I live in GA so we have a great quaterback in Michael Vick. But, the rest of the team as usual is forgetable. We'll have another .500 season at best. I am usually a fan of a underdog team that has a chance to win like the Eagles

The big question is will Vick make it through the season injury free? That'll determine the Falcons fortunes for the most part. Smile

He'll be ok this year. He sat out long enough to recover.
When he was at Tech, he screwed up his ankle doin' a flip against James Madison...second game of the season, I think. He came back way too early, but still proceeded to go to the Sugar Bowl (I was there!) and almost beat FSU (hey man, we were winning at the end of the 3rd...damn Peter Warrick!).

Believe it or not, he wasnt that great in high school. We scrimmaged Warwick HS...and us surferguys almost beat his team. hehe
He's always had a cannon though.

I think he's going to end up like several other great Falcon Q'B' (namely Bartkowski, and Brett Favre) that took a beating every Sunday behind mediocre lines. Good for Brett the idiots traded him to Green Bay where he has won a Super Bowl.

we've got an NBA thread now too? hehe

As for those Falcons, if Vick can stay healthy then in my mind that's a playoff team right there. Big Vick is nothing short of spectacular.

Vick is like a new and improved version of Randall Cunningham, and when Vick's healthy he is perhaps the most exciting player to watch in the NFL. My only question about Vick is between his ears... does he have the brains to make the right decisions on each play... reading defenses... studying film... or will he rely too much on his astounding athletic gifts?

I thought it was incredibly cool how Vick called all the season ticket holders last year before the Falcons played his cousin's team, the New Orleans Saints, to get them to cheer extra loud so as to maximize the home field advanatage. After Atlanta won that game, Vick called back the season ticket holders to thank them. Applaud

Now that's the kind of player-interaction with the local fans that really rallies a community behind the home team. Cool!

Yea Vick is amazing. He's still young so give the kid some time to learn how to read defenses more. It took Rich Gannon a long time before he became the QB he is now. With Vick's athletic abilities, I'd say he iis probably the 2nd best QB in the league behind Peyton Manning. Anyways, someone going to start up a league? I wanna draft Vick! hehe

He is the greatest combo of speed and arm strength. Your right about him being the same type QB as Cunningham, but he is lot bigger. I still think playing on the non real turf and taking a beating every week is going dramatically shorten what should be a HAll of Fame carreer. We can only hope he's healthy. In all honesty I don't know who the other backups are, but, they weren't very good last year.

Warren

It's the cussedness of yin and yang.

You've got Vick, who is, as PC mentioned, the most exciting QB in the game.

But you've just been saddled with Mora and Knapp.

Gomen. But better you than me.

If he lives long enough, I think Vick might figure out what Steve Young finally (finnnnnnnnnnnaly) figured out. And that's that his job is to run the team. Not to run around himself.

Young talked a good game, but he didn't really get it until Mike Shanahan showed up. Before that, Holmgren sort of let him do whatever he wanted.

Shanahan fell in love with Walsh's system, once he came over from the Raiders, and I think his enthusiasm infected Young.

One note on Vick... if he lives, I don't think he can be depended on to crumble in big games the way Cunningham always did.

Your right Geezer, it took Young several years of stupid broken plays because he didn't have confidence to let the play develop, and look at the different options before running (which should be your last option).

I don't know who these coaches are and what qualifications are supposed to be, but it don't look good.

Ok I got it up. I've set up a fantasy football league on Yahoo. It's free so anyone can play. It took me like 20 minutes to get it all together so you guys BETTER join up or else Grumble HAHA j/k, it's up to you.

Anyways, we gotta draft players so the sooner everyone signs up then the better. The scoring system I left it as default but we can always change that and I played around with the 25 man roster they allow but anything can be changed to what the majority likes. I don't know how to paste a link to the league so right now all I can say is go to yahoo and sign up for fantasy football and then join the group: J-Dorama Fantasy Football!

Password: dorama

Here's the link to the fantasy football page: http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/f1

EDIT: Wait I figured out how to invite people now. Ok so just give me your email and I will send you the invite. All you gotta do is sign up for a yahoo account if you don't have one. If you don't want to paste your email here then just PM me. Now join up people! w00t!
