i would like to learn some phrases from Hakata-ben (Fukuoka ben?)
i appreciate if you teach me everyday life phrases (greetings, getting around in city..etc)

i found some at the internet, but they are few and im looking for more. what i found are:

ano sa instead of ano ne (hey, listen up...)
asoban instead of asobou (let's play)
batten instead of da kedo (but)
da ken instead of da kedo (but)
yokaroumon instead of deshou (good, don't you think?)
bari instead of totemo (very)
shitoocchan instead of shiterunda (I'm doing it)
~shitookiyo instead of shite kinasai (please do ~; used with children)
tottouto instead of tottimasu (to take)
yokka yokka instead of sou desu ne (yeah; is that so?)

so, if anyone know more than what mentioned above, can you help me please? m(_ _)m onegai shimasu!

good job of finding some hakata dialect. unfortunaltely, i don't know if anyone here in this forum has anyone associated with anyone from around that region. If there is, they haven't made that known...

BTW, ano sa is not really exclusively hakata's. i think all of JPN uses that as well. I've heard that from some people that I KNOW are not from that region. FYI.

i remember some time ago, i read some ppl in this forum saying they are from fukuoka and speak hakata-dialect. so i thought they could help me learn some Hakata-ben.

hope someone from Fukuoka or someone knows hakata-ben read this post and reply to me as well!

I visited Fukuoka (�����jbefore. Visted a friend, didn't really pick any of the dialect up though :p

Any reason you want to know it? Just curious.

hehe, someone is waiting for me in Fukuoka and i wanted to surprise him by speaking his original dialect! hehe
he speaks standard Japanese in front of me, i cannot ask him to teach me, else, how am i going to surprise him? hehe

Just wondering, do you know standard Japanese? If you do, learning a bit of Hakata-ben (������) will be much easier for you. Here are some basic rules to understanding Hakata-ben.

To form affirmative sentences, add ~bai to end of the standard Japanese sentence.
For example:
Kore wa enpitsu desu. = Kore wa enpitsu bai. (This is a pencil.)

To form interrogative sentences, add ~to to end of the standard Japanese sentence.
For example:
Sore wa pen desu ka? = Sore wa pen to? (Is that a pen?)

For adjectives only, change the last ~i of the adjective to ~ka when expressing one word.
For example:
Sore wa minikui. = Sore wa miniku ka. (That's ugly.)

For adjectives in a sentence, add ~ken to end of adjectives.
For example:
Kyou wa samui desu. = Kyou wa samui ken. (Today is cold.)

Useful words:
me = uchi
you = aatan
no = innya
yes= yoka
