moonchyld's drama votes (7)
Beach boys [ビーチボーイズ]
it's just something you can't miss. the epitome of japanese drama.
Beautiful life [ビューティフルライフ]
because you'll like it no matter what~ it's timeless and it just leaves an impression.
Hoshi no kinka 1 [星の金貨]
It's drama at its best. I cried my heart out watching this, attesting to how poignant and effective the casts were in delivering their roles. If you even slightly like Noriko, you should check this out, and I'm sure you'll fall in love with her afterwards. ^_^
Ichi Ritoru no Namida [1リットルの涙]
because it is one of the most poignant jdramas of all time. and because it has magnificent lead actors (erika & ryo), who despite their youth were able to deliver powerful performances. wasurerarenain desu.
Nodame Cantabile [のだめ カンタビ−レ]
voting because i thoroughly enjoyed it! loved each and every character, i thought the cast was superb!!! gyabooooo~~~~
Over Time [オーバー・タイム]
because it's good. excellent in fact. =]
Shiroi Kyoto [白い巨塔]
one of the best non-love story dramas i've ever watched.. it's very different, and it makes you become aware of the principles and complexities underlying the medical world... what should being a doctor really mean, what patients that go against their doctors really feel and have to go through, and ultimately, what life is all about. add that to a superb cast = AMAZING!

moonchyld's artiste votes (5)
Karasawa Toshiaki [唐沢寿明]
because he's unforgettable in any of the roles he handles.
Kimura Takuya [木村拓哉]
because he's one of the most flexible and best actors in the WORLD. he just simply has a knack of carrying any role he handles. notwithstanding the fact that he's gorgeous, the way he acts is just breath-taking, and he truly gives life to his characters. i wasn't a fan at first, but gradually i realized that (almost) every drama of his, i liked and enjoyed watching. in short, he's just a great actor with amazing abilities and jaw-dropping looks. :)
Sakai Noriko [酒井法子]
i literally fell in love with her after being awe-struck by her magnificent performance in hoshi no kinka. and I've been her fan eversince. she's got amazing abilities that perfectly complement her serene beauty. she's got incredibly deep and expressive eyes.. for me, she's the most beautiful woman in the world!!!! ichiban utsukushii onna da yo! ^O^
Tsumabuki Satoshi [妻夫木聡]
there's just something so charming about tsumabuki satoshi.. that and his acting always feels sincere so you just can't help but love watching him.
Ueno Juri [上野樹里]
no one could've been more naturally ADORABLE as juri-san in Nodame. or quirky in Swing Girls and Turtles Can Swim Fast Too. or cool and deep at the same time in Last Friends. Juri-san is all about personality, charm and of course, TALENT.

moonchyld's dramas (157)
Ai to iu nano moto ni [愛という名のもとに]
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
bit boring~ watched it onli for the cast...
Akihabara@DEEP [アキハバラ@DEEP]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
unexpectedly very entertaining!!! i love how weird and quirky everything was~ FAR FAR better than the movie version! the cast was superb, they were really convincing as akihabara otakus unlike the movie's cast. special mention to kitamura for his awesome performance as nakagomi takeshi!
Anego [アネゴ]
Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched)
quite entertaining! esp the scenes of ryoko & akanishi jin~ i love their chemistry.. it's just so fun to watch bickering lovers (reminiscent of kimutaku's pairings :P)!
Antique [アンティーク〜西洋骨董洋菓子店]
Rating: 7/10 (Bought & Watched)
it started really slow... however, it was able to create interest and mystery with the "this is a story about 3 men and a cake shop" thing, but i guess a light-hearted show + mystery doesn't really do it for me. i loved the chemistry between the 4 men though, esp when the music would suddenly stop whenever fujiki was having his "stares." XD
Asunaro hakusho [あすなろ白書]

watching~
Bambino! [バンビーノ!]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
I really enjoyed watching this drama. The pace, story and character development were superb. It was really entertaining and interesting! The cast was fantastic, overall it was a really well made drama!
Bara no nai Hanaya [薔薇のない花屋]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
this drama was awesome at building mystery and delivering poignant scenes... but the story kinda slid down in the last few episodes; didn't quite live up to all the hype and intensity of the first few, and some points were never properly addressed (eg shingo was so scared of his violent side coming out in one of the first few eps when he saved yuko..) nevertheless, strong acting performances from the leads (esp the kid hehe) make this the best drama of the season.
Beach boys [ビーチボーイズ]
Rating: 10/10 (Bought & Watched)
only one word could describe how i feel for this drama --- LOVE!!! *O*
Beautiful life [ビューティフルライフ]
Rating: 10/10 (Bought & Watched)
so touching and poignant... loved takuya here!
Big Money! [ビッグマネー!〜浮世の沙汰は株しだい〜]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
omoshiroi~
Big wing [ビッグウイング]
(Bought)
it has takashi kashiwabara!!! 'nuff said.
Bijo ka Yajuu [美女か野獣]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
nanako's really a great actress.. flexible and stunning in every sense of the word! :D
Boku dake no Madonna [僕だけのマドンナ]
Rating: 5/10 (Bought)
uhh.. quite boring and senselss for my taste.. haven't finished watching it thou.. couldn't make me continue.. :(
Boku no Aruku Michi [僕の歩く道]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
not bad.. kusanagi is an amazing actor~ he plays the eccentric very very well!
Brother Beat [ブラザー☆ビート]
Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched)
a surprisingly enjoyable watch! i think it was too bad that it was on the same season as 1LofTears & NwP; hence it was overlooked. although it touches on some cliches, it's the kind of light-hearted and amusing family drama that i don't think people will ever get sick of watching.
CHANGE
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
takuya was great as usual. i felt that i was expecting more story/ies - something like Hero..but perhaps it was hard to get everything to fit in in a few eps (from being a teacher to a politician to PM) in 9 eps. i was disappointed at how lackluster the character of abe hiroshi was tho, i mean we all know abe has so much more personality and talent than that.
Cheap Love [チープラブ]
(Bought)
^^
Dekichatta Kekkon [できちゃった結婚]
Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched)
funny~ i liked takenouchi here a lot! his facial expressions were so cute... ^^
Densha Otoko [電車男]
Rating: 7/10 (Bought & Watched)
It was funny.. basically just a comedy. I felt the movie version was better because it had more depth.. Itoh Misaki is too stiff to be an actress; she's really just model material, which kinda suits the role she has in this drama - a beautiful flower vase.
Dragon Zakura [ドラゴン桜]
(Bought)
^^
Engine [エンジン]
Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched)
all i can say is... dramas that are focused mainly upon KimTaku alone are the ones that excel the most. too much side stories takes the limelight away..and KimTaku is just made for being the MAIN actor and nothing else. XP
Eve ~santa claus dreaming~ [イヴ]
Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched)
watched this ages ago... i remember liking this a lot thou~ at that time, it was one of the best dramas i had ever seen and it had left a deep impression on me eversince. i started to like karasawa here, but wasn't able to watch any of his dramas until his latest, shiroi kyoto. it's funny thou cuz i really don't remember kashiwabara and sorimachi to be a part of it! O_O!
First Kiss [ファースト・キス]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
stellar performance from inoue mao... but overall the drama was a bit dull and predictable, the sister-brother thing was also a bit too overdramatic~
Friends [フレンズ]
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
well, honestly speaking fukuda made me actually like her here... the problem was the directing and also i guess the acting wasn't as breath-taking as other jdramas. a lot of time was spent mindlessly and uselessly, which made it boring... the story was also a bit too simple.
Galileo [ガリレオ]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
awesome drama... great chemistry bet. fukuyama & shibasaki, intriguing & clever plots every week, plus top-notch guest stars! best drama this season!
Ganjisu gawa de batafurai [ガンジス河でバタフライ]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
at first i was just gonna give it a 7, but +1 for masami's efforts in adapting to such a diff culture. masami was a bit over-hyper here and she made it seem like light drama, but actually the story has a lot of insights, esp about what you can learn from other cultures if only you accept it with an open heart.
Garasu no kamen 1 [ガラスの仮面]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
I wasn't able to watch all of its episodes, but I think it's a very deep and different kind o' drama... I heard it was based on a manga, but the author wasn't able to finish it b/c he died...
Gift [ギフト]
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
it's ok... not one of takuya's best thou. his performance might have been great, but the story was quite confusing, and the ending wasn't that satisfactory. didn't like his supporting actors/resses as well...
Gokusen [ごくせん]
Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched)
Didn't like it at first, but the drama grows on you.. Yankumi grows on you, with all her stiffness and stuff. hehe. I just wish they had more realistic fighting scenes. lol.
Gokusen 2 [ごくせん2]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
Just watched a few eps here in there... very much like the first Gokusen.
Golden Bowl [ゴールデンボウル]
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
not that interesting... the story was a bit mindless
Good Luck !! [グッドラック!!]
Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched)
I guess it only got an 8 because it seemed more of Capt. Kouda's drama than KimuTaku's... Otherwise, it's still an interesting watch as every one of KimuTaku's dramas. XD
GTO [麻辣教師]
Rating: 10/10
kakkoi~~!!! sorimachi was soooo kewl here...!!! the stories were touching and sorimachi's teachings/words of advice were really nice and mind opening. ^*^
H2~Kimi to itahibi [2〜君といた日々]
(Bought)
^^
Hachimitsu to Kuroba [ハチミツとクローバー]
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
started watching for Toma.. and the rest of the cast is pretty famous - its even got Kassy in it! the story is too dragging though, and it was almost painful to finish it.. could've done better if more elements were added to the story.
Haken no Hinkaku [ハケンの品格]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
awesome!!! i liked this series very much! funny, witty, very kekkon dekinai otoko-ish comedy yet has deep ideas instilled in it~ it gave me a newfound appreciation for hakens, though i've never known of their existence before.. shinohara ryoko rocks! the love story between kurukuru paamu & tokkuri was also a fun watch! =D
Hana Yori Dango [花より男子]
Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched)
i think the taiwanese version is better..maybe because it was longer & thus was able to convey the development of domyouji and makino's relationship in a deeper way.. but the japanese version was very loyal to the manga. :P
Hana Yori Dango 2 [花より男子]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
episode one was kinda jumpy.. too many scenes forcefully made to fit in one. BUT! i love how this version is so true to the manga and included all the best parts of the manga~ the ending scene was kinda corny, but the important thing is that it showed us how strong Tsukasa & Tsukushi's love is (as opposed to Meteor Garden II where Tsukasa actually fell in love with another woman.. >:( )
Hanazakari no Kimitachi e [花ざかりの君たちへ]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
love it! always fun and always full of ikemen! ikuta toma at his best~! (ps. it was obvious shun was more in love w/ toma than maki XP)
Hero
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
quite entertaining
Hitotsu yane no shita 1 [ひとつ屋根の下 1]
Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched)
touching... very very poignant. i liked it. :)
Hitotsu yane no shita 2 [ひとつ屋根の下 2]
Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched)
same as the first... moving and just plain nice :)
Honke no Yome [本家のヨメ]
Rating: 5/10 (Watched)
suki ja nai... demo noriko sakai ga ita yo..
Hoshi no kinka 1 [星の金貨]
Rating: 10/10 (Bought & Watched)
*drool* this has got to be THE best drama!!! (well at least for me it is V^^V).. it actually made me wanna learn sign lang. hehehe... i really fell in love with noriko here, and she's been my fave Japanese actress since. now THAT'S what i call great acting! ^-^
Hoshi no kinka 2 / Zoku hoshi no kinka [續。星の金貨]
Rating: 10/10 (Watched)
fantastic...! as breath-taking as the first~! BUY AND WATCH BOTH SERIES NOW! \(^O^)/
Hotaru no haka [蛍の墓]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
it was an amazing adoptation, i liked the way the drama spent more time on the aunt and why she became who she was.. but i guess nothing could compare to the emotional impact of the anime version. the child actress who portrayed the little sister was cute, but she was unable to deliver the drama part of her role. i loved the brother though. :)
Hotaru no Hikari [ホタルノヒカリ]
Rating: 5/10
watched 1st ep.. got bored~ ended not giving 2nd ep a chance. XD
hoteriaa [ホテリアー]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
watched a few eps here and there.. wasn't too bad, but ueto aya really fails to engage me. the other actors are also just blah, not interesting enough.
Hotman [ホットマン]
Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched)
at first i was skeptical to watch this, 'cause i saw quite a few not so good comments abt the show. demo yappari ii dorama da. a lot like hitotsu yane no shita, but the story revolves more around the father-daughter tandem of enzo & nanami. heartwarming & fun to watch, it's the kind of dramas from which you learn a lot abt life.
Hotman 2 [ホットマン2]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
ito misaki is soooo bad in this drama it hurts. she totally destroyed the love and togetherness the previous drama tried to build up. she felt like she wasn't exactly a part of the family, a selfish outsider who made blunder after blunder. thankfully nanami's still cute and saves this drama from becoming horrible. the story focused more on her than on the other family members nor enzo, which wasn't that bad, but fairs lower than the first hotman.
Ichi Ritoru no Namida [1リットルの涙]
Rating: 9/10 (Bought & Watched)
this drama is just plain & simple "wow." i really loved aya & asou, their acting was really impressive. i also love the story, i cried in every episode (ahh my eyes @_@). but i guess it fell short of a 10 because of the supporting cast, they weren't as moving as nishikido (man, he could cry! i love his crying scene in ep 10! <3) & sawajiri (beautiful & talented!). a must watch!!! :D
Ikebukuro West Gate Park [池袋ウエストゲートパーク]
Rating: 7/10 (Bought & Watched)
the best thing abt this drama is its cast. eventually most of the stars in this drama will become the biggest names (watanabe, yamapi, koyuki, kubozuka, sakaguchi, tsumabuki etc..), and it was interesting to see them when they were still doing supporting roles. unfortunately, their acting here simply sucked. lol. tears were unquestionably eyedrops & the main actress was simply ineffective. i liked the directing though, and the story's quite different from other jdorama.
Imouto yo [妹よ]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
it was the first show in which i saw toshiaki.. :) i liked the love story bet. him and his leading lady... timeless. the brother was also a touching figure who made the drama even more moving.
Iryu [医龍 Team Medical Dragon]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
i loved this drama...very intense and well-done! i admit that it has some elements that resemble shiroi kyoto, but it actually has a different story altogether. I think the first episode will really make others think twice about continuing with the drama, but please don't let it stop you! it only gets better and more intense with every ep. i think the shine of this drama are koike teppei and inamori izumi; they've given powerful performances and definitely worth the watch!
Iryu 2 [医龍 2]

iryu 1 was too good... looking forward to stellar performances from the cast again. a bit sad inamori izumi's not back, she was one of the best in season 1.. :(
Itazura na Kiss [イタズラなKiss]
Rating: 10/10 (Bought & Watched)
you just can't help but fall in love with this drama... totemo kawaii!!! and takashi kashiwabara was so cool and handsome!!! *O*
Itoshi Kimie [愛し君へ]
Rating: 9/10 (Bought & Watched)
my eyes @_@
Itsuka mata aeru [いつかまた逢える]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
i can't remember the story.. but i remember sakurai's bright and beautiful smile. it's the kind of smile that after seeing it, you know it'll really bright up your day. :)
Itsumo futari de [いつもふたりで]
(Bought)
^^
Jodan Janai! [冗談じゃない!]
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
was really excited to watch this since it seemed to have a stunning cast with a very promising story line. and ueno juri and oda yuji did have good chemistry. BUT, alas the downfall came with the actress they chose to play the mother of juri and former lover of oda yuji. she was a very very annoying character to watch and she felt too old for oda! after watching about 5-6 eps, i had lost all interest to continue finishing it. sad...
Kamisama mou sukoshi dake [神様、もう少しだけ]
Rating: 9/10 (Bought & Watched)
it was breath-taking that's for sure. i couldn't give it a 10 because i didn't like fukada that much, and also the ending... it wasn't that believable. plus, i couldn't understand why kaneshiro never got infected. hehe. just some ramblings.. but all in all it was an amazing drama. heck, i watched it STRAIGHT from night to the next morning! i also couldn't forget kaneshiro after this.. i mean he is the first man i've ever seen to look EXACTLY like a bishounen that walked out of a shoujo manga!!! O_O!!!
Karei naru Ichizoku [華麗なる一族]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
powerful performance from takuya!! cried really bad the last episode.. the plot was very good.. the only problem is i feel the drama was focused too much on being an adaptation of a novel, in a way that it always reminded you that it was based on a novel (ie the narrator would describe how the actors felt as if you were reading the book, etc).. i also felt they were overly emphasizing aesthetics, which i felt made them forget about just how powerful the storyline and characters are and how that would've been enough to deliver a magnificent drama.
Kekkan Kazoku
Rating: 5/10 (Watched)
nanka.. it tried to enter the heartwarming, family jdorama genre, but failed. probably it's due to the cast, but the story is weak as well. really didn't like harada yoshio here.. =S
Kekkon Dekinai Otoko [結婚できない男]
Rating: 10/10 (Watched)
i just love how smart and quirky this drama is! lol. having followed jdoramas for the last 8-9years, this is the first time i've come across such a witty comedy from japan. abe hiroshi was amazing!!! watching his antics and the priceless facial reactions of natsukawa yui and the others were just a blast! really kept me hanging every week. nice job! hope this starts a new trend in jdrama comedies!
Kimi no Te ga Sasayaite Iru [君の手がささやいている]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
short drama - only 6 episodes i believe - but SUPERB performances from its stars and POIGNANT story...
Kimi to ita mirai no tame ni ~ airu bi bakku [君といた未来のために I'll be back]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
different... in a more than good way. thought-provoking.
Kimi wa Petto [きみはペット]
Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched)
pretty entertaining... matsujun is really hyper! and koyuki is fantastic as the socially awkward career woman. very interesting concept hehehe~
Kindaichi shonen no Jikenbo (2005) [金田一少年の事件簿]
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
kame didn't feel and look the part.. i hope he changes his style once in a while, esp since he's doing different (or maybe not) characters in different dramas. watching this, i miss tsuyopon's kindaichi - suspenseful, intriguing, intelligent, and you really feel like he has this mysteriously wise mind & soul behind his foolish demeanor.
Kisarazu Cat's Eye [木更津キャッツアイ]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
quite a fun bunch to watch! i love how japanese boys are sooo noisy and crazy and just plain entertaining when put into groups~! i also came to understand why they chose okada junichi to lead Tokyo Tower the movie, as he really feels like the kind of guy that has a "barrier-free" heart (as popularized by Beautiful Life) in that he doesn't care about age differences and stuff. and the dear tsukamoto takashi & narimiya hiroki are here -- as brothers!!! gotta love that~ sassuga the director of IWGP to come out with an another unconventional jdrama!
Koi no kiseki
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
I liked Kanno Miho's acting here, despite being the antagonist... actually for me, it seemed more of being her drama than Hazuki Riona's..
Koishite Shinitai [恋して死にたい]
Rating: 7/10 (Bought & Watched)
i like dohmoto, but fukada really bugs me. the love story's a bit typical, too.
Konna koi no hanashi [こんな恋のはなし]
Rating: 6/10 (Bought & Watched)
i expected more because nanako was in this... i guess it could've been better if only her partner wasn't/didn't look that old.. hehe... a bit cliche thou. but i guess it doesn't suck. V^^V
Konna watashi ni dare ga shita [こんな私に誰がした]
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
:(
Koori no sekai [冰の世界]
Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched)
intriguing. nanako's performance as a cold beauty was very effective.. i don't think anyone could've done it as well as she did. i didn't like the ending thou... it wasn't satisfying enough after all the hype the past episodes created..
Koshonin [交渉人]
Rating: 5/10
i actually gave this a try eventho i don't fancy yonekura ryoko.. DROPPED after 1st ep.
Kou Kou Kyoushi 2003 [高校教師 2003]
(Bought)
^^
Kurosagi [クロサギ]
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
watched a few eps here and there, but the drama just kept repeating itself. most importantly, the way kurosagi swindled wasn't smart/slick enough.. it seemed too amateur. it's like the drama focused more on the leads being idols (though i like yamapi) than the story. anyway read mmyy's comment as it thoroughly conveys how i feel about the drama.
Kyou no Dekigoto [きょうのできごと]
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
definitely an art film.. was a bit too random for me, i couldn't quite get what they were trying to achieve at all..
Kyousoukyoku [協奏曲]
Rating: 5/10 (Bought & Watched)
ugh.. couldn't keep on watching it.. skipped a lot of its episodes. i just didn't like it.
Last Christmas [ラストクリスマス]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
I would say it was overall entertaining, but I guess I didn't love the chemistry too much. I think Yada Akiko was unable to give an up to par performance or presence as Oda Yuji had in the drama. Oda, though not entirely cute and lovable, just has a kind of warmth and humility around him that just shines through. The story was kind of weak as well, but I guess Yada Akiko's performance had a lot to do with how luckluster it felt since the main climax revolved around her character. It's definitely watchable, and if I were able to, I'd give it a 7.5~
Last Friends [ラスト・フレンズ]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
overall a great drama - had suspense and well, lots of drama. hehe. SUPERB acting from ueno juri, eita and nishikido ryo made this one the best of its season.
Laundry
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
kosuke is an amazing actor.. and koyuki plays her character really well here. it's when an actor embodies their roles, and we don't even notice that they're just acting, that make films/dramas shine the most. and this is one of those charming little films.
Liar Game [ライアーゲーム]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
was kinda corny in terms of acting sometimes, but overall it was surprisingly a good watch.
LIFE [ライフ]
Rating: 9/10
great acting by the cast~ it didn't go overboard about the lessons it wanted to deliver.. loved how it was crazy and warped and innocent all at the same time!
Long Love Letter [ロング・ラブレター〜漂流教室]
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
chotto dake mitetanoni, hen na dorama dato omou.
Long vacation [ロングバケーション]
Rating: 9/10 (Bought & Watched)
nice and heartwarming... :) i like the setting very much... the love story's wonderful and the cast is more than superb!!!
Love generation [ラブジェネレーション]
Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched)
not bad. it's fun to see them bicker at each other! kimutaku ni ichiban niai no onna ha yappa gocha gocha itteru onna da yo na~
Lunch no Joou [ランチの女王]
Rating: 7/10 (Bought & Watched)
i guess it's ok~ these kinds of dramas are so much more fun if there was a lot of bickering going on.. hehe. i guess you can say the cast had chemistry, but i guess i still find takeuchi yuko lacking in the expression department.
Mahiru no tsuki [真晝の月]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
moving... i liked the main actor a lot - both his role and his acting. the struggles of both the characters - one healing and the other coping - was incredibly dramatic and heart-renching.
Majo no jouken [魔女の条件]
Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched)
not bad i guess...
Maou [魔王]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
i thought this drama had a great mix of suspense, moving scenes and character development. the cast were superb! music was pretty cool too.
Meguri ai [めぐり逢い]
(Bought)
^^
Moto Kare [元カレ]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
Nothing too exciting or new though, but an overall ok watch. I don't understand why some people feel that Hirosue changed her character in the middle of the drama, I felt that there were definite hints at the start about what was going to happen. One lesson I learned from this drama is to never ask your bf if he still loves his ex AND tell him that his ex still loves him. It's like awakening an almost dead fire. Not the smartest thing to do. lol~
Mukodono 2003 [ムコ殿2003]
Rating: 7/10 (Bought & Watched)
i watched it expecting a lot after seeing (on the box cover) that noriko sakai was a part of it... there was effort, but it sure wasn't enough. the transformation of the main actor from a funny character to a cool one was amazing thou, and i think he took over the show totally - the other chars didn't matter, nor did the story. it has funny as well as touching...but i hated the plug ins of live telecasts. thank God i had a copy and could fastforward it whenever it entered this part... :(
Mukodono! [ムコ殿/女婿大人]
Rating: 8/10 (Bought)
Hilarious and heartwarming!! Nagase is sooo kakkoi~~ XD
My Boss, My Hero [マイボスマイヒロ]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
brilliant cast, funny, highly entertaining, light-hearted, sugoi omoshiroi ze~~~!!!
My Little Chef
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
cute~
Nanbaa Wan [ナンバーワン]
Rating: 5/10 (Watched)
errr...
Ningen shikkaku [人間・失格]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
started strong..powerful, promising and profound. but went downhill once makoto (doumotou tsuyoshi) died in ep 6.. once the adults took over the drama, it lacked the depth the story initially made you believe it will have. the kids were the real jem of this drama.
Nisennen no koi [二千年の恋]
(Bought)
dl chuu~
Nobuta wo Produce [野ブタ。をプロデュース]
Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched)
fun! i liked yamapi a lot!! =D
Nodame Cantabile [のだめ カンタビ−レ]
Rating: 10/10 (Watched)
i thought the first episode was hilarious lol~ i can't help but chuckle when i see the exaggerated reactions! yappa only the japanese can most effectively turn manga antics into live action ne~ just finished it and my o my had this drama got me hooked!!! i even miss waiting for it every week now... ;_; everything about this drama spells SUPERB ENTERTAINMENT! it's just too fun... absolutely love it!
Omiai kekkon [お見合い結婚]
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
it's ok. it's got matsu takako. but it doesn't have what it takes to be one of the ranks. didn't like matsu's character that much...
Orange Days [オレンジデイズ]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
actually Kashiwabara Takashi is a part of the cast. XP
Osen [おせん]

the first episode was great! i was expecting something with a low-budget feel, but everything's cool~ uchi's a good addition too. but of course, it's all about aoi yuu! if only i can find subs to understand all those difficult words.. XD
Otousan [おとうさん]
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
has an all-star cast.. but the story is pretty predictable as it is quite a cliche family drama... if u like the cast, then watch it and see the diff kind of roles the stars portray (e.g. hirosue as an inert and submissive girl)..but other than that, it doesn't have much to offer.
Over Time [オーバー・タイム]
Rating: 10/10 (Bought & Watched)
*dokidoki* one of the best dramas i've EVER watched! i cried a lot during this drama, thou it's not even that tear-jerking. i also learned a lot about love and relationships from it. ^^ loved sorimachi!
Papa to Musume no Nanokakan [パパとムスメの7日間]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
enjoyable drama - had lots of laughs, weird moments, and important lessons to reflect upon.. the father was the one to deliver the whole drama, though aragaki had a decent performance too...
Pride [プライド]
Rating: 9/10 (Bought & Watched)
if there's kimtaku, u gotta love it~ XD it wasn't a 10 cz i didn't like his leading lady that much, she lacked expression... ^^>
Proposal Daisakusen [プロポーズ大作戦]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
gahhh watching ken suck for 10 whole episodes was really frustrating~ i was also disappointed by the fact that the story had felt like there was no development; you could miss one episode and not lose anything since nothing changed. but yamapi and masami did a great job with their performances so they really saved this drama!
Pu-Pu-Pu jump
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
twas ok... didn't know abt V6 beforehand, yet despite that fact, i did watch it religiously everyday on TV... :)
rinbukyoku [輪舞曲]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
hmmm what can i say.. it started out promising to be a well-thought of, mind-boggling and action-packed drama that had a twist of love in it... yet it was nothing of the above. action scenes were slow and boring, the drama part was cheesy, and worse of all, the story was poorly conceived and too predictable. it had a good start, which was one of the reasons why i kept watching (hoping that i'd eventually find something deep)..but by the end i realized this was just a waste of my time. one thing i realized after watching koori no sekai and this is that japanese aren't very good at writing suspense stories. =_=||
ROOKIES [ルーキーズ]

too many bishies to pass.. but the storyline seems old.. we'll see.
Ruten no Ouhi - Saigo no Koutei [流転の王妃・最後の皇弟]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
nice!!
Ryokiteki na Kanojo [猟奇的な彼女]
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
i didn't watch the original movie so I can't compare.. but i thought kusanagi was pretty decent and funny (slightly losing his reserved majime image).. tanaka rena was ok, but i was hoping she would be a lot sassier; unfortunately they had to put in A LOT of cliche to break the mood. decided to quit watching after ep 2...
Ryusei no Kizuna [流星の絆]

watching~~~ kyaaa i want ryo and erika to be together!!!
Sailor Fuku to Kikanju [セーラー服と機関銃]
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
ok, i was really hopeful since this has masami in it (loved her performance in sekachuu movie)... but ack! i couldn't continue after the 1st episode.. it had a i-already-know-what-will-happen feel from the beginning, and masami didn't shine at all! very disappointed.
Sapuri [サプリ]
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
watched first few eps and stopped. misaki ito's acting really doesn't reach me; i bet this would've been a lot more promising if they chose a more effective leading actress.
Satorare [サトラレ]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
quite entertaining and funny... has its own share of jdrama cliche touching scenes.. it might be cliche, but hey it's still touching. :P
Seija no koushin [聖者の行進]
Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched)
I've always liked Japanese films & dramas for its brutal honesty, rawness and its distinct kind of sensitivity in portraying certain issues. Powerful performance from its cast.
Sekai no chuushin de, ai wo sakebu [世界の中心で、愛をさけぶ]
(Bought)
miru chuu~
Shiroi Kyoto [白い巨塔]
Rating: 10/10 (Bought & Watched)
intense! shows the other side of the medical world.. but what I found most eye-opening is the part about how the situation is for families who decide to charge a case against their doctor/s..(how they suffer, how they are perceived and treated by others, and how much courage they must muster in order to do what they did..) meaningful and tearjerking, a wonderful break fr the usual love stories! ^O^
Shomuni [ショムニ]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
liked it a lot~~~!! very entertaining and funny.
Shomuni 2 [ショムニ 2]
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
watched only a few episodes... didn't like it as much as the first.
Slow Dance [スローダンス]
Rating: 7/10 (Bought & Watched)
I'm continually amazed by Tsumabuki's ability to portray a "barrier-free" heart. When I watch him in roles like this (check out his movie Josee), I remember how Takuya was in Beautiful Life. There are only a handful of men who can pull it off; men who could see past age, disabilities and all other "differences," and just see the woman for who she is.. AND make it feel like he's truly attracted to the woman.
Sora Kara Furu Ichioku no Hoshi [空から降る一億の星]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
very very different. mind-boggling. but wonderful performance (as usual) by takuya! :D
SP [エスピー]
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
ok, now i know why okada junichi is so "ninki" among women.. he's quite charismatic i must say.. the action scenes in the drama were pretty cool too for a japanese production.. but overall the story was weak and the episodes didn't connect at all.. not even in terms of character build-up. i'll def check out another okada drama from now on though :)
Stand UP!!
Rating: 7/10 (Bought & Watched)
considering the cast, i thought this was gonna be a fun & good one. i guess the others were able to deliver, with the exception of the leading man. i really didn't like the way he made his acting seem lazy, as if he wasn't even trying. the concept was good though and i liked all the other actors, esp narimiya! <3
Star no Koi [スタアの恋]

Summer snow
Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched)

Taburoido [タブロイド]
Rating: 5/10 (Watched)
got to watch only a few episodes... but i didn't like the few episodes i saw either. :S kashiwabara was cute and handsome as usual! :)
Taiyou no uta [タイヨのうた]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
after 1 L of Tears, I was expecting a spectacular performance by Sawajiri again... but no such thing happened. It was as if her heart was not in this drama; throughout the drama you could feel her half-heartedness and lack of effort because as long as you have seen 1LoT, you know she could give so much more. The lead stars lacked chemistry, accompanied by an even more lackluster supporting cast and story. It's still a 7 because it's better than other dramas I've seen, but Sawajiri's shine has definitely gone down in my book.
Tengoku ni ichiban chikai otoko [天国に一番近い男]

Tokyo Tower ~Okan to Boku to, tokidoki, Oton [東京タワー2007]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
it was a poignant drama.. mokomichi actually pulled it off pretty well, the character just lacked growth I guess. It just seemed that one after one things were happening that were supposed to have a profound impact on him, but then he generally remained the self-centered spoiled brat he was at the beginning.
Toshiie to Matsu [利家とまつ]

Rating: 5/10 (Watched)
ugh... i intensely disliked this drama. if only takenouchi wasn't a part of this, i wouldn't have wasted my time. i really expected it to become better in time, but it just kept on disappointing me. i liked the songs thou. the ending was blech... :(
Yama Onna Kabe Onna [山おんな壁おんな]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
i usually steer away from misaki itoh.. but the drama was actually pretty funny & entertaining tho really chessy~ loved the men in the drama - so charismatically funny esp the aomori-ben guy! XD
Yamada Taro Monogatari [山田太郎ものがたり]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
pretty funny! has its heartwarming as well as goofy moments.. the kids were adorable to watch~ an-chan! ^^
Yamato Nadeshiko [やまとなでしこ【大和撫子】]
Rating: 7/10 (Bought & Watched)
Matsushima was stunning as always.. but I don't like the male lead. =S
Yankee Bokou ni Kaeru [ヤンキー母校に帰る]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
hmm i wonder why but i liked this teacher-student relationship drama far far more than let's say, gokusen or gachibaka. i guess it was because this drama felt a bit more real to me; the main character (teacher) was not a rare kind of breed that stood out from the rest; he was persistent, caring and supportive because that was how he was taught by his former teachers. and unlike other dramas of the same genre, he was not surrounded by a bunch of good for nothing fellow teachers. i appreciated its realism, how they didn't blame everything on the elders/parents/teachers. most importantly, i appreciated how they showed that only the person in question (students) could effect change, not their surroundings to change for them (eg. their parents suddenly changing after being scolded.) let's just say it was less mushy. :P
Yasashii Jikan [優しい時間]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
watched it for nagasawa masami. i kinda found her portrayal here disturbing, esp when she blanks out as she drops plates.. her expression shows something deeper and more warped than the explanation that she has suicidal tendencies. anyway the drama was overall not too bad, but it's not the kind that would get you hooked. i didn't see how the customers and their stories had any effect on the progression of the drama, that's why I guess most people found this extremely dragging. With the title, I think the drama is meant to be slow and gentle and beautiful; it is - but it lacked the most important thing of all - depth.
Yoiko no Mikata [よい子の味方]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
cute~
Yonigeya honpo [夜逃げ屋本舗]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
wow. i'm the first one to give a comment to this drama. XD frankly speaking, there's not much sense to this drama; you don't know where it's going to or why it was even made. i guess it's a kind of fiction/fantasy made for the modern Japanese - that there exists a group of people who could help them escape from their financially-burdened lives & let them restart again. I gave it a 7 for the entertainment value.
Yuukan kurabu [有閑倶楽部]
Rating: 5/10
saw first ep.. seems kinda bleh compared to hanakimi & hyd~ junno was really funny in it though. decided against watching past ep 1.
Zettai Kareshi [絶対彼氏]
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
aibu saki was kinda weak... =S mokomichi's ok tho lacks the "dashing" or "cute" feel i was expecting.. pleasant surprise is mizushima hiro!!! dropped after ep 3.
