No pages are missing: Genma resized the pages... Each page is now 20 posts long, as opposed to the previous 15 posts...

What about a customizable amount of posts per page? Like 10, 25, 50. I've seen this on other forums. Just throwing out some ideas. Smile

I don't see why customizing would be beneficial... It would just allow someone to inflate the total pages they have for a particular thread...

I think you miss interpreted what I said. It doesn't actually affect everyone else or the threads in anywayif that's what you're trying to get at. What I mean is the individual person to customize and view different amount of posts per page.

Oh.... Doh!

Well then that would be a nice feature: it would cut down on the number of pages one would have to scroll through, especially those HUGE threads... Sweat Sweat

Oh, you brought up another idea that I want to address. How about a feature that allows the user to turn off posted pictures on threads by default? They can still have access to the pictures by posting a simple text link to it instead of loading the picture. This would be GREAT for threads that have tons of pics that would tear apart 56k users' (like me hehe) limited bandwidth.

You can pretty much do that by right-clicking and choosing the option (or even better, using mouse gestures).

The problem I see with thumbnail attachments is that there's special code that you'll need to obtain in order for it to work on the forums. Also, I might be wrong about this, but logically, wouldn't making thumbnail attachments (I'm assuming you mean like how imageshack does it) take up more bandwidth and more CPU processes because it needs to render the image AND host the thumbnail on the server?

Hmm, that sounds like a pretty good idea, since I'm running dialup as well... Sweat

Ok, taking note of possible enhancements:

- Let registered user customise number of threads per forum page, and number of posts per thread page.

- Let users have an option to disabled embedded pictures for user avatars, signatures, and within the post itself. When images are disabled, a text hyperlink will be put in its place. However, this means that any original hyperlink on that image will be lost. Anyone with better ideas?

- Thumbnails are out, takes up unnecessary server space and cpu and bandwidth since most large pics are not on JDorama.com.

- Currently I limit display of external pictures to width of 500px. Will implement the same for signatures and avatars, but the latter will have additional height limitations. One problem is... I can't control signature height due to text unless I encapsulate it in a little frame (that I'm doing now but very ugly)

Sounds good, Genma. Here are some other bugs I noticed on the page:

Table backgrounds are too short on the "latest posts" and "dramas by season" menus. I think it'll be fixed if you set the width of the background image to "*". (IE/Firefox)

When you try to add a new drama in the "My Dramas", it won't add because of bad HTML. IE can view it fine, but I'm sure other browsers have trouble with it. (Firefox)

Google search is broken and gives a 403 Forbidden error. Taking out the "viewtopic" part of the search will most likely fix it.
