I watched a few episodes of LC, and it's nice show so far. but what really bothers me is the yet again overabuse of some by now cheesy english soundtrack. Don't get me wrong, I grew up listening to Wham, but this really does it - not to mention the engrish version by Oda himself? bleh really annoying to see him raping the classics hehe It's rather funny to hear those Gloria Estefan songs at the radiostation. The producer/writer of LC must have been stuck in the 80's hehe

another show that comes to mind is Pride, even though Queen/Freddy Mercury has my respect, hearing those old songs back being abused on jdoramas really frightens me.

I like 80s but I don't find it abusive at all. I kind of like the 80s music in their. Gives it a good theme and really matches the drama. Makes it classy rather than cheesy IMO

no, the best line in the whole series was, "kenji no sei dayo, kenji no seide shinitakunai!", but that was yuki's line...so its cant be the pimpest..

and i dont know, personally, oda's version of both songs sounds better to me than the originals....i guess now the hardcore 80s fans are gonna flame me...

oh and how can you be mad about oda's remake of last christmas since like a dozen people already made remakes of it(backstreet boys, hillary duff, jimmy eat world, beatles to list a few)

I don't mind remakes, when it's done properly Sweat hehe

that they used Last Christmas is still acceptable, but "Wake me up before you go go" used in a show in 2004: can't get more cheesy than that. Totally destroys the atmosphere for me. when I think skiing or snowboarding, I think techno or punk, any jrock song would suit this show better than multiple tracks from wham best of cd.

I don't find anything wrong with the Wham songs being played and sung by other people. In fact I got the biggest kick out of the Last Christmas drama. I even liked the song when Yuji sang it with SMAP on their show. My only problem is that I can't get the darm tune out of my head.... Talk about a Small World...

As for Freddie Mercury and Queen...that was sheer genius to use those songs in PRIDE.

Songs have always been covered by more than one artist. No other way to hear them when the original dies you know. Shake Head

I don't think there's anything too shabby about the WHAM covers as well. I thought it fit the drama really nicely IMO, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Currently on Ep 8. It's definitely a smashing drama so far. Hopefully this will have a happy ending... =/

Great chemistry by Oda Yuuji and Akiko Yada!! this couple what kept my eyes glued to the TV!! sugoooi! the scene where Kenji cries in ep-10, triggered my tears too Sad

but, gotta say....the love sub-plots sucks!! urrghh....Nana Katase and Tamaki Hiroshi are so YUCK here! soooo boring and annoying!! I like Katase in Shotgun Marriage, and like Tamaki in Waterboys movie. but in this dorama, they're sooo annoying!! i keep fast-forwarding their scenes!

the love triangle between Goro, the sexy girl(MEGUMI) and the boy(Moriyama Mirai) suck, too. but, I like their funny characters ^_^
Kenji's ex-fiance, is damn annoying....yuck! Reminds me alot of Tokyo Love Story's Satomi!!@_@

but, i like Kenji's ex-galfren and her husband's plot coz its soo funny!! haha!!! Pochi is such a KAWAAAAIII dog!!

Love the themesong...but keep wondering...why oh why, does it has to be sung by Oda Yuuji x) he may be a great actor...but not a good singer, IMHO x) sumimasen for fans!

Loooove Akiko Yada here!!!^o^ she's so cute!! didnt expect, she'd make a great pair with Oda Yuuji! woo~! Great casting! and the dorama have BEST ENDING for me^^

so, what is Yuki's past job?? i dun understand why it was made a big fuss in the office! is it really bad? was she a yakuza member or sumthin? and i thought OL is a common job in Japan. but, it seemed like Yuki have to really work HARD to be one....does this mean, to show how low her education degree was?

oh, my fave scene! Where Kenji and Yuki posed TITANIC, LOL!!! and also, coz this is the first sign that shows Kenji's feelings to Yuki ^_^ so sweet....and Yuki just excitedly said, "is that another lecture you give me? soretomo....aaah!! sou ka...! You've fallen for me, deshoouu?!?"...hehee, so cute!

Please continue, with the similarities between Last Christmas and Tokyo Love Story!!^o^ haha, interesting dakara! i've only watched TLS once, so i cant remember every single scene of it....althou the way Yuki calls, "Keen-ji~!", reminds me alot of Rika Akana's "Kaan-chi~!"...i thought i went dejavu there, for awhile x)

ahh...so Last Christmas is the 2nd repentance drama in 2004? The first one, was Eriko Kitagawa's Orange Days, which remind us of many, many of her previous works(Say You Love Me, Asunaro, etc) ^_^

hmm.... this is the 3d time i am watching it & i still like it though... i like the charactor of Oda Yuji's role, Kenji.... this is what i admire most... the caring & support for Yuki Puppy Dog Eyes .... Yuda Akiko's role is also a nice one... her courage to fight against illness is the bonus.... anyway... i simply love the soundtrack.... both Wham & Oda Yuji did a very good version Dancing ... so long it is hooking me along with the flow of the drama will do Victory! Peace! ....

Sorry, I couldn't stand two of my favorite 80's songs being mangled with such a strong accent. Although the slow-motion instrumental between scenes was quite sweet.

I agree, Nana and Hiroshi Tamaki don't interact well. I saw Tamaki with Misaki Ito in Itoshi Kimi-e and he did better there. Moriyama (who was also in IKE) and sexy MEGUMI... they shine in bursts, trying not to take away the spotlight, this is about Oda and Yada not about them. Masanobu Katsumura (who plays Ryo's husband), is always a subtle comedian. In Bara no Jujika and Hakoiri Musume he was always the guy who lightened a serious topic!

Yuji's "Sonnamondarou" in Mayonaka no Ame was AWESOME. Not LC, though.

Yuki was a punk biker, not a full-fledged yakuza.
