No problem! I know exactly what you mean -- before I started living in Japan, I always assumed katakana = foreign words. Actually, it still takes me a longgggg time to read katakana... kind of pathetic

Yeah, you'll see that. They sometimes do it to give it a more Japanese feel, or to soften the emphasis. As you can tell, kanji are quite square and pointy, whereas hiragana are softer and more rounded. The less formal nature of using katakana can also be used to make the reader feel "closer" to the write, more like a friend. _________________

Is this a song title or lyrics? I'm just gonna translate the characters and maybe that'll help.
�� = Arashi (you know who they are)
���]�� = Jitensha - bicycle
���d = Hatsuden - telegraph
�� = de, short for desu = is
���� = kore - this
�L�V�C = kisshi - got no idea what that means, maybe "kiss"?
�ƔR���s���� = to moe tsukiru - and the flame is burned out.
