nice theme song.
Jikou Keisatsu [時効警察]
Rating: 9/10 (Bought & Watched)
For the story, I gave it an average of 8. Since it’s renzoku, meaning an episode can stand on its own, I gave each episode a different rating. Additional point for the humor, which will be pretty much appreciated if you really understand Japanese. All in all it was a funny and interesting series eventhough you might already know the suspect the moment the case is being introduced. The fun part was trying to figure out how did the crime took place. Big laughs from Odagiri Joe, Aso Kumiko, Toyohara Kosuke and the rest of the gang.
JIN [JIN-仁-]

Keibuho Yabe Kenzo [警部補 矢部謙三]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
Kekkon Dekinai Otoko [結婚できない男]
Rating: 10/10 (Watched)
What can I say? Abe Hiroshi did it again and he did won best actor for it. Probably not the best drama for 2006 but it did won as best drama for the summer of 2006.
Kiken na Aneki [危険なアネキ]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
Dramedy series about siblings. I can relate actually. Great chemistry between Itoh Misaki & Moriyama Mirai. With very funny supporting casts.
Kimi wa Petto [きみはペット]
Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched)
Its very funny and the plot is very interesting...jun is so cute as Momo and Koyuki is so sophisticated as Sumire-chan ^-^
Kisarazu Cat's Eye [木更津キャッツアイ]
Rating: 10/10 (Watched)
Finally, the long wait is over. I've finally watched it. It's so funny and of course with some touching scenes but all in all it was GREAT! Hope to watch the Nihon & World series someday;)
Koishite Akuma [恋して悪魔]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
Regardless of its below 10 average rating, this is definitely the series I enjoyed in Summer 09. Honestly, I rarely watch May-December affairs but this was an exception. Probably because the pairing of Nakayama and Kato clicked for me, they were so cute together. As for the ending, it was really inevitable but good thing they didn't end up like Romeo and Juliet. Although it was still sad, having another person besides Makoto who remembers him was a bonus. And I must say that the story is a shojo manga material. Plus, I also liked that certain sad bgm which was played throughout the series.
Koishite Shinitai [恋して死にたい]
Rating: 7/10
Kokosei Restaurant [高校生レストラン]
Kou Kou Kyoushi 2003 [高校教師 2003]

Good series but I guess it's still lacking something...
Kyumei Byoto 24 Ji 3 [救命病棟24時 3]
Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched)
A really well made series..it's as if Tokyo has been really hit by a big earthquake..it also shows how people pick uo themselves after a fall..a very inspiring series indeed..plus it can also be a reference..if something..I hope not..occurs like that in our life.
LADY ~ Saigo no Hanzai Profile ~ [LADY〜最後の犯罪プロファイル〜]
Last Christmas [ラストクリスマス]
Rating: 9/10 (Bought & Watched)
Oda Yuji & Yada Akiko's tandem in it was great...the story wasn't that cheesy coz it wasn't really focused on Yuki's ailment. All in all it was a feel good series to me.
Last Friends [ラスト・フレンズ]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
I could have given this a 6 but since it still had a happy ending I gave it a 7. Acting wise, it’s average for Masami, I’m not just fond of Juri and Ryo’s characters although they acted well. Takeru is probably my favorite since he’s the one that help both Michiru and Ruka in their problems. But the thing is, I don’t really like the story, it’s just that I like most of the casts in it.
Liar Game [ライアーゲーム]
Rating: 7/10 (Bought & Watched)
This starts off with poor acting and a weird atmosphere given by the BGM’s but getting past episode 1 & 2 is the key to really get interested in the entire series. Episode 3 until 11 was really as suspense as ever. Added thrills from characters such as Fukunaga Yuji & Yokoya. I don’t know but this series kind of reminds me of the anime “HunterXHunter” except for the killings.

One of those series that I almost not seen but good thing I was able to. First thing first, my rating for the first round would be 7 because the series really became interesting on the second round. And because I’m satisfied with the way they end up with their own partners, all in all, my rating is 8.5.

Lunch no Joou [ランチの女王]
Rating: 10/10
This series was shown in 2002 and I’ve watched it in 2006. Look how most of the cast has already starred in their own dramas and already made it big since then. I’m so happy that I’ve got to watch it. It’s funny, heartwarming and most of all the food looks so delicious. I was really looking forward to the next dish that they will feature. Takeuchi Yoko did a great job in making me hungry while watching her eat an ‘omurice’. This is definitely a must see.

Manhattan Love Story [マンハッタン ラブストーリー]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
The first episode was not good, I don't really like the love story of A and B, but it got better the following episodes. And it got so hilarious from the middle towards the end. I guess Shinobu's confession started it all. Amidst all the confusion, twist and turn of events, I'm just glad that the couple I cheered on really ended up together.
Mei-chan no Shitsuji [メイちゃんの執事]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
I can’t help but compare it to Hana Kimi. This has a more solid story but it was less entertaining and less funnier although it also has some funny moments, it just not cracks me up as Hana Kimi. The storyline was a typical manga/anime story with characters so familiar to me. But I must say that this has more hint of romance going on between the two leads. I guess this series turned out okay because they clearly stayed true to the manga.
Meitantei Conan: Sayonara Made no Prologue [名探偵コナン- 工藤新一への挑戦状]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
I'm a fan of the anime series so of course I'll watch the this one. Much to my disappointment. I like both Oguri and Tomokawa for their respective roles especially Jinnai Takanori who really fit the role of Mori Kogore. But the only letdown was the case. It was so plain and simple. I easily spotted the killer the moment it appeared. 2nd Special: I give it a 9. This is much more exciting and interesting than the first one. But the only disappointment would be the child portraying Conan. Wasnt there anyone else to play this role?

TV Asahi somehow amazes me with their brand of mystery comedy just like Trick. This is definitely a nice series although at first I felt that Kitagawa Keiko’s acting was a little off especially on the crying scenes but I got used to it and she and Tanihara Shosuke had a nice chemistry together. One is a muscle maniac, the other is a foreigner manic, what a weird combination, really! My favorite episodes would episode 9 and 5 but special mention to episode 7 since I was surprise of its ending.

MR. BRAIN
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
This series, although original, reminds me of Galileo and SP (for the last 2 episodes). The highlight of the show for me was Nakama Yukie and Gackt’s episodes respectively. Although if rank accordingly would be: the most interesting is by Nakama Yukie, second would be Gackt then third would be Sato Takeru, then the last 2 episodes tied with the first one and lastly, Kame’s episode because there is no need for a scientist to figure that one out, a detective would do. Although this was a fun series, I can't helped but notice the poor acting performances from the main characters especially from Kimura, Kagawa and Mizushima.

Ironically, in this series the Yakuza's, which are known to have been abandoned or have lost their parents from an early age, are sent to train in an institution for the elderly where the grandpa's and grandma's there are also abandoned by their own children. Some episodes can really make you emotional, special mention to episode 9. As for the ending, I had a feeling it would end that way since most occupational jdramas do, but the leadership position came in as a surprise. A very nice performance from Kusanagi Tsuyoshi.

Nodame Cantabile [のだめ カンタビ−レ]
Rating: 10/10 (Bought & Watched)
This is one of those live-action series which is definitely a must see. You will definitely love the tandem of Ueno Juri and Tamaki Hiroshi. Ueno is very funny and lovable as Nodame. As for Chiaki, it’s been a while since I’ve watched Tamaki in a comedy, or should I say, done a comedy since “Waterboys: The Movie” but he’s still as funny as ever. Added laughs from Eita & Kaede Kosuke (both from Waterboys Season 1&2 respectively). And you will definitely be mesmerized by the musical pieces that they feature every episode.

I don't know why but I didn't like this series. It was even harder for me to even finish it. This was really not my cup of tea.
Proposal Daisakusen [プロポーズ大作戦]
Rating: 10/10 (Bought & Watched)
I began to cheer for Ken in the first few episodes, but then at the latter half, I became impatient and started to pity him. Still, Rei also got some issues of her own so you can't blame her for that. And the thing that I really like in this series was the friendship among the 5 of them. Plus the pictures, I was really looking forward to the next photo in the slide show. All in all, this was a nice romantic/friendship/comedy drama.
Propose Kyodai [プロポーズ兄弟]
Puzzle [パズル]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
From the creators of Trick, I have a feeling that this could have the fourth season but due to some reasons it didn't pushed through and so Puzzle was born. From the subplots itself and Ayukawa's nature of being greedy, it was definitely a clone of Trick and the way they relieve how the crime took place reminds me of Mop Girl. It was fun and entertaining but their treasure hunting always ends up to nothing and they accidentally get involved in murder cases. A younger version of Trick although the original is still the best.

ROOKIES [ルーキーズ]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
This series focuses on a suspended baseball team and a teacher(not really a coach) helps them to play again to achieve their dream of going to Koshien and their struggles along the way. It doesn't have the 'teacher saves all' format at the end of each episodes but it has the 'teacher wins their trust' theme and it has more reality/drama in it. Acting wise - Koide, Takaoka, Nakao(ep1), Kawamura(towards the end) & Kiritani(for comic relief) did a good job. I wasn't really convince with Hayato's acting and as for Sato Ryuta, a little bit of improvement is needed. I didn't like the ending theme at first but I guess it just grows on you after 11 episodes. Overall, the only letdown for me was there were less baseball games than I expected.
Runaway ~Aisuru Kimi no Tame ni~ [ランナウェイ〜愛する君のために]
Ruri no shima [瑠璃の島]
Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched)
I did not expect too much from it but honestly I was interested. It was getting used to at first with some heartwarming and emotional scenes in the first 3-4 episodes. But then, after finishing the series, you start to miss everyone. That’s why, I was lucky enough to have watched it up to the Special. On the side note about the 2007 Special, it was nice to see again the pairing of Narumi Riko and Kamiki Ryunosuke after their short love story in Wedding Planner (2002). Look how both they’ve grown!
Ryusei no Kizuna [流星の絆]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
Honestly, I thought that this would be a dark drama just like Byakuyako, since both has the same writer, but then, why they asked Kudo Kankuro to do the screenplay? It really made no sense, so when their swindling adventures began, that’s when I realized, that is Kudo’s specialty. At first, I was pretty much interested on their swindling adventures rather than the main plot but it shifted halfway through. But still, it was their swindling escapade that made me really hooked on this series. As for the culprit, he was the first person I suspected, so it really came as a surprise when I learned that I was right all along. But what a lame excuse for committing such a crime, 2 lives were lost because of that.

Seigi no Mikata [正義の味方]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
This was definitely my favorite drama for summer’08. It was really entertaining and funny though at first I thought it would be the weakest of the series’ I’ve watched for this summer. It was nice to see Shida Mirai do a comedy and act as a normal student, away from her image in 14sai no Haha. And as for Yamada Yu’s character, I must admit that I was never fond of Makiko but I kinda started to laugh at her in episode 9 towards the end and besides I would not have enjoyed this series if it weren’t for her torturing everyone especially Yoko. Others may be a little bit disappointed of its ending because it still favored Makiko but I was pretty much okay with it. So, I guess the only way for Yoko to escaped her sister’s wrath is to get married herself… or maybe not ;p

Seito Shokun! [生徒諸君!]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
About a passionate teacher being hired to be the homeroom teacher of a so-called “problematic class” and she tries so hard to be accepted and trusted by the students. I guess the only thing that sets this apart from other school dramas is the fact that the *entire class* had experienced a terrible incident before the story took place which prevents them from not opening-up and trusting adults ever again. And so, after things settled down, it all comes down to a certain student which has the biggest grudge because of the things experienced since childhood. And as for the ending, there was nothing new at all. But I must say that I really liked YUI’s song. “My Generation.”

sekushii boisu ando robo [セクシーボイスアンドロボ]
Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched)
I didn't like it at first but when I watched it for the second time I enjoyed it so much. Robo always cracks me up with his "ittadakimax". It's just that Niko didn't really make use of her powers that much in the story. This is more of a human drama than a mystery.

Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched)
A sneak peak of what’s happening behind the camera. That caught my attention, so I decided to give this series a try. But then, when they’re about to start filming, conflicts starts pouring in on Kyoko’s character. So, instead of us seeing the whole drama process, which I was really excited about, it was cut off since that was not really the main plot. And what’s worse, when they’re about to start making a drama again, it all ends there. Oh, how I was wish there’ll be another series that will really focus on this kind of workplace.
Shibatora [シバトラ]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
I was deceived by this series. This wasn't a comedy at all, it's more like of a mystery undercover human drama. Although there were funny scenes, it still didn't change the mood for me. But I must admit that I got curious about the Onigami episodes which started at the last part of ep1 to 4 and eventually included on the last episode.
Shika Otoko Aoniyoshi [鹿男あをによし]
Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched)
This was a nice and interesting series. It may seem weird at first because of the hidden mysteries and historical references, but that's why you become interested. Especially with what the deer said at the beginning, about finding the eye, you then will wonder what kind of eye is it talking about. Anyways, I had fun watching these not the typical all out comedy but it still brings some laughs. And I liked Tamaki and Ayase's chemistry here.

Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
This series reflects Japan's prejudice, discrimination and unfair judgment upon foreigners, but despite all that the lead character tries his hardest in life to reach his dream of having his own multiracial restaurant. Oh well... Jun's acting was so disappointing it ruined the drama for me, he's really not good in crying scenes, he just can't cry when he's supposed to, I mean he can't cry at all. While on the other hand, I was impressed with Nakai Kiichi's performance, he was an effective lawyer.

The very first serious police drama for me. Though it has some funny scenes as well, this is really as serious as it gets. I must say that I’m impressed with the fight scenes, well choreographed compared to the other dramas I’ve watched so far. And for me the highlight of the series aside from the last story is of course Story II: The Hospital Siege. The director really did a great job here. Hope to see the movie!

This was really passable especially if you’ve seen the movie. The movie was short and sweet and it really focused on Amane Kaoru’s life while the drama was just partly of that because aside from the guy being the lead, they added many other characters such as Asami who is a recording artist whom Kaoru admires and has a past with Koji. Although forming a band was nice and Kaoru also has good songs in here plus the Power Ranger scenes were cute, the ending really ruined it all. The ending in the movie was better although it was also sad, it was still nicely done compared to this.
Tatta Hitotsu no Koi [たったひとつの恋]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
This was really a nice love story but I just didn't like the pairing of Kame & Ayase. Acting wise, Ayase deserved a better lead actor. There wasn't really a chemistry between them, it felt like they just acted out their own roles. I can't seem to feel that connection. Good thing, there was a cute side story between Yuko and Ko.

A typical medical/human drama but this time, it concentrates on forensics or so it says on the synopsis but it’s also a detective drama since Eita’s character investigates what really happened with the dead bodies they examined. I like Daiki’s quirkiness, how he prefers food with the way they ordinarily or plainly are. I also like Daiki and Aki's cute moments together. Too bad Toma's acting was the same as always, I wonder when he'll work on that, he might just continue to get the same roles in the future.

I really like Misaki Ito when she does comedies like this. I think FujiTv’s brand of comedy fits my taste perfectly. I thought at first that it will not be suited for me because of it’s title but it wasn’t at all. Well, I guess it depends on one’s perspective. Not too much conflicts or whatsoever, and they added a little romance in the latter part.

Yasashii Jikan [優しい時間]
Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched)
For the story, I give it an 7 and +1 for the setting, since I come from a country with no winter season. About the fated reunion, since it's father and son, and not the usual father and daughter or mother and son, their reuniting scene was not too emotional. I was not really surprise. Master's misunderstandings of Taku was already answered as the episodes went on so it was not that hard for him when they finally saw each other. But not on Taku's case though.
Yasuko to Kenji [ヤスコとケンジ]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
Although there were a lot of over the top acting and gang themed scenes, both NTV's forte, this drama was so entertaining and cute, especially the delusional scenes of Yasuko and Erika about Jun and Kenji. I also find Kenji and his gang so funny when they're doing their manga or just being together, it probably reminded me of Gokusen because of Mosu. By the way, Tabe Mikako's character also reminded me of her character in Yamada Taro Monogatari. All in all, this was a nice family romance action drama plus it has a happy ending.

Overall, I give it a 7.5. Their acting may seem lame or exaggerated at first but once you get used to it then you become interested. For me, it was around episode 8 that I really started to like this series. Kaga Takeshi was really hilarious on that episode. I guess, patience is a virtue, you just got to have the hang of it, so you can finish the entire series. But I must say that the story gets better after each episode (except ep5) and it was ended nicely. EDIT: Surprisingly, I had fun watching them the second time around.

Binbo Danshi [貧乏男子 (ボンビーメン)]
Bombee Men [Rating: 8/10]
This was actually a breath of fresh air from Shun, after being type cast as the silent/mysterious character in dramas since 2005. But.. I guess it was overdoing it a little, most especially in episode 1. There were even times that I really resented his acting & his character. Good thing, it lessens as the story went on. The situation was more realistic but the lead character wasn't so that's why the way he handled it was different from what a normal person would do. I started liking it at around ep4, that’s when I really started laughing at Shun’s character plus the scenes with Shiraishi that would always end up in him hugging Shiraishi. Also, the scene when Koyama was counting the money while Omu Omu keep on distracting him and don’t forget the weird scenes with his mother. All in all, it was a mixture of a human drama, light to exaggerated comedy and friendship. I wouldn't say that I didn't like the ending but I guess adding that marriage thing in the end was not necessary.

First of all, this is closely related to GTO not Gokusen and because the teacher wasn't a former gang member nor a yakuza, there were less violence but, there were many incidents of bullying. Still, the main plot is about a passionate teacher being hired to be the homeroom teacher of a so-called “problematic class” and she tries so hard to be accepted and trusted by the students. And as for the ending, it was practically the same with the 2 dramas mentioned above, nothing new at all. But I must say that I really liked YUI’s song. “My Generation.”

Tanoshii!!! [Rating: 9/10]
I like the story very much. The actors/actress did a good job. I also like the funny scenes with Yui & Manato/Yui & Saeki. And eventhough Sawamura is the other girl in this series, she's not like the other girls' in other doramas that seeks revenge after being heartbroken, instead she helps Manato to be true to himself and let him confess his feelings to Yui.
Water Boys [ウォーターボーイズ]
Synchro!!!Synchro!!!Synchro!!! [Rating: 9/10]
It's very funny and very inspiring series. I loved the way they did their best to reach their goal of doing synchronized swimming for their last year in high school.
Zettai Kareshi [絶対彼氏]
Okaeri, Sweet Heart... Ai wo Arigato! [Rating: 9/10]
This was a cute and fun series. I wasn’t expecting anything from it so that’s why I really enjoyed watching it. The three leads really did a good job plus additional laughs from the supporting casts. I was really convince by Mokomichi’s performance as a robot and he really did prepare for his role. Aibu Saki went passed my expectation since she was always a supporting cast and this was really her very first lead in a full length drama series. While Hiro was the same old Nanba-senpai and I like him for that. As for the ending, I already know it would turn out that way but still, seeing it really makes me sad. And I must say that the BGM's here really fit the different moods in the series plus the ending theme, it was really nice to hear "Okaeri..." at the end of each episodes.
