This may be old news to everyone else, but I thought it was worth a try.

KTSF's main web site is, for those who want Japanese Drama, useless.

But I found another site:

http://www.fuji-tv.com/us/index.html

And these folks seem to claim responsibility for programing the Saturday Night, English subtitled shows.

It's a Fuji company, but it says they provide the subtitled TBS "trendy" dramas, the NHK Taigo Dramas, and the Sturday morning shows...

They list their contact email address as:

[email protected]

Any chance the other Nor Cal fans (and anyone else for that matter)would like to join me in badgering them to put on stuff we'd like to see?

I've already sent requests for:

Bewitched in Tokyo and the 4 part special, "Love and Youth in Takarazuka"

But I think we'd have more success if we put up a united front.

Anyone interested in trying?

Hot diggity Elton!

I haven't gotten a response yet, but I only found the site on Friday, so who knows.

I figure I'll just keep spaming them with requests for "Bewitched" and "Takarazuka" until I hear something.

As for the Sat Morning show... what do you think? "Churasan 2" once "Sakura" finally (if ever) ends? Or is there something else you've heard about?

I'm kind of leaning toward Churasan 2 because I"ve heard that Miho Kanno returned to do the second series.

Hey,

I'd go with Chura-san 2. I haven't seen all of 1 yet but anything with kanni miho is great! Big Grin

So I should just email them request? I wanted to try to request Trick 3 or Fireboys also Big Grin

That's what I'm doing.

I haven't asked for Fireboys, mostly because they are running it on IC right now (no subs) and (IMO) it's pretty lame. Melodrama 101.

But asking for Trick 3 with subs is a good idea. Though I've never seen that one for sale with subtitles.

It might be rough to try to get Trick 3 on KTSF since they never showed Trick or Trick 2.

Yea that's true, well I'll drop them an email for "Bewitched" and "Takarazuka" later on as well as Chura-san 2. I think it's better that we all ask for the same dramas then that way they get the message much louder.

Another drama that I'd like to see subbed would be Yume no California

Sounds like a plan.

Okay:

Bewitched in Tokyo

Churasan 2

Love and Youth in Takarazuka

And really, anyone else who'd like to join in, whether you're from Northern California, SoCal, Brazil, London, or HK.

I think it would be a trip for this little local TV station to be getting the same program requests from all over the world.

Well, I can't find the thread about what's coming up on KTSF, so I guess this is as good a place to say this as any.

On Sunday, June 13, in the 10 pm time slot, KTSF will begin to run;

"TO THE ONE I LOVE" Staring Kanno Miho.

Of course, being a Sunday night show, it won't have subtitles. But considering the number of Miho fans out there, I thought it worth mentioning.

Loveless

KTSF has been airing Japanese shows on the weekends since 1972.

During the week it's all Chinese and Korean programing. But on Saturday and Sunday nights it's all Japan.

Saturday nights for shows with English Subs.

Sunday nights for shows without subs.

It ain't much... It ain't enough! But it's all we've got.

(Well, to be fair, it was enough to get me hooked.)

only bigger name cities will get this channel. Mr Green
mostly the bay area.. other parts of NorCAL won't get this channel (especially the valley, wont get these channels).
big name cities such as Oakland, SF, San jose, and the little neighboring cities all get this channel. (i know because i used to live in the valley before..thats where Ren is).

Okay. "MY LITTLE CHEF" has ended its run on KTSF, and tonight they've announced its replacement:

"KOUGEN E IRASSHAI" ("Welcome to the High Plains")

Staring Sato Koichi and Nishimura Masahiko.

Okay, not my first choice. But it could have been worse. Who knows.

"Welcome to the High Plains" begins its run in the San Francisco Bay area on KTSF at 8pm, Saturday, July 17th.

*Sakura still grinding her way to an end. No word on what will replace her.
