Is there anyone who knows where I can download the original series which aired in 1979-1980? I'd love to see it!

Also, does anyone know the real name of Mr. Endo from Series 6? I know that man from somewhere, but I can't place him...!

Now today, I have a different question.
I know the fifth series is subtitled in Traditional Chinese.
However, I would very much like to have those subtitle-files so that I can try to translate them into English.

Does anyone perhaps know where the files can be downloaded?

Chinese softsubs are rare and probably doesn't extend so far back. I don't think they exist for Kinpachi 5. You may be able to find some Korean softsubs on clubbox though, don't know.

Thank you for the information. I will look into it.
It's just that I really want to see the series, and my Japanese is insufficient to be able to watch it as it is...

"Kinpachi-sensei" to retire with special episode in March
Thu, January 20, 2011 (5:37pm EST)
The popular drama series "3 Nen B Gumi Kinpachi Sensei" will come to a conclusion this March with a final special episode. The show, which stars Tetsuya Takeda (61) as a junior high school teacher, has had a total of 8 seasons since 1979, with the last one in 2007-2008. This finale will be the drama's 12th special episode.

The show is known for covering a wide range of real-life problems, such as teenage pregnancy, bullying, gender identity disorder, and drugs. Over the show's 8 seasons, Takeda's character "Kinpachi-sensei" has guided approximately 240 students to graduation. In several cases, the show helped launch the careers of the young stars playing his students, including Kaori Sugita, Kazuya Kamenashi, and Aya Ueto.

The upcoming episode, tentatively titled "3 Nen B Gumi Kinpachi Sensei Final," will deal with Kinpachi-sensei's retirement. Filming starts next week, though the student cast has not yet been reported. TBS plans to broadcast the special at the end of March.

A legend retireing. I only watched the season with Ueto Aya. But those were one of the best dorama I seen. Very touching.
A retirement special would be cool, with old pupils coming back. I want to see Aya again as Nao! Dancing
Wah.... might have had her gender change already by then Sweat hehe

I haven't checked them all, but there appears to be seasons 6, 7 and 8 on www.veoh.com. Not sure how many are subtitled or in what language.

3NBg搶 / 3 nen B gumi Kinpachi Sensei to end at last in March 2011

Singer/actor Takeda Tetsuya (61) who portrayed teacher Sakamoto Kinpachi Sensei in the popular Kinpachi drama series will retire the character at the end of March. The 1st drama series, g3 Nen B Gumi Kinpachi Senseih which aired on TBS back in 1979 will conclude with a special drama episode at the end of March. This 12th special episode will be a compilation of highlights from the past 8 seasons. Therefs also talk about the past 240 students returning for the finale. Takeda was filled with emotion and said, gI cried when I read the script.h

Kinpachi Sensei is finally bidding farewell to Sakura Middle School. The enthusiastic teacher born in 1950 is nearing the retirement age. The special drama tentatively titled, g3 Nen B Gumi Kinpachi Sensei Finalh will air at the end of March is the final chapter to the series. Takeda has successfully portrayed the character for many years.

The Kinpachi series dealt with many social problems such as teenage pregnancy, bullying, gender identity disorder, and drug abuse. The series received much criticism on occasion.

With retirement just at the horizon, Kinpachi Sensei who is in poor health acts normally in front of his students in the finale. Takeda says hefll do his best in this finale with a character that hefs portrayed over a span of 32 years.
-------------------------------

Personally, it's sad for me. Yet I do hope, that this special will finally be subtitled...

151 graduates return for g3 Nen B Gumi Kinpachi Senseih finale

March 6, 2011

With the final episode of the g3 Nen B Gumi Kinpachi Senseih drama series drawing near, more details about the cast have been revealed. It was reported today that 151 of the showfs graduates will make an appearance on the show, which will run for four hours on March 27.

g3 Nen B Gumi Kinpachi Senseih has had 8 seasons since 1979. Lead actor Takeda Tetsuya (61), playing the beloved Kinpachi-sensei, has guided 239 students to graduation during that time. Not counting the third season, which was the only one not set at Sakura Junior High School, there have been 209 students under Kinpachi-senseifs care. With 151 of them returning for the finale, that accounts for more than 70% of his students at Sakura Junior High School.

It was announced in February that Kinpachi-senseifs new class includes Hey! Say! JUMP member Okamoto Keito (17) as a troublemaker named Kageura. The story will unfold when he skips class and runs into Hoshino, a former student from the first season played by Kondo Masahiko (46). Hoshino fondly recounts his memories from his days as student, warning Kageura not to cause trouble for Kinpachi-sensei.

According to Sports Hochi, the confirmed cast includes:

Season 1: Kondo Masahiko, Sugita Kaoru, Tsuchiya Kaori, Mihara Junko
Season 2: Naoe Kiichi, Hikaru Ippei
Season 4: Matsushita Megumi, Sorita Takayuki, Komine Rena
Season 5: Kamenashi Kazuya, Oka Ayumi
Season 6: Toshin Yoshikazu, Motokariya Yuika, Masuda Takahisa, Sato Megumi, Taira Airi
Season 7: Yabu Kota, Yaotome Hikaru, Fukuda Saki
Season 8: Kusakari Mayu, Kutsuna Shiori

Sad that itLs over. But looing forward to see the finale. Will become a tear jearker again, I bet Big Grin
No Aya confirmed for the returning students. ILd love to see her back. Maybe too busy with other work but I think her old fans would appreciate her here more than in something else of her current word. After all this is a clasic and one of the most important work in AyaLs carreer.

Don't know if you are still looking for them, but maybe it will help others. I've already uploaded first 2 seasons with japanese subtitles and planning to upload the rest in the near future.
