in SMAP's -- PAMS 2001 concert, when Nakai was doing his solo act, on the big screen, they showed his brother(?), grandma, and father. Were those people really members of his family?

i watch 2002 concert again. oh my. lots of fans say he not sing good. well, okay, maybe true. but have to admit his performance is very good to watch. he always do something to make fans laugh and smile. that is charm. he sweet and cute. even wear bathing suit, dress like girl, strip to only wear underwear, do something not ordinary. his performance still good even if he not sing too good. when he young, he sing okay, not bad, but his voice got not good lately maybe because smoke a lot. he admit smoke 2 packs of cigarettes each day. that is lot of cigareetes. still i like see him performance. very good. always laugh and have a good time.

He smokes 2 packs of cigarettes per day ?
He should stop before it's too late ! If he carries on to smoke so much, he will die young !

Yeah, Nakai had said smokes 2 packs of cigarettes a day, sometimes he smokes a little less, it depends on the day and what he is going through. He had said this on his radio program "Some Girl SMAP".

i dont understand how can a great guy like Nakai, is still single!!@_@ He has a big heart!! aah....im willing to be his girlfriend, if no one wants him!! LOL! .....oh, but, wait, wait......nope....if i am, he'll take me to those Tokyo domes evrytime we date, and he'll make me watch baseball matches 24/7 !! noooooo..............baseball is dead-boring for me!
aah...is this why, he's still single?? LOL!

oh, i've read somewhere....when Nakai in highschool, he has a girlfriend(hmm, maybe the same girl he took when they double date with Kimura and Nakai's gf's fren who likes Kimura, in Disneyland back in the early 90s^^).
Then, one day, Nakai got a heavy illness...so he break up with his girlfriend coz, he dont want her to be sad....

My Top 3 Nakai's Dorama:

1. Suna no Utsuwa
i recommend this to ALL Jdorama fans!! Great adaptation of a book!! the drama is far much excellent than the book! i regret buying the book, haha xD great scriptwriter! great casts! Great musics by Akira Senju, the maestro composer. haha, i always thought Akira Senju resembles Eiryo Waga, since he's the real composer to SHUKUMEI, such an emotional piano piece. but noo....Akira Senju is such an ordinary yasashii, chubby oji-san!! LOL! He looks really nice! it was so funny when he went to Utaban...haha!
oh, EXCELLENT acting performance by Nakai!! should i mention more? minna have watch deshou?^^ i just thought its amazing, for a person who only learn piano for a month, to be able to ACT as a professional pianist and composer so perfectly that wins a Best Actor award!! plain sugoi!


2. Shiroi Kage
Beautiful and depth-meaning love story, great performance by Nakai and Yuko Takeuchi(great chemistry too). Lovely musics, beautiful directing, great script. Really, I love this better than Kimura's Beautiful Life!!^^
Another dark character played by Nakai here....actually, the FIRST dark character he ever played, and he was challenged here for the first time, to act a total different character from his variety shows image^^ the real story behind this drama, on why the drama is being produced in the first place, is really touching, and made me amazed with Nakai's personality. The producers were having a hard time to convincing the novelist(SKage was adapted from a novel), that Nakai will be perfect to be Naoe. But the novelist said, "Get an older actor to act Naoe, Nakai is too young. And his cheerful image in varieties will ruin Naoe character!!". But after the drama was done, the novelist apologize to Nakai in front of more than a hundred people, that he was wrong and ashamed of what he said. Yes. Totally agree. Nakai is really fantastic (sugoi) in Suna No Utsuwa. Shows off his best acting skills so far. This is my favorite Nakai show. Yes. and the music was fabulous. Senju Akira is well known for emotional pieces. He also composed for music for the soundtrack to the TV series Strawberry on the Shortcake (SOS). But his music for Suna No Utsuwa was breathtaking. Every time hear Shukumei, will think of Eiryo Waga and how scared he was of what he had done. But at the same time, it is amazing how he kept himself so well-composed and cool in front of the police officers, but then when they left, he would collapse to a child-like state full of fear and even tears. The ending was sad.

I really want to see Shiroi Kage, but have not been able to find it on video. It is completely sold out. Been to every store and it is totally sold out.

I also like Saigo No Koi (aka Last Love, aka Never Fall in Love Again). He was really young in this and although the show had kind of an immature atmosphere to it and the story was really simple. Still it was a very good show. And I liked the theme song by Oda Kazumasa. I watched this show in one day.

in a 1998 SMAPxSMAP special episode where they went to Hollywood, Los Angeles and their Bistro SMAP guest was Whoopi Goldberg. Nakai was so cute trying to speak English... he said: "We have no menu at Bistro SMAP. We cook whatever you want. What do you want us to cook for you today?" and he said it with a very thick cute accent. And he did a little impersonation of Michael Jackson. At the beginning he said her name a few times and did something that made her say "He's weird, but cute." They had a really nice conversation (thanks to the interpreter). It was funny the part when Nakai was surprised and did not believe that Whoopi is friends with Michael Jackson and former president Bill Clinton. He was like so star struck and in awe and in amazement, he looked like a kid. That was simply adorable. And she kept wanting his Bistro SMAP badge and he was very cute when he said: "Present for you." I think after that, she really liked Nakai.

Think Nakai is getting to be a very good actor. He has acted in a variety of roles and sure is getting better!

yes. totally agree with you.
wow, after i watched Suna No Utsuwa. i came to really respect him as an actor. that was a challenging role, and he did fabulous in it as Eiryo Waga. and plus, he really deserved the Best Actor award that he won.

Unfortunately I have not seen a Nakai drama. None seem to have been subbed or no one in Manila has downloaded a subbed drama. Too bad..

a friend found Nakai's Good News with English subs. Other than that a big nada. I'm dying to watch Shiroi Kage but apparently no one is making that a project yet.

it's really hard to find Japanese dramas with English subtitles. most of them are subtitled in Chinese (those are the overseas versions). and the Japan versions usually don't have subtitles, if they have subtitles, it is usually Japanese.

yeah i wish they would come out with them in English subtitles but they dont. i can read some chinese but it is kind of hard when you want to watch the action going on the screen and it is kind of annoying have to read subtitles to understand what is going on as well. but dont care long as can see a smap member in a good tv drama it is all worth it.

Nakai is really good with kids. on the Saturday program he was shown many times having to babysit children. yeah, he seems to be immature in concerts and in general, but he seriously knows how to take good care of children. i think this may be because he is an uncle (his brothers have children). i think Nakai would make a great daddy. i hope one day he will get a chance to get married and have kids of his own.

I saw him babysitting kids in SataSma and he had me right after that! I love him with kids...
