Hello, been reading here for the longest time. Just got registered.
So hello to everyone. Big Grin

I also stlill watch J-Dramas and only J-Dramas. It's for Life, LOL.
Currently watching Engine, Anego and Ruri no shima, 3 of the better dramas for this season.

I am also quite puzzled by the price-hike in TS lately. I think it's pretty ridiculous, a 50% increase, and to pay like $29.90 for 8 discs drama is too steep. Good that I don't depend on the local market to get dramas nowadays. But I still feel that it's a shame for things to go this way.

Such a long rant as a first post, I shall stop here.
Looking forward to some discussions with you guys/gals.

Cheers

Hmm, I think this thread should be in the General Discussion forum, not the J-drama forum...

I think I'm gonna move it... Sweat

Great! Just when my wallet's feeling tight. LoL!

Maybe its the way the Japanese do their dramas. I find Korean ones too saddening already. Taiwanese ones are cheesy... Japanese ones have the right amount of comedy, action, romance all mixed in. Not too much of each.

There are always more surprises. I can always guess whats gonna happen in our local dramas too easily already. rofl

It's cheaper to import Japanese albums and singles...Local HMV is a rip off and you have to wait SO LONG....
I do hope everyone is boycotting TS's price hike...>_< sigh

LoL! Lucky for me I'm still watching the older titles. Can borrow/rent them easily... Bleah

I'm just worried over the OSTs. Not easy to find... HMV's pretty expensive too.

Yes, I also hava some back log of last few seasons' dramas to catch up, not to mention the current season. And it's a good thing that I can undestand Japanese, so I don't really need the sub-titles.

OST should also cost less importing straight from Japan or if you have friends going, can check the 2nd hand shops there. Generally if you are talking about Japan version of CD/DVD, it's usually cheaper to buy online. I do that all the time.

Altho its my first post here in this thread but I'm going to whine!

lol

Yeah! HMV burns a big hole in your wallet! They have albums selling in prices a whole higher than other stores! I saw a HATACHI album a few days ago, which is out like 3 years ago? I bought it at 16 bucks, HMV is seling at 54 bucks! I even got a giant poster by paying 16 bucks.

And I went there to look for albums by Oshio Manabu's band, LIV.
An album 2 years ago is selling at 72 bucks! And a single is 30 bucks! ARGH! Shameful Cry There goes my pocket money... And I'm like, oh man... No choice...

Well, hope I didn't whine too much, lol.

maybe the version u bought is from taiwan one.. tat's y it's cheaper.. As for the $54 album in HMV.. that one could be imported from Japan.. Tat's y it's more expensive..

I bought V6 - Volume 6 at Cd-rama and cost me ard 20 buck.. whereas I went to HMV (CityLink) and see the same album, with the same cover except that it's imported from Japan cost around 60 buck! Shocked wow! such a big difference..! Doh!

However, I agree with u all the HMV is charging $2 - $5 higher cost as compared to Cd-Rama, Sembawang Music Store and other music stores.. But i still like to go there to shop for CDs, coz they have a huge collection of Cds there and I can stay in there for hours.. hehe

Japan press is definitely more pricey. An album cost 3059Y with tax-in -> 49SGD (without postage) But the Japan press is better in quality than asia version (do comparison of the disc etc) and also for the authenticity. LOL

For the artists I really like, I only buy the Japan press. The dvds I want are not avaliable outside Japan anyway. So I have no choice.

And since I go to Japan almost every year, I tend to pick up other stuff I wanted from 2nd hand stores, usually get very good buys.
