Actress Horikita Maki has been appointed to be the image character for real estate company, �eLeoplace21�e, and will star in their new commercials.
In the CM, Horikita plays a charming single woman, who lives alone in her nice little flat. She�fs about to go out, but first she has to diligently go through her imaginary checklist; �gAll doors and windows closed, done! – Lights out, done!�h She does all that while pointing at the things with her finger. After that, she looks at herself in the mirror and says, �gMyself, done!!�h In the final scene, she faces her plant at the entranceway and says goodbye.
The director had a clear vision of what he wanted to convey through the CM and told Horikita to think of a list of all the things she would check for every morning. She doesn�ft have to say much for the CM, so the director paid even more attention to her expressions. He explained that he wanted to create an image of an enjoyable, peaceful morning and have the character seem as carefree as if she had a day off. Horikita had no trouble putting all his demands into action, and only caused one NG scene throughout the whole day of filming.
Her character in the CM comes across as a very diligent woman, but Horikita admitted that this isn�ft really the case for her actual self. She said, �gI often forget things, even if I confirm that I have everything.�h
However, that doesn�ft mean that she doesn�ft share any of her traits. She explained, �gI always check a lot of things before I go out. Rather than trying to act out a role, I just tried to remember how I usually am before going out.�h
Horikita�fs character in the CM is called the �epointing woman�f, so reporters wanted to know how she would call herself. She thought about it for a second and answered, �gAt home, I�fm basically just lazing around, so I guess you should call me �elazy woman�f.�h Her remark made everyone laugh.
The new CM of Leoplace21 with Horikita Maki will start airing in November.

Seeing as how it just aired a few days ago it wouldn't be subbed yet though I'll keep my eyes open because I want to see it subbed too, will let you know when I find it, hopefully won't have to wait until it's out on DVD. _________________

Actor Watanabe Ken and actress Horikita Maki attended a press conference of NTT DoCoMo to introduce their new �e2011-2012 Winter/Spring Models�f lineup of mobile and smart phones, as well as their newest mobile services.
Both of them have been working as image characters for NTT DoCoMo for a while now and, in the most recent commercials, disguised themselves as actual smart phones.
Horikita promoted the new models and said, �gI also was surprised how thin and light they are. The new models are stylish and useful. They�fve made a lot of progress coming up with new ways to use and to enjoy your phone. Even first time users and women will have no problems using the new models, so please don�ft hesitate and get one for yourself.�h
In total, NTT introduced 14 new smart phones, 8 new mobile phones, and some new tablets. They also revealed that four new smart phones that use the next generation high speed communication service �eXi�e, will already go on sale as early as November this year.

Horikita Maki kicks off filming for her morning drama
On November 14th, actress Horikita Maki kicked off filming for her NHK morning drama �gUmechan Sensei�h in Takahagi, Ibaraki.
�gUmechan Sensei�h is set in Kamata, Tokyo during the time of reconstruction after the Second World War. Horikita plays the protagonist, Shimomura �eUmechan�f Umeko, a cheerful and bright young doctor.
They�fve created a large-scale open set that perfectly resembles the burned up area of Kamata after the war.
Horikita commented, �gThis world is still so overwhelming, but I�fll try to get used to the postwar Japan as soon as possible. It�fs still only the beginning, but I wonder if I�fm already looking like Umechan.�h
However, she revealed that the realistic set brought up some other feelings as well. She said, �gWhen I saw this scenery for the first time, all those images from March 11 (Great Tohoku earthquake) popped back into my head. It made me really sad again. However, Umechan is such a bright and clumsy character, who makes other people laugh. Being on this set now, it suddenly feels difficult to portray her cheerfulness.�h
She continued, �gI hope we will be able to properly convey the important things of life, as well as the bonds and relationships between various individuals.�h
�gUmechan Sensei�h will start airing on April 2nd.
