I'm on SCV Maxonline.. speed-wise it's great but as for value, I'm not sure how to compare tho.

i recommend SCV as generally, in comparison from comments from my friends who use broadband SCV seems to be faster. SCV max dl can go up to 200+ KB while broadband goes up to only about 50... thats what i heard anyway.

If u are a d/ler of large files, SCV cable is better cos there's more general bandwith. But expect times of a v crappy connection ... I like my pacnet 384k. Stable connection but its bandwith is quite limited cf to SCV.

Be advised MaxOnline 1500 vs MaxOnline 3000, tat ur upload bandwith is still the same. Wat some pple have discussed on hardware forums is tat this is a bottleneck n tat the supposed 2 times increase bandwith is not really as claimed by Starhub.

i guess it depends on the area you're in... personally here in bukit timah i've never met with crappy speeds ever b4... the worst was like 150K++...

upload limit is around 15k... basically scv for downloading more than uploading

I got bored and made this topic out of curiosity.

My fastest single d/l was 2.1 mb/sec, over irc (yeah i know, u should seen my face after i read the log file)

My fastest Multi-d/l was when I was just got a cable modem and I was useing BT to d/l multiple J-drama series. I would have to say that I peaked at about 3 mb/sec (finshed off series in like 5 min, while on 56k it woulda taken me a week maybe more)

I feel for you, marecore. i used to have dial-up and it would take about a week per episode. since i've gotten dsl in december, the fastest d/l speed that i've seen on my machine is about 50/60k per sec, and that is usually with 1 torrent d/l at a time. still no way near your 3mb/sec!!! Now that is speed!

i think they're posting in bits/sec.
Coz, if those are bytes/sec, that's like T3 speeds already. (i want one as well)
Anyway, i get about 150kB/s (~1.5mb/s) when downloading anime since there's usually an abundance of seeds (<20 mins for a 150MB ep).
but my upload sucks. If i set my upload anywhere above 12kB/s my download speed tkaes a dive.
