yesterday at a pet shop in Santa Monica where I get my cats' food . First, I thought I was halucinating when I saw him and it took me a second to realize it was really him. He had his daughters with him. I ignored his bodyguards and said hello Mr. Governor and went up to him to chat. There were 3 big guys in suits snd sunglasses--one inside the store and two outside.

Instead of uprooting his kids from LA and moving them to Sacraemento, just to have to move them back to LA in 3 years, he left the kids in LA and he comes home on weekends. I told him to do Terminator IV.

Funny thing if he was just a movie star he might have told me to get lost, but now he represents the people, he has to be nice , especially since I told him I voted for him. He was still in great shape--arms bigger than mine. But he didn't seem as tall (he's always been listed at 6'2") as I thought. He's the third celebrity I've seen since I've been in LA. in '99 I saw jean-Claude Van Damme in Gold's Gym in Venice, CA and last year I saw the male model Fabio in a restaurant in Sherman Oaks, CA.

Yeah, I know a few folk in the visitor industy who have seen him and say the same -- great shape, but didn't expect him to be so small. But, who's going to tell that to Der Terminator? Celebrity sightings a-plenty in Maui (where I heard you can find a Pierce Brosnan shopping at Foodland or Prince jamming w/a local [gulp!] Jawaiian band).

I used to be in awe of celebrity sighting-ness, gawk at 'em and all. Now, I just kinda' take one look, OK, I lied -- a double take, then go on my own merry way. Figure they need to dine, shop, whatever, as others must needs do as well.
