I don't know where they came up with the Meteor Garden as the English translation for the title. I guess it's the Taiwanese that did it.
However, JDorama translated it as Boys Over Flowers which made sense in a way but the title was from the popular Japanases proverb which literally meant "dumplings over flowers." It has a deeper meaning to it but Makino and Hanazawa Rui talked about it briefly during their trip in a car towards the end of the series. | Hanayome to Papa [花嫁とパパ]
