I have some concerns about giving credits to people who provide the original news/links/etc. I noticed that some people in this forum take news/links/etc from elsewhere (other forums) and re-post them here without providing credits.

This may not seem like a big deal, but think about those people who actually went out their way to get the news/link etc. I really thought they desirve to be mentioned since they are the ones that spend all their time looking for news/links/etc to post in the first place.

What are the rules in this forum regarding crediting?

As far as I know, there are no guidelines on this.

I don't think anyone here is posting said informaion for profit or personal gain, so I don't think it's a problem... Also, isn't the information on the 'net public domain?

Hi there,

I must have missed your earlier post... Sorry. Sweat

That's sort of odd that you would get a message that you had a PM, but yet there was nothing there...

I'll send you a PM as a test.... Let me know if you got it or not... Big Grin

mods,

A small gripe from a former regular here. Pls bear with me.

You do guys do a great job no doubt, but pls lighten up when it comes to newbies making unnecessary threads.

I understand that it is pretty annoying but you have to understand that jdorama is unique as one of the very few forums that doesn't purge old threads for some wierd reason.

Most other forums have no problems with making as many new threads as wanted, and most people have that in mind when they come here new. So please, be more tolerant and tactful.

It would nice to see you lot do away with the " Bloody Hell, can't the lot of you effing READ the damn ANNOUNCEMENTS?? LOOK UP THE OLD THREADS FOR ****'s SAKE" attitude basically. You can almost smell the condescendence in every locked thread.

I know it is there for a reason. But you have to be honest to yourself. How many people do you expect to spend time actually reading it instead of jumping straight into conversation about their fave artistes?? When I joined there wasn't even an announcement thread there anyways. So it's a pretty recent rule I take it.

Again i stress. You lot have been chosen to be moderators by virtue of your attitude and friendliness on the whole. If you think you can't handle being a moderator as well as being nice to newbies at the same time, then maybe it's time to let someone else bring fresh spirit into the forum.

Perhaps at times all of us have been harsh at one time or another.
However, I do not beleive that any of us has taken this approach...

If at one time or another, people feel as though this is the undertone that we're taking, I assure you all that it is not. I apologize on my and the other mods' behalf and we will be more careful in the way we post to prevent any misunderstandings (to the best of our ability, of course) from now on.

However, one thing that I DO NOT apologize for is requesting users to utilize the announcement thread and search engine before creating a topic. It is there for a reason, and I see nothing wrong with requesting that users utilize them.
