Thanks for these pics !!!! I've been searchin' for them for a long time. I've found two pics that I'll be postin' here soon.
This event took place in February, 2003. It's called Setsubun, a religious date wich marks the start of the spring (although spring doesn't start in February). It took place in Naritasan Temple in Narita, Chiba Prefecture (a temple related to the Ichikawa Danjuro's line of actors, to which Ebizo and his father belongs Mr Green )

Cool. Thanks for the info, Bets. Smile

Does anyone know where I can perhaps get it on VCD or where I can download the drama? I can't find it anywhere? Thanks!

As I mentioned in the other thread, you might be out of luck on the VCDs since there are so many episodes (49 total)... It took 17 DVDRs to store up that entire series... Whew. Sweat

I see.......
49 episodes is quite a bit.
I just read the book, and am very interested to see how the TV adaptation turns out.

If you've read the post in this thread from the beginning (yeah, it's a lot), the writers used Yoshikawa Eiji's book as its baseline, but they've tried to flesh out the characters a bit more and add some political intrigue as well... Some of it works, some of it doesn't, but overall, it's a very good series.... Smile

Thanks!
Yeah, the book is awesome. I guess it'll be interesting to see which parts they changed and which parts they didn't. But I'm sure whatever they altered, it was in the best interest of the drama. Can't wait to see it since the book is still fresh in my mind.
I tried reading some of the earlier posts, but didn't get to the part talking about the variations that you just mentioned. Thanks for the info!

Glad to help. If you're really thirsty for video/film on Miyamoto Musashi, check out Inagaki Hiroshi's Samurai Trilogy starring the great Mifune Toshiro...

Bets, you've gotta check out the other two movies, they're really good. And like the NHK series, there were some changes to the original story... Why screenwriters do that is beyond me... *scratches head*

FINALLY! I got ahold of the two volumes:

Bought them off of Yahoo Japan. As a treat to everyone here, here's a scan of the correlation chart I just made:

I have the book two. The first book I ordered in a book shop here in Brazil three months ago, but I haven't received it yet (they told me I'll receive it in three or four months ...).
Great scan, now I can't wait to receive my book !!!!!

Way cool, Groink!! I've been trying to hunt down these two books for ages... The only place I've seen it is at the NHK bookstore... In Japanese. Sad
