Playoffs start this weekend. Since the NFL is talking about expanding the number of teams that make the playoffs (an idea I don't like), I hope Carolina gets at least to the NFC championship game and maybe all the way to the Super Bowl with a losing record.
There's also my standard every year playoff hope: ABC (Anybody But the Cowboys)

Haha, that would require them to beat the Seahawks at the Clink, where basically none of the Panthers have played before. It would also require Cam to be at his best, which he is currently not. I watched the Panthers "beat" the Cardinals... More like they got out of the way so the Cards could beat themselves. The Panthers could theoretically beat the Hawks, but it is not likely

Jeez, you seem to be rooting for teams that I don't like at all... Though I am glad that Baltimore eliminated Pittsburgh.

Seems that way but if the Panthers do somehow win, I'll be rooting for them. As far as the AFC goes, I don't really have a preference now the Steelers are out. As in, I don't really care who else loses as long as the Steelers did. And as long as the Pats lose.

I'm actually hoping for Seahawks/Colts. The Neckbeard is a very good QB, but he isn't the second coming like a lot of people are saying. He might be one day but not yet. I'd like to see him and the Colts get the Broncos treatment.

You have to give Seattle credit. It looked like they were going to do a pretty good job of beating themselves, but with the fake field goal and the onside kick they got the job done.
The real depressing news is for 49er fans if this rumor comes true:

Why would they want Lane Kiffin when they could find any number of infinitely more qualified candidates at just about any junior high school in the country??

2015 NFL Hall of Fame Inductees
PHOENIX -- Former San Diego Chargers linebacker Junior Seau and Kansas City Chiefs guard Will Shields, both 12-time Pro Bowl selections during their NFL careers, were elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame's Class of 2015 on Saturday.
Seau, in his first year of eligibility, Shields, former Pittsburgh Steelers running back and current ESPN analyst Jerome Bettis, wide receiver Tim Brown and defensive end Charles Haley were the five modern-era enshrinees selected in the meeting of the Hall's board of selectors.
The class of 2015 also will include former Minnesota Vikings center Mick Tingelhoff, who played 240 games in his career and was the seniors committee nominee, as well as two nominees in the contributors category -- former Buffalo Bills, Carolina Panthers and Indianapolis Colts general manager and current ESPN analyst Bill Polian, as well as longtime NFL executive Ron Wolf.

His name is hard to spell, but his size is even harder to miss.
BYU signed 6-foot-7, 410-pound Motekiai Langi Wednesday as part of its football signing class, all the way from Liahona High School in Tonga.
According to BYU's youtube.com blurb on Langi -- which is absent of any football highlights -- the massive recruit has a background in rugby. It also indicates Langi is currently on a church mission, so it's unclear when he'll be available to suit up for the Cougars. He is listed as both an offensive and defensive lineman, but it's difficult to imagine him playing anywhere on the defensive line unless the Cougars want to try him at nose guard in its 3-4 defense.
There is no word yet from Cougars coach Bronco Mendenhall as to how much of that 410 pounds the BYU staff will want Langi to lose -- surely, he'll be put on a program to shed some of it. But perhaps not as much as one might think. The 300-pound lineman was considered massive at one time, and now they couldn't be more common. The bar for size on the line of scrimmage always seems to be on the rise at the college level, but Langi doesn't just raise the bar.
