HAHAHA. And to think that people walk down the street wearing those things there, the way people here walk without a shirt or barefoot. (Usually the [fat/obese] "HA-Y-Ns" who do it here) Rolling eyes

lol, i know my mom had an issue of "mines"...some magazine for the mommy in ya. that had some trends in it...

i think japan is a little behind as far as fashion trends to the western world. it's either your style is dull and boring, or way out of whack in japan. there is no in-between. sad to see those pretty girls wreck their hair and tan themselves dry Bonk

EVERYONE wants to be different in some sort of way.

In society nowadays, it's only those who have enough balls to actually MAKE the (obvious) change.

Unfortunately, these are the kind of people who rarely have the chance to succeed in their desired careers because they are "different".

Only if they choose to stay that way............

For the women, when I see some J-Drama Star, or singer, I think it's very nice when they have a color between red and orange... But dark hair is really nice too..
And if you don't dye your eyebrows or if you have a mix of red and dark hair, this is the end, it's very ugly...

For me black hair 10/10 Lovey Eyes
red/orange, with eyebrow and no mix of black and red : 9/10 Lovey Eyes
Bad color : 4/10 Sweat

For the men, it's different, it looks so gay.. I don't understand, they can have very nice long dark hair, and they dye it Sweat
I wish I could have long hair ( and good hair ) like asians but I can't...

[edit] my first post sux, so i don't post a second : i have another interesting question :
I just watched that in Korea ( south ) , it was more polite to take a glasses with your 2 hands, and not to look the other person siting un front of you when you are drinking.
They said it is the same is many of countries in Asia. Is it true ?
If it is, I think I can't be polite there Sad

Maybe it is in Korea, but that is definitely not true in the Philippines. My parents, who are definitely Chinese in almost every aspect, have never communicated such a courtesy to me. I think people don't really care about these little things anymore, or maybe it only depends on how they are brought up by their parents. In the case of the Philippines, I don't really see the need to do what you have mentioned even among people of the older generation.

Just speaking from experience. Smile

Not so for Japan.

I don't know what kind of Koreans who did that. But Korean's are almost the same as the Japanese.
I believe we (Japanese) are decendants of Koreans back in (God knows when) time.

The Japanese see-through skirts are pretty much a joke. And all the women have 80s style clothing on--so yeah. Good photoshop-ing, I think.

In any case, hair-dyeing IS big in Japan, but the new color is a deep chestnut brown which is actually pretty cool--or it depends on one of the styles that you fall in. If you're an "ONE"-san (oh-nay), you probably have some orange-y brown color. Auburn, I suppose. And it's long and loosely permed. If you're "STREET FASHION" you probably can pick any color you like, but if you don't have to go to a strict High School or work or Job Interviews, you've probably got any color of hair you like. If you're into the more strange fashions, it's probably been dyed BLACKEST BLACK or Platinum Blonde. Most people go for deep chestnut browns or auburns though.

So far as clothes, snowcaps are very popular as they have been for about 3 years. Polka dots and stripes are still fashionable with all sorts of leg warmers to match--or mismatch--with your knee-length shorts......if you're a girl. If you're a guy, you're probably wearing Converse with faded blue jeans and a very loose--almost lopsided--cotton sweater, with a low-V-neck T-shirt below. And you've got the perfect belt to match. And your hair is spikey, while being chestnut brown, black or ALMOST auburn.

Just what I've been seeing on the streets lately here in Japan. The people who wear only brand names are the same in ANY COUNTRY of brand-name wearers--everything matches and goes with a shiny pair of heels (girls). You don't see so many classy-dress brandname-wearing guys though. Unless they're the hosts at those bars for women who can't get dates with men and just want to spend $1,000 of dollars to talk to young, hot men.
