1 Pound no Fukuin [1ポンドの福音]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
Kame was excellent in this drama. a perfect combination of comedy and sweetness.
Abarenbo Mama [暴れん坊ママ]
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
i only made it as far as the fansubbers got, so i don't know how this series ended. it was really cute for what it was though. hopefully i'll be able to finish it someday.
Ace wo Nerae! [エースをねらえ!]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
more dramatic than i expected, especially the ending and SP. but the SP gave some closure to the loss and i appreciated that.
Anna-san no Omame [アンナさんのおまめ]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
OMG... mitai na?!?!?! i DON'T know how i got through this series... but i did. Becky was HELLA annoying, but i kept watching her! and that stupid best friend, hello! it's okay to let your friend have your man, WTF... yeah, i honestly don't know how i got through this one. lol.
Attention Please [アテンションン プリース]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
i wish flight attendents on the airlines i flew were as meticulous, attentive, and polite as JAL. Aya hits another home run with this one.
Bambino! [バンビーノ!]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
MatsuJun is not in enough dramas. but this was an interesting role for him. and i loved seeing Sato Ryuta in such a role that i haven't really seen him in before.
Bara no nai Hanaya [薔薇のない花屋]
Rating: 10/10 (Watched)
one of the most touching storylines i've seen. i couldn't stop crying throughout the entire series. definitely one of my top favorites. love it!
Binbou Danshi (Bonbi Man) [貧乏男子 (ボンビーメン)]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
one of the many favorite sides of Oguri Shun that i adore.
Brother Beat [ブラザー☆ビート]
Rating: 10/10 (Watched)
yay more Mokomichi! i loved this family and how they got through life together.
Dragon Zakura [ドラゴン桜]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
i thought that this was just another story about a great teacher helping students... but the more i watched, the more i enjoyed. it made me believe that you can do anything if you try. yeah, i know. but it did.
Erai Tokoro ni Totsuide Shimatta! [エラいところに嫁いでしまった!]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
after watching the first episode, i was like, "divorce!" because no way could i stand the troubles that Kimiko's husband put her through with his family. i mean really, i was pretty damned annoyed and i didn't see how i could even finish watching a drama like this. and i felt the same after episode 2 and episode 3... but next thing you know, just as Kimiko had discovered, you start to really get into this quirky family and just accepting them for who they are. next thing i knew, i ended up enjoying the series and actually liking characters. Iso: yes, still willy nilly and no backbone, but loving and has the best intentions. Oka-sama: she misunderstands a lot, but she has got to be the nicest lady around! Oto-sama: loved him. "hmmph!" even that mean ass sister and annoying cousin grew on me. it was the first "bride & mother-in-law" drama i've seen, so i don't have nothing to compare it to. but as a drama itself, i found it enjoyable, funny, and endearing as it ended.
First Kiss [ファースト・キス]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
another side of Inoue Mao i have yet to see... but a sweet story nontheless. loved the relationship between Mio & her brother.
Gokusen [ごくせん]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
I say... feel your breeze, anytime anywhere in my heart... love this series. the original 3D was the best.
Gokusen 2 [ごくせん2]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
Yay, more Yankumi & Sawatori Kyoto! and Kuma, plus the introduction of Baba-sensei, who is hillarious... plus another all star 3D main cast... i loved it.
Gokusen 3 [ごくせん 3]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
the highlights of season 3: Yankumi & Sawatari Kyoto - together again! Baba-Sensei returns! Kuma is all grown up!!! oh, and Muira Haruma was the extra cherry on top of the sundae. ^^
GTO [麻辣教師]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
Sorimachi Takashi is kickass. another great teacher to add to the lot.
Hachimitsu to Kuroba [ハチミツとクローバー]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
not having read the manga, it was surprising to find the series a tad on the boring side after hearing so much excitement in anticipation of it's premiere. but it did pick up in the later episodes and i enjoyed it's end.
Hana Yori Dango [花より男子]
Rating: 10/10 (Watched)
one of the main reasons why i loved HYD so much is for it's excellent live portrayal of the characters. the transition from manga to anime to live action was so flawless, you didn't really miss a thing. casting was spot-on excellent, from F4 and Makino to Kaeda to Tsubaki & Shizuka; with the one exception of Makino's mom, but i preferred her personality in the drama over the anime. with such great portrayals, it wasn't hard to make the stories come alive and feel real. excellent drama.
Hana Yori Dango Season 2 [花より男子]
Rating: 10/10 (Watched)
seeing as how the first season ended, i'm glad there was a continuation. not only do we get to peek into the lives of these wonderful characters yet again, but there is so much more stories to tell and so much more to learn. HYD2 Returns was beyond excellent; with all it's frustrations and tear-jerking moments, the payoff in the end made it all worth-while!
Hanaikusa [花いくさ]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
the japanese version of Memoirs of a Geisha, no? regardless, it was great seeing Inoue Mao take on such a role and i enjoyed the SP.
Hanazakari no Kimitachi e [花ざかりの君たちへ]
Rating: 10/10 (Watched)
hilarious!!! i loved so much about this drama! realistically i don't see how the boys couldn't figure that Ashiya was a girl for the longest time, but whatever. i still enjoyed the series and anticipate the SP.
Hataraki Man [働きマン]
(Watched)
currently watching.
Jodan Janai! [冗談じゃない!]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
this was ridiculous. i watched this purely for Oda Yuji (Ueno Juri actually annoyed me in this series). somehow, i ended up watching the whole thing. really, jodan janai!!!
Jotei [女帝]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
i love a tale of rightful revenge.
Kiken na Aneki [危険なアネキ]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
i thought watching another drama w/Itoh Misaki as the lead would be good... but this was annoying. i did grow to like it in the end, but i was 'eh' about it throughout more than half the series. there were some redeeming comedic moments though.
Kimi wa Petto [きみはペット]
Rating: 10/10 (Watched)
a sweet, unexpected romance.
Kisarazu Cat's Eye [木更津キャッツアイ]
Rating: 10/10 (Watched)
kiiiiiiiisaaaaaaaaarazu! nya nya nya nya nya nya nya!!!
Kurosagi [クロサギ]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
one of my favorite Yamapi dramas. like, Alias, but w/eye-candy. also, a touching storyline that i hope is resolved in the movie.
Last Christmas [ラストクリスマス]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
i really enjoyed this drama; very sweet.
Last Friends [ラスト・フレンズ]
Rating: 3/10 (Watched)
i only got as far as the second episode, not because i found the story dull, but because watching the storyline left a bad taste in my mouth. it left me with an uncomfortable feeling, and i was so annoyed at how the main character couldn't stand up against the abuse. i've heard it's a really good drama, so hopefully one day i can sit down and stomach it all. i want to give it another shot, especially since it has such an all star young cast.
Lunch no Joou [ランチの女王]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
very cute series. and omg Takeuchi Yuko's smile is addicting!
Medaka [めだか]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
i LOVED this drama. when graduation time came around, it was bittersweet.
Meitantei Conan: Kudo Shinichi he no Chosenjo [名探偵コナン- 工藤新一への挑戦状]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
yay, Oguri Shun in the lead. that's reason enough for me.
Mukodono! [ムコ殿/女婿大人]
Rating: 10/10 (Watched)
what i love most about Nagase's acting abilities are put onscreen in this drama. the fact that he can be so silly & cute as Yu-chan then so calm, collected, & cool as Yuichiro amazes me. it's 2 polar opposite personalities that Nagase portrays wonderfully.
My Boss, My Hero [マイボスマイヒロ]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
OMG i LOVE Nagase Tomoya! he is pure comedy! this series had me cracking up so much... i could watch him over and over again.
Nobuta wo Produce [野ブタ。をプロデュース]
Rating: 10/10 (Watched)
my other favorite Yamapi drama! and i loved his character in this series. alongside Kame, i found this to be a wonderful story of friendship. love love love it.
Nodame Cantabile [のだめ カンタビ−レ]
Rating: 10/10 (Watched)
this drama left me speechless! it was so sweet and full of great passion for music, all the while being absolutely hillarious at the same time. Chiaki & Nodame are so adorable together. chuuu~! and! this is probably the first drama that i actually liked Eita in. that monkey boy did good this time.
Nodame Cantabile Shinshun Special in Europe [のだめカンタービレ 新春スペシャル IN ヨーロッパ]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
yay! my favorite characters return! it was nice to see some final resolution on the romance of Chiaki & Nodame. i do wish to see more of the RS Oke... would of loved a final performance together.
Proposal Daisakusen [プロポーズ大作戦]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
it took me a long time to finish this drama because it was so formulaic. and to predict (and rightfully so) that the whole series would take place at the wedding got tiresome. but as i got into the later episodes it seemed to get better. and then came the anti-climatic and unsatisfactory ending... geez... what a disappointment. if there was a SP to give some definite closure, rather than just Pi smiling, i think it would make it better for me. EDIT: added 1+ point since the release of the SP. got my closure, now i'm happy.
raiaa geemu [ライアーゲーム]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
a very suspenseful drama. loved seeing Matsuda Shota in a lead role and i liked trying to figure all the puzzles out. Toda Erika bugged. the. hell. outta. me. get some sense, girl!
Regatta [レガッタ]
(Watched)
currently watching.
ROOKIES [ルーキーズ]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
Ichihara Hayato is my new crush! *doki doki!*
Sapuri [サプリ]
Rating: 10/10 (Watched)
such a sweet story. i love it when Kame is sweet. another job well done. and my first time seeing Itoh Misaki in a lead role... she was excellent.
Shika Otoko Awoniyoshi [鹿男あをによし]
(Watched)
currently watching.
Sore wa, Totsuzen, Arashi no you ni... [それは、突然、嵐のように…]
Rating: 5/10 (Watched)
not my favorite. slow... and unsatisfying. i just didn't get it.
Stand UP!!
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
omg i want a Stand UP!! reunion. seriously. loved this drama; great insight to a teenage male's perspective.
Tatta Hitotsu no Koi [たったひとつの恋]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
the first drama that i liked Ayase Haruka in (she was such a bitch in Sore wa...); and a different role for Kame that i'm not sure i like, but i don't dislike as well. filled with a great cast, the story grew on me and i thought it was a touching series overall.
Ushi ni Negai wo: Love & Farm [牛に願いを - Love & Farm]
(Watched)
Utahime [歌姫]
(Watched)
currently watching.
Water Boys [ウォーターボーイズ]
Rating: 10/10 (Watched)
i never thought i would love this drama as much as i actually do. the best for me was Ishigaki Yuma... hilliarious! what a wonderful cast!
Yamada Taro Monogatari [山田太郎ものがたり]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
yay Nino! a sweet family drama.
Yuukan kurabu [有閑倶楽部]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
lovely to see the return of Akanishi, and overall it wasn't too bad... but it just didn't grab me.
Yuuki [ユウキ]
Rating: 10/10 (Watched)
it was this role that cemented my attraction for Kame's acting skills. the range of emotions he played, from cheerful & happy to depressed & sorry, came through the screen and felt very real. he portrayed the character with great justice. i couldn't stop crying.
Zettai Kareshi [絶対彼氏]
Rating: 10/10 (Watched)
i *heart* nighto!
