I've been playing the new Splinter Cell: Chaos theory, man this is a much better game than MGS3
I always though the mgs series is better than Splinter Cell in terms of gameplay. Splinter cell is better in terms of the stealth aspect, more real if you could say so, and in turns it makes it harder.....do you notice that if you get spotted in splinter cell is the same as game over, whereas in MGS you still have a considerable chance of surviving.
And SC (splinter Cell) has a slow-pace...i mean, seriously you can spend hours trying to finish a mission, esp. if you have to restart from the checkpoint, which is far away from where you died.
Also SC isnt as involving as MGS, in MGS with all the cut-scenes and the cinematic gameplay....you feel the urge to finish the game, there is this 'driving force' which makes u want to keep playing through the night..y'know. I always have a hard time completing SC...i often get bored midway , heck i dont even know what's the story of Splinter Cell (the 1st game)
Anyway..that's only my opinion...apparently pc-gamers tend to prefer Splinter Cell, maybe it's easier with a mouse+keyboard??? I'm a console-user, my computer's to outdated to play pc games

Sounds good I'll probably get that one. I just recently have been playing Brothers in Arms, Tekken tag tournament, Tekken 4, Tekken 5, and Star Wars Republic Commando all really great games.

Don't get me wrong, I totally loved the old Metal Gear games and MGS1 must be one of the finest games I ever played, but MGS2-3 were just no fun to me. I described why I didn't like MGS3 in this thread earlier I didn't judge the entire series vs one other. I think SC1 was dull and slow.
SC3 is great because the game keeps on improving, with MGS I can't say the game has evolved at all. I felt at home immediately in SC3, while MGS3 you get overloaded with story, movies and the nasty phonecalls you name it - I was too annoyed and didn't bother to play on.
I agree that gaming should be done on a console, I only play FPS and warcraft games on my PC.
Project Snowblind is a nice FPS, but sadly I left it alone when I got Timesplitters 3

About where gaming should be done...I disagree about most gaming being done on consoles.... I was just a PC gamer until recently, and there are things you can do on the PC that you can never do on a console. Morrowind comes to mind. But I guess it's just a personal preference. _________________

Anyone looking forward to Jade Empire? First I'd need an X-box to play it....
But really, I'd like a good Bioware rpg set in Japan . Maybe something set in the pre-historical era instead of a more obvious choice like sengoku jidai. _________________

Yup, if there's one Xbox game on my "what are you looking forward to" list it must be Jade Empire. Looks really promising after I played the demo, so hopefully it won't be disappointing.

I really didn't like the X-box when it first came out, because it seemed to be ripping off games that belonged on the PC. Plus, Microsoft had that big sweaty bald yell guy promoting it. I never got an X-box because it really didn't have the types of games I usually play...exceptions were mainly KOTOR.
I heard the PS3 is supposed to be a powerhouse and as easy to program for as the X-box, so I'm waiting to see how that turns out. _________________
