Hey people,

I was viewing the official webby for new Fuji TV winter drama 'beginner', and I watched the trailer... the background song sounds very familiar, but I just can't seem to pinpoint who the singer is and what the song title is. Help, anyone? BTW, it's an English song... probably an oldie.

Just click on the link to listen to a sample...
http://wwwc.fujitv.co.jp/beginner/trailer01.html

Also, if anyone happened to catch Kyumei Byoto 24 Ji 2, the last episode where Kosaka sensei was waiting for Shindo in the restaurant had an English song playing in the background as well. again, I really cannot pinpoint what song is that... I know this is a v. vague description, but if anyone knows, do point it out to me.. thanks so much in advance.

That is the Carpenter's "There's a Kind of Hush" if I'm not mistaken.

Right that's it!!! Thanks so much Slackey.

Now for the song with the vague description... sigh. I only remember the lyrics 'it's impossible'. Now as if that would be of much help... Rolling eyes

hello all. sorry if this is the wrong forum.

anyway I spent time in japan this year and on my flight home on Swiss air I listened to an inflight jpop cd they had.

There was one really catchy song but my description is very obscure so hardened j pop fans take note Big Grin

All I really remember was a small piece of the chorus in english which went:

Happy day, happy time, happy smile....lalalala (meaning i don't know rest)

I would be so greatful if anyone has an idea what it is. Maybe a song from last year? I am not sure.

Thankyou

It's a female, very cute voice and fast paced. I know it's tough but the bloody chorus has been in my head for ages. I just seem to hum it.
I tried a lyric search but without luck. If anyone reads japanese and can do lyric searches on japanese sites that might help.

All i know is most of it is in Japanese, save for that small chrous bit - very catchy

I also remember a tiny bit more, at the end of the chorus she says "be happy" I did a search but there's quite a lot of songs called Be Happy :/

there was also another song that i really liked that i heard a few times on the radio.
I think the artist is Shiina Ringo but I do not know the name of the song - just that it has a line where she says "moshi moshi" it's a very nice, slow song.
anyone got any ideas?

well here's where my extremely limited knowledge of japanese comes in handy but moshi moshi is the traditional way to answer a phone in japan so maybe something about a phone??

I remember earlier this yr i saw a bunch of bilboards that showed the girl in the group "Tommy February6" talking on the phone in a song. I've heard that son, and can remeber the tune, but not the lyrics. I hope that can lead you to your "Holy Grail".
