amrayu, is there a turotial i can look up to teach me how to time and encode? i have a copy of gokusen special from streamload and it has subtitles. however, they're not permanent. the subtitles are in a separate file in .smi format. i've been to doom9.org but i still dont quite understand and it seems that the site is concerned with primarily ripping dvds. any help you or anyone can give me is greatly appreciated. thanks! Big Grin

go to www.dvdrhelp.com, theres more guides there that can help you with adding subtitles. that is where i learned how to do it. go to the left menu and click on the link for guides.
all you will need to do is encode the file again (w/the subs).

Anyone knows Takeshi speaks fluent English? I haven't seen his English movies. His English was rather Engrish in Golden Bow, deliberately made?
Actually I like his English quotes: "Jesus christ(o)!", "Ooh my god!" "I pick left" etc. with a little Engrish pronunciation Mr Green

Just finished watching Golden Bowl and I have a question:

SPOILER WARNING

After the credits, there's a shot of the locker room in Golden Bowl and someone, presumably Takeshi using the no.13 locker. What's the significance of this? They should have ended with the shot of the cats on the roof. Anyone got any explanation of the final scene? It felt very pointless to me.

*Minor spoilers*

His previous love life has been unlucky, the key number refers to him. Now he no longer needs the key since he has found the love of his life, fortune Smile

Btw "13" means lucky in Asia, opposite in the western, hehe.

I thought it related back to the name Hitomi (I think it was mentioned in one of the early eps?). I don't have my Japanese Dictonary in fromt of me, but my guess was the you could use Kanji for 13 in one of their alternate sounds to spell out Hitomi. Similar to how they used the same or similar Kanji as you would for "Male" or "Boys" to spell out Dango in Hana Yori Dango.
