Gazette Interview

the GazettE released the album DIM in July, and embarked on gthe GazettE TOUR 09-DIMSCENE-h after that, showing off their overwhelming power in many parts of the country. They even held their tour final in Saitama Super Arena in September, and released their new single BEFORE I DECAY in the beginning of October. We asked them to talk about what they saw in BEFORE I DECAY looking back at their album release and their tour, their one-man live in Tokyo Big Site on December 24th, and their future activities.

Ruki

Looking back at gthe GazettE TOUR 09-DIMSCENE-h

Ruki: I think it was an experimental tour. I thought we would break the flow from what we had done up until then, challenge ourselves to do new things, and then find something new. In our lives, the images we used played a big role. So we really did things the way we wanted to. However, I think we did not have enough live concerts, I think one more tour after the one-man tour would have been best.

What was the album DIM to you?

Ruki: I think it was very similar to the composition of our live performances. DIM was the first thing we wanted to do as a band, and it was nearest to the world view that we wanted to express. So after we made the album and did the tour, I feel like my eagerness to create has increased even more.

About the new single BEFORE I DECAY

I think it's because we made DIM that we were able to make singles. We made BEFORE I DECAY after finishing DIM and starting the tour, so we didnft have much time. (smile) So we had to keep running. Well, I donft know how long we will last. (laugh) We didnft really have time to face one another and talk about things, so I think Ifd like to do that in our next development.

About the live in Tokyo Big Site on December 24th

Ruki: We want to do it lightly since itfs a single live. But honestly speaking, I want to do a tour more than a live. (laugh) Well, I wonft say morec..(laugh)
