Hey Betsy I just started reading Samurai Deeper Kyo (I'm on book 4). Have you read all of it? So far I'm enjoying it, but does it get better? I also started reading Bleach. Very funny!

i buy Mangas which are translated to Bahasa Malaysia cuz they are dirt cheap. the only downside is that the release for a volume is amazingly slow [2months/volume]. but recently, i'm thinking of getting some ENglish ones too.

I agree 100%

IMO, Ecchi/Humor such as Love Hina or Ichigo 100% are better in manga version

I usually buy the Japanese manga since I can read Japanese (but, a little weak on kanji). I usually like comics that deal with paranormal or horror themes like Ghosthunt, Psychometer Eiji, Bleach, etc., but I also enjoy reading fighting types too like Hunter x Hunter. I think my all time favorite manga is Yu Yu Hakusho.

I buy whichever is cheapest so usually the Japanese ones since it's $4 or $5 cheaper. The only exception was the Tokyopop version Paradise Kiss which was $2 or $3 bucks cheaper than the Japanese verson.

As far as series, I don't know your taste. I stick to mainly shoujo manga myself like Hana Yori Dango, Peach Girl, Fruits Basket, etc.

hehe, who said i could understand the japanese??? Beaten
i'm still learning Smile

I wouldn't be able to describe very well about how good Bleach is, so...
here's a summary from listerx.com!

!!!SPOILER AHEAD SPOILER AHEAD SPOILER AHEAD!!!
(for Bleach)

"Surly Ichigo Kurosaki is set apart from other high school students by his orange hair and ability to see ghosts. Most of the time the ghosts he encounters are just harmless sprits in need of some help, which Ichigo provides in order to get them to leave him alone. He doesnft think too much of this power until one night, when he comes home to the clinic where he lives with his father and younger sisters (mother deceased). After supper, a strange girl enters his room by floating through his wall. Shefs Rukia Kuchiki, a shinigami (god of death) for an organization called the Soul Society. Rukiafs shocked when Ichigo can see her, since normal humans canft see a shinigami. Before Rukia can figure out what Ichigo is, a huge monster attacks the Kurosaki clinic. The monster is a ehollowf, an evil sprit that eats human souls, dead or alive. Rukia and Ichigo lure it away from the home, though Ichigofs family gets badly hurt. Outside, Rukia gets injured when she steps between Ichigo and the hollow. Because shefs no longer in a condition to fight, Rukia gives her shinigami power to Ichigo, whofs then able to defeat the hollow.

Ichigo goes to school the next day, thinking itfs all over, but then he meets the new transfer student. Itfs Rukia! Turns out that when she lent Ichigo her powers, he accidentally took them all. This means Rukiafs no longer a shinigami, while Ichigo can transform into one with Rukiafs help. Despite his reluctance, Ichigo agrees to help Rukia fight hollows and guide sprits to the Soul Society.

Not long after Ichigo gets his powers, Rukia suspects a classmate of their's may be targeted by a hollow. Orihime Inoue is a flighty but kind girl whose brother died several years ago. Bitter and thinking that his sister has forgotten him, Orihimefs older brother has turned into an angry hollow. Will Rukia and Ichigo be able to put his soul to rest before he harms Orihime?"
