Story:
The Golden Bowl bowling alley is a bit rundown and lack of business. The Golden Bowl is stockbroker (Takeshi Kaneshiro) Shu Akutagawa's favorite hang out afterwork. When he met (Hitomi Kuroki)a housewife, Hitomi, who share the same locker during the day, things start to heat up as Shu teams up with her to challenge some pro bowlers. And a relationship developed...Sorry NO Spoiler.

Review (8 Stars):
I like Kaneshiro in a romantic comedy setting because he was pretty good at it. It was a great change from God, please give me more time and Love 2000. This clearly showed his range. The storyline was smooth and attractive. I am a bowler and I get excited watching all these strikes and spares. As for the famale lead, Hitomi Kuroki, at 40 she shines considered there are many younger beautiful actress in the show. The show's rating in Japan is not that high, it was around 12%. But please remember, it was World Cup Football time! In general, it was a nice surprise and a keeper. I'm glad that I purchased this one. One final note: all the 50s songs they played were great with a bowling alley setting!

Hi anyone has any idea when the drama Golden Ball with Takeshi Kaneshiro in it will be out in VCD and available in Singapore?

It has already been available on vcd for quite some time now. I guess the problem is that it isn't available in stores with the whole Japanese drama vcd situation. Try ordering online.

Just a correction on the name of the Drama, It's Golden Bowl, for bowling, in case you were searching on the net or something.

Yup! me too! A familiar face, seen her before I'm quite sure of it. Gotta re-watch the scene tonight, prolly find out. All I know she isn't close to Hitomi Kuroki! The "cat-scene" was lovely

Thanks Arashinokoto. Anyone know what other jdramas she's done? Her face is so familiar yet I can't remember a single jdrama she's been in. Or maybe the scene with her at the swimming pool is so etched in my memory that I think I've seen her b4.

yah i was trying to put a pic.. looks like it didn't work out.. she did a korean movie though.. called saulubi or something like that.. and she's an AV idol.. so if you have seen her somewhere.. "cough cough".. joking.. she looks a bit like that miyabi from GTO in some angles i thought.. see if this pic works..

The AV idol thing is a joke? It would explain why her face is so familiar though. Can't remember Miyabi's face from GTO, only can remember Matsushima Nanako. And my GTO cd has been lent to so many ppl I don't even know where it is.

Checking out some Aimi Nakamura pix (Miyabi). They don't look that similar. Looks like Umemiya Masako has an idol DVD called crossroad. Maybe I saw her in one of my Japanese movies but IMDB only lists her in the korean movie. Sigh. Looks like I may never find out why her face seems so familiar.

I find Golden Bowl entertaining esp. with Takeshi in a comedic role. At times he seemed to over-act (a carryon from his serious roles?). Does anyone hv the episode guide? Does Takeshi and Hitomi end up together? What abt Umemiya? She seemed to be the pitiful one since Hitomi's husband wants her but yet can't let go of his wife.

But personally, I feel that the episodic synopsis is very brief, more like a summary. But that's the only episodic synopsis I know of on the web.
