it is a new short drama almost movie, shown during 28/12 last year! It should be around 2 h only. Ancient costume story with Matsu Takako, but she is not the wife of Kimura sadly.

Anyone seen this mini-series TAIGA(samurai) drama?!? Woww!! I didn't know it has so many stars in it!! Perhaps, because it's a FujiTV's drama...^^ Come to think of it, it's a not too bad Taiga drama....stars Kimura Takuya, Fukatsu Eri, Matsu Takako, Ikeuchi Hiroyuki, the guy who played Takumi in Shotgun Marriage, one of V6 member(can't remember his name, but clearly NOT Miyake Ken^^), and just a lot of actors I used to see in J-dramas^^

KimuTaku is VERY cool as a samurai!! Especially, when he wears that Kenshin-hairstyle...cho kakkoooi!!!! Fukatsu Eri play as his wife. Matsu Takako play as the chief commander's wife, who later rebel, and in the end she becomes a widow, whom Takuya respect very much^^

There are only 3 episodes...and I would VERY glad if anyone can tell me what this Taiga drama is about?? Coz, I bought the Chinese-subbed VCD which I can't read >_< So, pls, help!!!^O^

I watched the VCD last week, I agree completely that kimura was superb. Have never seen him in a period drama before, so this was a pleasant change from all those romantic lovers he played on shows like Love Gen and Beautiful Life. One thing similar, though, is that Kimura apparently enjoys shows which depict him as a person in love more with his profession than anything else. Always so absorbed and eerting 101% in the 'manly stuff'. The show does a god examination of Jap dynastic values and samurai ethics. Though a bit slow, there is enough suspense and shots of the gorgoeus Kimura to keep eyelids from closing. Looking forward to seeing more of Kimura in such shows!

Is this the one with Miyazawa Rie and Sanada Hiroyuki?

Hmm, this story has been remade a number of times: once in 1949 (?) by Mizoguchi Kenji (The 47 Ronin) and 1960 (?) by Inagaki Hiroshi (Chushingura)... A very popluar story, neh? Smile

Agree! Chuusingura is sooooo boring....gomen ne x) Yes, I am a fan of Kimura-Matsu pair...that is also the main reason I bought it.....but it turns out boring for me..... Eri Fukatsu acted as Kimura's wife...but, there are no chemistry. Its all about rebellion. Perhaps, bcoz it is only 3 eps? So didnt give the chance for the other characters to develope....and also, it was done in a heavy-handedness....no light atmosphere, very serious......uninteresting..... But, if you're a huge fan of Kimura, it should be enjoyable to watch Kimura's action scenes....kakkoi!!^.^

Anyway, if you want to watch GOOD samurai drama, watch Shinsengumi!, NHK latest taiga drama....its goood!!^.^d I have never been a fan of taiga drama at all, all taiga dramas I've watched are boring....but I'm a fan of "Shinsengumi!" drama now!! Coz its really a good one!^_^ So many funny scenes, and the story is not all about war and/or rebellion....it has friendship and love story.....love it!
