yep, very near only. Can find the latest dramas there.
Better to buy those that are of the brand "Tokyo-Unique". Picture quality is much better.

Me. Or else what would I be doing in this forum. Smile Yeah as someone pointed out earlier, the ban on Jdramas is being lifted -- slowly but surely. But we can expect the new price to be a lot more than what we used to pay for (Taiwan Imports). I'm willing to pay, but only if it comes in a better quality format.

The first Jdorama I watched was LG -- Love Generation. Then Hero, Omiai Kekkon. And following that a lot more others. I don't order Jdramas online simply cos I don't have a credit card, so I can only wait for the new batch of Jdramas to come in. But what's this I hear about FujiTV dramas not being subbed 'cos of a certain law? If its not subbed... then good luck to myself Smile

The fad now, as all of us in Singapore know -- is K drama. And everything Korean, basically. But I"m not exactly attracted to them. Too draggy for my liking. Heh.

Looking forward to the new batch. Smile

hey my fellow Singaporean J-dorama-addicted comrades...

I just forgot to ask in my previous post:

If I want to order J doramas online, which site would I be better off going to? Would it be the Yahoo! Taiwan Auctions (which sells what we used to get in Singapore) or CDJapan? What are the price ranges? And last but not least, is it safe? Just tell me the details. I know this sounds really unbelievable, but I haven't bought ANYTHING online before. Primarily because I have no credit card. Heh.

Just finished watching Orange Days & Itoshi Kimie. I think Itoshi Kimie was great. It can be depressing to watch, but I think it brings across a great message. Anyway I'm really glad Singapore is selling j-drama vcds again. If I had a choice, I'll prefer to buy in Singapore. At least if the vcd is faulty or watever, I can exchange it.

Hmm... I would suggest Yahoo! Taiwan Auctions as they have both VCD and DVD versions which include subs and are cheaper. (though they're supposedly pirated) I wouldn't realli suggest CDJapan unless u are willing to pay alot and are able to understand Japanese as they come without subs (as they are tailored for the Japanese market) and only in DVD versions. The plus side though is that they do however come with extra stuff like bonus discs and making of clips most of the time.

Pricewise for CDJapan, a set of FujiTV dramas may be much more expensive abt 22k yen while TBS and TVAsahi seem to be ard 19k which would be ard abt 300 ~ 400SGD not including shipping which may cost abt 60SDG. They do sell dramas per DVD too but that depends on the drama. For example, the upcoming Tokyo Wankei drama doesn't seem to sell the DVDs seperately but in a boxset while other dramas like TRICK and Orange Days can be bought separately.

Also, I heard from my friend that some of the Taiwan DVD versions do contain the extras that come with the Japanese DVD set so i guess buying from Taiwan may be a cheaper and better option. It all depends on what you want I guess.

As for whether Taiwan Yahoo! Auctions are safe I guess it's hard to tell unless u bought from the seller b4. As for CDJapan, I do buy stuff from them regularly so I can vouch for them. If you're interested in buying from them but have no credit card, they do accept debit cards, money orders and also $$ that's sent by registered post I believe. But that would be at your own risk.

You could check out more abt them from the FAQ.

Hope this helps. Mr Green

Whoa. Of course it helped! Thanks a lot. Ergh.. .I don't really think I'd be going to CDJapan anytime soon... 300-400 SGD. Did I read it right? That's very steep. I think I'd rather go to the TW auctions. Firstly as you'd pointed out, they come with subs, and maybe some extras as well, and price-wise... it's much cheaper.. eh?

Thank you once again.

P.S.: What are the exchange rates for Taiwan currency to SGD? ... and erhh.. I know this sounds retarded but how do you know what are the chinese names for the J doramas?

No prob. Mr Green As for the NT - SGD exchange rate, it would be ard 1000NT - 50SGD plus minus. As for identifying the dramas, I usually search under the name of the artistes who appear in it. Either that or i search under Jdramas, scroll though the list of dramas and search slowly. (abit tedious but it does work... hehe )

I think Naohito's always playing the role of a successful guy who had everything going for him until something happens (Itoshi kimie, g@me).
I've never finished a Korean drama before hehe I've watched Summer Scent, All In, Winter Sonata and I normally give up halfway. Anyway, I love your avatar & sig. Two of my fave actors Smile

Agreed. I have not watched a single K drama in my life simply because I couldn't get through watching ANY of the single episodes. And perhaps they've made me biased against K-dramas but honestly, do I care? U Suck hehehe. When did the fad settle in anyway...?

Anyway, yah, thanks M|rA| again. Smile

And I cannot believe why old aunties like Korean hunks. It's a bit too... scary for my liking. I've read those stories about how they go to Korea just to track them down. Wargh. So why didn't old aunties like Japanese hunks then?

Itoshi Kimi e is sold in TS, Poh Kim( Liang Court) and people are selling on Singapore Yahoo Auctions.I am not sure about the Chinese name.

Besides he also appeared in Nurse no Oshigoto 3 and 4. It is funny and not to mention he is good looking too.

As for Kassy, he made few appearance in Orange days.

Happy watching Itoshi Kimi e.I enjoyed watching it a lot.
