Ikebukuro West Gate Park [池袋ウエストゲートパーク]
IWGP knows its extremities best and does not try to hide its vulgarity, which resulted in the most splendid rough series I've ever watched! The huge cast is full of wacky personalities that will either make you laugh silly or twitch in uneasiness, but a great job done by everyone nonetheless. Kubozuka Yosuke is the most outstanding actor here imho, perfect as the weirdly influential fun leader of the G-Boys. This drama is exceptionally funny and twisted and full of violence; defintiely not for the faint-hearted but highly recommended to everyone searching for a great hellride!
Nobuta wo Produce [野ブタ。をプロデュース]
Nobuta is absolutely fun! It was charming and immensely touching at times, the friendship theme really got to me. The ending was highly satisfying too. I thought Kame was awesome here. He was natural and full of vigor and I could feel the excitement just watching him act. I wasn't that crazy over Yamapi's act though, but I grew to like him in the end too. His antics cracked me up a lot after I warmed up to him. But really, it was Kame who shone the brightest here. Everyone who likes a hillarious and sweet show centred on high school life should definitely check this out.
Tiger & Dragon [タイガー&ドラゴン]
This is possibly Kankuro's best work for me. It's a show that showcases Kankuro's bizarre imagination at its peak, filled with crack characters, crazy situations, hillarious dialogues and great storylines. Complementing it is the awesome cast that has done their parts so well that almost every role here turns out to be my favourite portrayal from an actor. Highly amusing and funny, this fantasy-like drama is definitely one of the greatest series I've seen that truly defines the saying "imagination knows no boundaries".
Water Boys Season 2 [ウォーターボーイズ2]
One of the best moodlifters ever. This show makes me feel totally refreshed and uplifted and motivated - it's a great show to watch when you're feeling down or lost in life. The movie is fun, the first series wasn't that good though, but this second season is just awesome. Ichihara Hayato and Ishihara Satomi were really impressive in it. The synchro moves are more intense and beautiful than ever. This drama is an excellent tale of growing up, working hard and building understanding among family and peers alike. It will defintiely move the hearts of all who cherish such values.

Ikuta Toma [生田斗真]
Toma is always at his best in any role he plays. He's a natural in front of the camera. It's always pleasant to him in dramas and the mere mention of his name in a cast excites me to catch the series. A very happening actor.
Ito Hideaki [伊藤英明]
Ito is like the purest, most authentic Japanese looking dude you'll find in J-showbiz. Everything about him oozes his locality; that kind of uniquity left me a deep, unforgettable impression since the day I first saw him. His work on Yasha has turned me into a loyal fan of his, as his great acting and diversity there was a startling contrast to his role in Umizaru.
Kamenashi Kazuya [亀梨和也]
Kame's always so fun and entertaining on screen. He's pretty much himself when he acts, and I like that kind of spontaneity he always portrays through his characters.
Kimura Takuya [木村拓哉]
KimuTaku is powerfully charismatic and attention-grabbing on screen. They don't call him the GOD of J-entertainment for nothing.
Kubozuka Yosuke [窪塚洋介]
Besides being an excellent versatile actor, he also has a very cute-ish voice that tends to enhance the characters he portrays. His good acting skill makes me want to watch every show he has ever acted in.
Nakajima Yuto [中島裕翔]
I first noticed him in Nobuta. All I can say is, he's the darndest cutest boy I've ever seen! His voice is very unique, and he's highly humorous. Shows a lot of potential.
Ninomiya Kazunari [二宮和也]
Nino is a brilliant actor who knows exactly the kind of facial expression needed in a scene and executes it perfectly. He has the rare ability to exude real, raw emotions through his eyes and mouth and voice, and that never fails to give me goosebumps and touch my heart. Hailed as the next big thing in Japan, I guess I'm not the only one mesmerised by his amazing depth and talent.
Oguri Shun [小栗旬]
Oguri Shun is a total bishie with that height and cool look. He's very diverse and professional; in fact he's one of the few actors who have managed very well in his acting career. I think he's been around for 10 years or more and his popularity keeps growing.
Yamashita Tomohisa [山下智久]
Though he may not show much diversity in his roles, his good looks makes any show pleasantly watchable. It's true that it doesn't hurt to have such perfect features. :)

1 Pound no Fukuin [1ポンドの福音]
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
Exaggerated but it makes it entertaining else I didn't think the attention would hold for long. Mediocre story.
14 sai no Haha [14歳の母]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
A happy touching show. Never knew Shida Mirai could act so well, and she was just 13 too. Recommended for everyone who likes dramas that make them cry a lot.
Abunai houkago [あぶない放課後]
Akihabara@DEEP [アキハバラ@DEEP]
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
The dumb, cheesy ending spoiled this for me. Else it would have been pretty good for all its dark, creepy but weird and amusing otaku references. Either way, if you're somewhat interested in the otaku culture, this can be quite an interesting show. Daruma scares me to hell, though Toma gave a very good performance here.
Akimahende! [あきまへんで!]
Anego [アネゴ]
Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched)
Not bad at all. The show really grows on me, although after finishing this, I can't help but wonder what was I doing watching this? Frankly I just don't see the point of this series even if I did quite enjoy it. I guess the story isn't that impressionable even if it's fun in a way.
Antique [アンティーク〜西洋骨董洋菓子店]
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
Asuka e, Soshite Mada Minu Ko e [飛鳥へ、そしてまだ見ぬ子へ]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
Attention Please [アテンションン プリース]
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
A heartwarming but painfully cliched drama. Ueto borderlines on overreacting at times but overall she gave quite an entertaining performance if a little annoying. The storyline is simple and straightforward but Misaki's antics at least gave the show a little spice to prevent it from being downright boring.
Bambino! [バンビーノ!]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
Great acting by MatsuJun and Sato Ryuta. Storyline's pretty repetitive but nevertheless fun to watch. Will make you crave for Italian food. :)
Beach boys [ビーチボーイズ]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
A heartwarming series. Great when you're feeling down or in the mood for something cheerful. Plot-wise, I guess it can get a bit repetitive as each episode deals with someone's personal problem. But still, this is an overall touching series that will perhaps make you feel that life is great after all. Sweet and almost innocent-like.
Beautiful life [ビューティフルライフ]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
It's a typical love story where a sick person is involved. You've seen it in Summer Snow, in Ichi Ritoru no Namida, in Sekai no Chuushin, and probably in a lot more other dramas. I'll give it credit for being one of the early original ones, but if you've seen one too many shows with the same theme, then it's really nothing special.
Bengoshi no Kuzu [弁護士のくず]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
Good acting.
BOSS
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
I was expecting something good judging by its drama awards, but turned out it's just a typical detective drama. Nothing new, nothing special, just very normal.
Buzzer Beat ~ Gakeppuchi no Hero [ブザー・ビート]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
Nice romantic drama, love the chemistry between Yamapi and Keiko. Great music!
Byakkotai [白虎隊]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
An interesting historical piece, but pacing is a tad slow.
CHANGE
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
Densha Otoko [電車男]
Rating: 4/10 (Watched)
I think I enjoyed this till episode 3 or 4 before I got sick of the stereotypings in general. No offence, but this show is a total embarassment to otakus unlike Densha here. Dumb, boring and unimpressive acting from both main leads. The male went overboard with his expressions while the female's expressions are mostly off.
Dragon Zakura [ドラゴン桜]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
This show is surprisingly GOOD! I thought it would be another GTO-ripoff but it's not and it's special in its own way. Watching this gives me a lot of motivation and confidence to do well in my exams too. Very, very helpful drama. XD
Engine [エンジン]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
I really like the first few episodes; they are impressive and energetic. But as it goes on, it gets a bit repetitive and loses its special touch. Nevertheless, the ending is good and it makes up for the boring parts in 2nd half.
Gachi Baka ! [ガチバカ !]
Rating: 4/10 (Watched)
Boring. Another GTO spin-off. Seriously, they need to stop producing all these dramas with the same theme. It's getting old.
Galileo [ガリレオ]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
Watch this if you like answers on mysterious phenomenas. It's a refreshing take on detective dramas.
Ganbatte Ikimasshoi [がんばっていきまっしょい]
Rating: 5/10 (Watched)
Hm.. I was bored. The drama jsut didn't do it for me. Pretty childish stuff so to say. It didn't have that emotional impact that makes sports dramas great for me. Ryo parts were the only thing that kept me going.
Gokusen [ごくせん]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
I had very high hopes for this simply because everyone told me it's like GTO. Yes, it is like GTO but it isn't as good imho. Reason is this feels too much of a ripoff so I didn't really enjoy the story. There are lots of cheesy stuff too. But in the end, i grew to like it anyway since some parts were really hillarious and others just plain touching. And Shun looks so cool!
Gokusen Season 2 [ごくせん2]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
just as cheesy as gokusen 1.. but similarly enjoyable too. well, at least kame and jin are hot. ><
Gokusen Season 3 [ごくせん 3]
Rating: 5/10 (Watched)
GTO [麻辣教師]
Rating: 10/10
This is possibly my 1st ever drama and I LOVE IT! I LOVE TAKASHI! I love the story! It's so exciting and addictive and funny!
Hachimitsu to Kuroba [ハチミツとクローバー]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
Heartwarming drama but wasn't as emotional as I hoped for. Tons better than the movie (except for Hagu's role) but nothing beats the anime.
Haikei, Chichiue-sama [拝啓、父上様]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
I find this drama highly amusing and hillarious, with a very poetic style to it. The show has a lot of depth and the music is beautiful. It's the first Nino drama that I've completed, and it made me realise just how awesome an actor he is. In every episode, he never failed to amaze me.
Hana Yori Dango [花より男子]
Rating: 10/10 (Watched)
Awesome series; double the fun and excitement of the Taiwanese version. Forget about the other one and get head over heels over this one! Guaranteed to make all girls go ga-ga!
Hana Yori Dango Season 2 [花より男子]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
Hanayome to Papa [花嫁とパパ]
Rating: 7/10
The first half is simply hillarious! Otousan's exaggerated reactions are way too funny! Unfortunately, the story got draggy and repetitive towards the end.
Handoku [ハンドク]
Himitsu no Hanazono [ヒミツの花園]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
Hotaru no haka [蛍の墓]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
It's not as emotional as the animated movie, but it's still an engrossing watch.
Ichi Ritoru no Namida [1リットルの涙]
Rating: 10/10 (Watched)
Very touching, tear-jerking and heartbreaking. You will definitely feel sad and/or cry in every episode. Erika is amazing as Aya, no doubts about her acting.
Ikebukuro West Gate Park [池袋ウエストゲートパーク]
Rating: 10/10 (Watched)
IWGP knows its extremities best and does not try to hide its vulgarity, which resulted in the most splendid rough series I've ever watched! The huge cast is full of wacky personalities that will either make you laugh silly or twitch in uneasiness, but a great job done by everyone nonetheless. Kubozuka Yosuke is the most outstanding actor here imho, perfect as the weirdly charismatic fun leader of the G-Boys. This drama is exceptionally funny and twisted and full of violence; defintiely not for the faint-hearted but highly recommended to everyone searching for a great hellride!
JIN [JIN-仁-]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
Very addictive show, but the ending was a letdown.
Karei naru Ichizoku [華麗なる一族]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
Kaze no Garden [風のガーデン]
Rating: 5/10 (Watched)
Kekkon Dekinai Otoko [結婚できない男]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
The story's nothing spectacular, but the cast did a great job forming a chemistry among each other. I simply love Abe's quirky movements and actions, the things he say and whatnot always crack a smile on me. An overall fun series.
Kimi wa Petto [きみはペット]
Rating: 5/10 (Watched)
I don't see what's so special about this series that makes it so popular. This is a simple "love" story despite the unusual plot device used. Koyuki's character gets on my nerves. I didn't think MatsuJun was cute either as a "pet". In short, this series was boring, unfunny and annoying to me. I had a hard time finishing this.
Kindaichi shonen no Jikenbo (2005) [金田一少年の事件簿]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
It's a mystery/detective story like Conan, which can be pretty cliche yet you don't mind watching anyway cause it's fun to piece the puzzles together in the end. Kamenashi is his usual genki self; love his acting.
Kisarazu Cat's Eye [木更津キャッツアイ]
Rating: 10/10 (Watched)
Another amazing series penned by Kankuro Kudo, this is a lighter, fun-filled adventure tale of a group of friends searching for excitement and close bonding. The usual wackiness ensues, with the kind of distorted, WTF scene-changing moments similar to Tiger & Dragon's style. If you like bizarre humour and seeing a bunch of crack dudes being dorky, get this!
Kurosagi [クロサギ]
Rating: 5/10 (Watched)
As a fan of Yamapi, I was thoroughly disappointed with his first lead drama. Kurosagi is slow-paced, boring and doesn't know what it wants exactly. The main plot doesn't end, meaning there's no real closure, and the added romance bonus is plain childish and ridiculous. The random swindling events aren't particualrly exciting either and most of them just fall out flat or feel too coincidental. Sad to say, Kurosagi fails in every aspect except for a pretty lead male and good acting from Horikita Maki.
Last Friends [ラスト・フレンズ]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
Ueno Juri was simply perfect!
Long Love Letter [ロング・ラブレター〜漂流教室]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
This show is pretty interesting as it uses the mystery effect to pull viewers in, and it gets really touching too at some parts. Kubozuka Yosuke gave a very good performance here; in fact I'm really moved by his acting at times as the good role model sensei but is really emotionally weak. If anything, this drama is worth watching only because Yosuke is in it. The ending is a bit confusing though.
Long vacation [ロングバケーション]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
Very sweet story, with amazing acting from the cast especially Yamaguchi Tomoko and the then-young Kimura Takuya.
Lunch no Joou [ランチの女王]
Rating: 10/10 (Watched)
This series has a very nice flow to it. It's easy and interesting to watch and it has such a likable cast! Takeuchi has a way of capturing people's hearts with her acting; I can't tear my eyes off her. Eguchi is just as awesome, and Yamapi is so cute here too. Story-wise, it's heartwarming, touching, exciting, funny and very yummy. It's really different from what little dramas I've seen, and I love every moment of it. Lunch no tame ni~!
Maido in Akihabara [めいど in あきはばら]
Rating: 1/10 (Watched)
Possibly the stupidest show I've ever seen. Mako is annoying as hell. Is that her real voice 'cause it's so darn irritating. And the way she acts all cutesy gets on my nerves. It's so degrading. This is really just a short idol series to show off Mako's supposed kawaiiness.
Majo no jouken [魔女の条件]
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
It's an interesting story with an uninteresting storyline. There are times when I feel for Michi and Hikaru, but mostly I am just bored out of the events played out. It's too artificial to my liking. Michi as a 26 year-old behaves like a teenager. Eventhough I like Nanako, I am irritated by her here. Good performance from Hideaki on the other hand. I wish the plot would have been more realistic.
Manhattan Love Story [マンハッタン ラブストーリー]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
Fans of Kankuro Kudo's wackiness will not be disappointed!
Maou [魔王]
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
Good acting, good plot but clearly not enough suspense.
Meitantei Conan: Sayonara Made no Prologue [名探偵コナン- 工藤新一への挑戦状]
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
Not much suspense in it.
Mirai Koshi Meguru [未来講師めぐる]
Rating: 5/10 (Watched)
Kyoko annoys me to hell.
MR. BRAIN
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
Interesting mix of mystery and comedy.
Mukodono! [ムコ殿/女婿大人]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
Yuko is awesome as usual.
Narita Rikon [成田離婚]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
It's funny.
Never Land
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
Mostly a show for younger teens. The storyline is dark and twisted, but it has been done to death by now. Perhaps it would have been a good show at its time, but the quality of the drama is questionable now. Acting for most part is okay, although Tsubasa and Ken looked edgy sometimes. Music is horrible. Still, due to Toma and Hina and Koki, what could have been a boring show turned out to be quite interesting after all.
News no onna [ニュースの女]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
When I first watched this, I have my eyes all on Takki. It's my first encounter with Takki back then and omg he looks so lovely! Storywise, I didn't find the drama too entertaining, but not boring either. I guess it's a pretty okay show.
Nobuta wo Produce [野ブタ。をプロデュース]
Rating: 10/10 (Watched)
Wacky, hilarious, thrilling and just so much FUN! Kame and Yamapi are great combination here, both excelling in their roles. Don't miss this great high-school drama! Definitely one-of-a-kind! It is the Best Drama for Autumn 2005 after all. :D
Nodame Cantabile [のだめ カンタビ−レ]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
Chiaki was freakin' hillarious with his expressions.
Ns' Aoi [Ns’ あおい ]
Rating: 4/10 (Watched)
Typical and cliche.
Orange Days [オレンジデイズ]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
Been there, done that, seen all. If you've seen one too many shows penned by Kitagawa, they all turned out similar in so many ways it'll crinch you bad. Nevertheless, the quality here got raised a notch (or few) thanks to beautiful music, good direction and most of all, brilliant acting by the cast. They really had a great chemistry going on between them. Tsumabuki and Shibasaki were indeed awesome, but Eita was the one who impressed me most. He really proved his acting versatility in this.
Over Time [オーバー・タイム]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
Overall an okay series, but it tends to be draggy and annoying at times. It's sweet but forgettable. Sorimachi is boring though Esumi is great. The ending is one that I was rooting for so that's a big plus for me.
Pride [プライド]
Rating: 10/10 (Watched)
I laughed, I cried, I smiled.. I am totally engrossed with this show. One of the best ever drama to light up my life. Awesome storyline and chemistry.. I am so touched with the show, I really am.
Princess Princess D [プリンセス・プリンセスD]
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
This is total crack. The absurdity of it all sent chills down my spine, yet its stupidity made me laugh like hell. Fun if you like seeing pretty guys doing dorky, incredibly lame stuff. Creepy if you can't stand boys love.
Proposal Daisakusen [プロポーズ大作戦]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
Bittersweet tale of a young man trying to redo his past to be with his true love. Great act from the cast, especially Yamapi who showed much effort and improvement this time.
ROOKIES [ルーキーズ]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
A more down-to-earth series of its genre, the idea of punks meeting baseball offers something new for a change, with a lot of hearty laughs and touching moments.
Ryusei no Kizuna [流星の絆]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
I like Kankuro Kudo, but his style just didn't work well in here. I rather have more a suspense feel to this kind of show.
Sapuri [サプリ]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
We've seen it all before. The same old themes, the same old twists. But, there were quite a lot of scenes that made me laugh so it wasn't all that boring for me. Kame/Itoh is a failed couple; they just don't have that kinda chemistry to keep it going. But I enjoyed the side characters though. The Enjoy guy was particularly very fun to watch. Also, it gave me an exciting glimpse to the advertising world so in the end, while it wasn't awesome, it still managed to entertain me.
Satomi Hakenden [里見八犬伝]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
A highly enjoyable show, despite its common storyline and theme. I thought with the special effects, the show would look stupid but it was very well-done. Great performance by the cast.
Seito Shokun! [生徒諸君!]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
Storyline is quite dark, which makes it more interesting than most series in the genre.
Sekai no chuushin de, ai wo sakebu [世界の中心で、愛をさけぶ]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
Well it's touching, but the pacing is way too slow for me. 1 Litre of tears is much sadder and made more impact.
sekushii boisu ando robo [セクシーボイスアンドロボ]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
Funny to see MatsuKen looking so dorky.
Sensei wa Erai! [先生はエライっ!]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
Yuto is such a funny boy.
Shinzanmono [新参者]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
Seen one too many mysteries written by the same man and you know what to expect. Abe was great as usual, not much suspense in this but entertaining enough.
Sora Kara Furu Ichioku no Hoshi [空から降る一億の星]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
Strong storyline. Great acting by lead actress. You can really feel the intensity, the dread, the overall depressing aura of the series. Despite that, I found the show a bit too draggy at times. There are lots of times I wish the people would just talk faster, or get straight to the point. Ending is sad and fitting, though I can't say I'm surprised since I saw that coming. Still, this is a good suspense series. Every episode ends at a cliffhanger making it hard to stop watching once started.
Sore wa, Totsuzen, Arashi no you ni... [それは、突然、嵐のように…]
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
Nothing bad, but nothing good either. Boring plot progression.
SP [エスピー]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
Stand UP!!
Rating: 9/10
Strawberry on the shortcake [ストロベリー・オンザ・ショートケーキ]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
Summer snow
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
Eventhough i could guess the ending, i can't believe i cried so much! This show is amazingly touching. So many beautiful life lessons here. The acting was great too! Awesome chemistry! :)
Taiyo no Kisetsu [太陽の季節]
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
For a supposedly political drama, I don't feel the intensity of it. The story moves at snail pace and the events, well, the fact that things wrap up so fast makes this feels incomplete and overly accidental.
Tantei Gakuen Q [探偵学園Q]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
Kyuu lights up the show.
Tantei Gakuen Q (Special) [探偵学園Q]
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
Tatta Hitotsu no Koi [たったひとつの恋]
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
The first few episodes were kinda fun to watch, eventhough it's such a cliche series. The music is simply beautiful. When things got more messy later, it became irritating as you realised just how many more cheesy plot devices they're going to throw at you. It's like watching a combination of every single love story you had ever seen in the past. As for the acting department, Kame was pretty okay though I think he's copying KimuTaku's style too much. He really needs to find his own special touch soon. Ayase was annoying. Koki was overreating. Toda Erika was just normal. Hiraoka Yuuta was the only one I really enjoyed watching here.
Tentai Kanzoku [天体観測]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
Touching story. Great acting.
Tiger & Dragon [タイガー&ドラゴン]
Rating: 10/10 (Watched)
This is possibly Kankuro's best work for me. It's a show that showcases Kankuro's bizarre imagination at its peak, filled with wacky characters, crazy situations, hillarious dialogues and great storylines. Complementing it is the awesome cast that has done their parts so well that almost every role here turns out to be my favourite portrayal from an actor. Highly amusing and funny, this fantasy-like drama is definitely one of the greatest series I've seen that truly defines the saying "imagination knows no boundaries".
Tokkyu Tanaka 3 Go [特急田中3号]
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
Tokyo Friends [東京フレンズ]
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
Tsuki no Koibito [月の恋人]
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
Can't stand Lin's attempt at speaking Japanese, her role really annoys me here. Forced ending, difficult to connect to any of the characters.
Umizaru [海猿]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
Saw this in the theatre. Not bad.
Umizaru [海猿]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
Gripping events.
Voice [ヴォイス]
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
Mediocre script, good actors.
Watashitachi no kyokasho [わたしたちの教科書]
Rating: 6/10
Starts off pretty dark and mysterious, but got more ridiculous and cheesy towards the end.
Water Boys [ウォーターボーイズ]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
Water Boys Season 2 [ウォーターボーイズ2]
Rating: 10/10 (Watched)
One of the best moodlifters ever. This show made me feel totally refreshed and uplifted and motivated - it's a great show to watch when you're feeling down or lost in life. The movie was fun, the first series wasn't that good though, but this second season was just awesome. Ichihara Hayato and Ishihara Satomi were really impressive in it. The synchro moves were more intense and beautiful than ever. This drama is an excellent tale of growing up, working hard and building understanding among family and peers alike. It will defintiely move the hearts of all who cherish such values.
Yamada Taro Monogatari [山田太郎ものがたり]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
Sho didn't get to act much but Nino is perfect as usual. Entertaining, light and easy.
Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge [ヤマトナデシコ七変化]
Rating: 3/10 (Watched)
Cliched and cheesy, it takes real effort to complete this.
Yasashii Jikan [優しい時間]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
This is from the same writer as Haikei, Chichiue-sama, again with the potentially amazing Nino in it. I loved Haikei, and Yasashii Jikan did not disappoint. It's amazingly humane and warm, with a very touching portrayal of a strained relationship between father and son. I haven't seen Nino cried so much in a show. This is a slow piece by general standards, but I found it gripping enough to finish it in two days. A serious, down-to-earth human drama can be entertaining too.
Yasha [夜叉]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
This drama is pretty addicting despite the weak handling of the plot. Perhaps Ito Hideaki was just so good here. The sci-fi element is probably just an excuse to move the relationship between the twins. I guess this is more a character-driven show if anything. But I seriously couldn't stop watching, as the series kept me wanting to know what would happen between the two. Yasha is deeply entertaining and the concept is interesting. I only wish there were more action scenes around.
Yuukan kurabu [有閑倶楽部]
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
The flow of the show is pretty senseless, as a lot of convenient plot devices were used. Naive series with a lot of annoying exaggerated acting, however Taguchi was flawless as the narcissist.
Yuuki [ユウキ]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
