This is my favorite drama. Watching it I cried about how similar my life is to Sumire-chan's. Particularly the scene where she is wearing the bear outfit in an amuzement park with her eyes pointing in different directions being so overqualified and so misunderstood. Sumire! Sumire!! The show seemed like a collection of mystery novels mixed together in a hat and blown into the wind without any artistic inspiration. The acting was strange and reminded me of mimes. Also, Kimura, although looking great, seemed lost in his acting. One could just feel how uncomfortable he was with the role. So, my overall impression is that there was a lot of effort put into this drama with will please a good proportion of the audience, the base of the story is fascinating, especially the hypnosis/memory subplot, but the talent and the majic touch to the drama's story, acting, and directing was missing. | Nobuta wo Produce [野ブタ。をプロデュース]

This drama portrays a very powerful lesson on karma and how we repay our mistakes. Interweaved through this message, a story of a number of very dark characters is told. An obviously dark character Ryo, who is delightfully portrayed by Kimura. Surprisingly, he turns out to be not as dark as the rest of the characters who are seemingly sweet. The pathetic sweetheart who expects that Ryo will save her - Miwa, another incredibly dark character Yuko who is portrayed as an adopted sister of the main character, and of coarse the main character who is detective Kenzo with a debt to pay from one of his careless actions. I am so impressed with this drama, I would love to apprentice with the production team for this show. It has everything - magic, beauty, mystery, and tremendous talent. |
