That is good news although I think they still count on KIKU TV and HTN for the subtitled programming. I personally felt that PBS should have or should in the future, air the Atsuhime series. It gives Americans a view of others, and our interaction with them that we don't hear about in our media.
So tell did you enter a Hula contest or did they sent you a CD?
Miss Japan too, it is one year to the date! Applaud

Gah, we can't tune in KTSF tonight. There seems to be no signal. (Yeah, we're on antenna. There's just not enough TV I care to watch.) Shameful Cry

It came in "5 by 5" where I stay.
I just catch the NHK news on Sunday, however. Nice feature on an earthquake drill. Smile

I haven't tuned in to KTSF lately. Any announcement for Holiday specials or Kohaku Uta Gassen?

What's the longest running Japanese commercial we've seen on this station? Some of them go back longer than 10 years!

Hmm... the SF Fleet and Leasing hasn't changed much over the years. The Kikkoman spots are probably a couple of years old.

The Shochikubai commercial used to have that one guy and a lady at a duck pond, now he's sitting at home getting drunk. Life's rough sometimes. That's why there's Shochikubai!

I have another old commercial that still airs. The one for Joy Driving School, with the lady that ends up on the left side of the road, the instructor yelling Migi, migi, migi!

I think another ancient non-updated/non-revised CM is also automobile-related: its the Ishi Limousine one! I think I have a videotape of JTV from 1996 that includes it.

Also, I think the Dobashi Market one has remained unchanged. As well as the one for the golf store. The one for the various establishments at San Jose's J-town (Gombei Restaurant, travel agency, tofu shop, etc.) seems to be the same, but I think it was slightly updated a few years bacl, perhaps because of one the businesses is no longer there?

Actually I'm glad these local businesses have managed to survive, despite not putting any more money into their CM productions. Instead, they have helped to keep JTV on KTSF by buying most of the CM time Fuji Television and TokyoTV has to sell.

However, when they expand those 2-hour movies to 3 hours for NY's day, with CM breaks every 5-7 minutes, it does get rather trying seeing the same CMs over and over and over......

Yup, the Ishii one hasn't changed. In fact, you'll notice that they simply place a large box with the new phone numbers.

Last Sunday I watched that show where they are touring. Is it Mossimo Tours? I can't find anything on it. Some help? Thanks!

Try this:

http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=ja&u=http://www.fujitv.co.jp/moshimo/index2.html&ei=Zfq2SaGmFImQtQPP04CeDw&sa=X&oi=translate&resnum=1&ct=result&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dhttp://www.fujitv.co.jp/moshimo/index2.html%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DG

Or Google "http://www.fujitv.co.jp/moshimo/index2.html" and chose the "translate this page" option.

Or put the "www.fujitv.co.jp/moshimo/index2.html" address on this page:

http://babelfish.yahoo.com/

And use the "translate a web page" option.

It's "Moshimo"? I thought KTSF had it as Mossimo.

That figures why I couldn't find it. Thanks.

In the recent epi they went to see some fall color - momiji mostly. The trip climaxed with a elevator ride to the top of a tower where they could not only see red maples by a gorgeous waterfall.

The real eye candy was their guest host. Does anyone know her name?

Guest "host"? I don't think you mean the tour guide, but one of the special guests who joins the usual crew of foodies, right?

If so, that was Katase Nana

On KTSF in the past few years, you've probably seen her in Last Christmas, Divorce Lawyer 2, Doctor in Love, and Teppan Girl Akane. She is hot, but I hated her in Doctor In Love - her character was so crazy!
