Love Story deals with a Harvard lawyer who fell in love with a Music major student who had leukemia. When things were falling on the right places, the girl had a sudden attack which left her in the hospital. The guy even tried to borrow money for his wife's operation...but sadly, it was all for naught. The girl died.

It was a poignant film, filled with happiness, dissolutionment, resolution, hope, helplessness and resignation. This was the film that made popular the quote, "Love means never having to say you're sorry."

On a completely unrelated note, that's a great photo of Aya-chan in your signature, KT.

She's starting to look like less of a girl and more of a woman.

Yes, 'tis the season for Last Christmas.

Coincidentally, I'll be in Tokyo on Christmas this year.

Right now, I'm taping it without subs. Elton is working on getting it with.

It's gonna take a little while.

By the way, I mentioned this in another thread, but there are a lot of links between the storyline of "Last Christmas" and Oda's 1991 classic, "Tokyo Love Story".

IN '91 he played a guy named Kanchi who just arrived in Tokyo and started working for a company named, "Heart Sport".

In this series, he's Kenji, a project Manager at a company named "Heart Sport".

Both Kanchi and Kenji fall in love with a cutie who works in the office, and who has been romantically linked to the boss.

There's even a scene in both shows where Oda has to race through town in a white van to deliver the vital sports wear, to save the fashion show.

I'm only two episodes into both shows. Can't wait to find out how much more they have in common.

haha, i'm the first minute into Tokyo Love Story and i notice the Heart Sports van already - seemed to recall that in Last Christmas so I looked it up and lo and behold, i wasn't imagining things hehe

if TLS is anything like Last Christmas - i think i'll be in for a good time Bonk

There was a drama showing at my local channel last weekend. I recognized Oda and Heart Sports. I thought it was a prequel to Last Christmas but now I know it's not. So that's Tokyo Love Story. I need to watch that in the future.

Anyways, Last Christmas was the first JDorama I've watch. I liked the story, very realistic. And the acting was pretty good and entertaining. This drama got me hook in other dramas. I've been using the Top 50 list as my guide. I've seen GTO, Gokusen, Summer Snow (my favorite so far), Pride and Hana Yori Dango. I'm watching Beautiful Life right now.

I believe there isn't.

The characters from both drama are different and the way the romance went about is somewhat different too right.......?

I only saw like 2 eps of Tokyo Love Story so i can't back up what i say 100% Beaten

I don't think Yuki's disease was ever named in the drama. However seeing that the '5-year relapse rate' was mentioned a few times, and that the disease seems to be operable, I'd venture to guess it is some kind of cancer.
