though the plot revolving around the kids was touching, i felt there was no impact to the show. was quite a surprise when kimura lost the race in the last episode. and i'm still wondering how come kimura and koyuki suddenly just hit it off like that when there was hardly any hint of fondness for each other. i felt the racing theme could have been better explored. they should decide whether to have the children's home as the main theme or racing as the main theme. though Pride had other elements apart from ice hockey, the main and side themes were explored much better. the kids really made the show worth the watch though. |

I gave it a 7 not because it was not nice, but becase after watching 68 dramas, this is just another of those really sweet jap dramas that touches ur heart. I liked it nevertheless, though the cast was not the usual popular stars, with the exception of nanako. She looked so young back then. oh god.. i watched it only cos all the reviews said it was good. i had to force myself to finish the entire 8 discs and it really disappointed me. the acting was great no doubt, the scenery too. but it was so long and draggy and the last scene was such a letdown. i mean.. it was great directing, but... i like dark dramas.. i enjoyed sora kara furu ichi oku hoshi. i enjoyed california no yume. i enjoyed several others.. but this one.. only the part they revealed his past was well.. rather touching. i'm sure i'm not void of emotions cos i cry so easily at almost everything.. but this one really failed to make me feel much. the love between the 2 leads was so subtle i'm wondering if i'm imagining it! yes, matsuyuki likes the guy.. but did he like her?? and i thought i read she had her own past.. but hers was hardly well brought out. in fact, it was so briefly touched on i din feel anything at all. i wouldnt really recommend this show. the music got on my nerves after a while too. overrated to me. period. |

beautifully written dark story. very inspirational to me, since i'm watching it at the age of 21. it's encouraging to know that there are probably a few others who feels like me now. comforted to know the scriptwriter understands wat i feel at times. give this show a go if u somehow feel something's missing in ur life. u mite feel better after that! shibasaki kou and dohmoto tsuyoshi were really good. :) | |
