I watched the show from then to now I am waiting for the episode where Katsuragi meets up with Robbie again. They just broke up(Robbie and Sakura) Can't wait for sunday to see what happens Bang Head

SPOILERS
I have very ambivalent feelings about this series. On the positive side, I thought some of the minor characters were very engaging--the way Sakura's maternal grandparents interacted with each other, for example, reminded me of how some of my relatives behave. I was glad to see Konishiki make an appearance although I wished he had more lines. There were a number of humorous situations--for example, Momo chasing after Mr. Sawada. I thought the actress who played Sakura was very cute and did a pretty good job; her character, however, became more and more wishy-washy as the series started to wind down to the point where, if there had been a 157th episode, I wouldn't have been surprised if she changed her mind again.
What really offended me, however, was the series' totally inaccurate and thoroughly insulting portrayal of Hawaii's Japanese-Americans' attitude about WWII. This series would have you believe that Japanese-Americans in Hawaii were torn in their loyalties after the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. This is absolutely false. Japanese-Americans were shocked and angry about the attack on Pearl Harbor. They were Americans and thought of themselves as Americans, despite all the years of Japanese language schools they attended in the afternoons after regular school was over, despite all the Obon dances and judo lessons and Boys Day celebrations and other rituals and customs their parents brought over from Japan. There was never any doubt about the fact that Japan was their enemy and America was their country. That's why when Japanese-Americans were finally allowed to serve in the U.S. military during the war, thousands from Hawaii rushed to volunteer, many with the consent and approval of their parents, the Issei who originally immigrated from Japan. Even kibei (Japanese-Americans who were sent to Japan to be educated before returning back to Hawaii) had no doubts about their loyalty towards the United States, and a number of them also enlisted. This idea of Japanese-Americans torn in their loyalties is total bulls**t, and is only just one of a series of misleading ideas and representations of Japanese-Americans in Hawaii in this series. This reminded me of those controversies involving Japanese textbooks where historical truths were omitted or revised to show Japan in a better light. Well, you don't have to read a Japanese textbook to see how history has been twisted; just watch this series.

It just finished in New York. It's long, long over in Japan, Hawaii, and California.

Don't feel bad Space Godzilla I missed it too. I was out of town and my tape malfunctioned. Grumble Oh well!!! You can always read about the ending at Japan-Guide.com in the "Sakura" discussion. They start talking about the ending on page 47. Here take a look:

What card captor sakura episode is this? I have only seen a clip of this episode. Sakura is hanging onto a tree and it's windy and Syaoran is walking toward the wind. I think it's the Storm card. What episode is this?

I don't believe you are talking about th same Sakura. This is an asadora about a Japanese American girl who visits her family in Japan. Happily it is available in the trading circles. Victory! Peace!

I enjoyed the performance by shiho Takano very much in Sakura.

I think the problem with this series was that it had the misfortune to be scheduled right after Churasan. At first I had trouble focusing on this drama since I was still going thru Churasan withdrawal.

For those who are also going thru Churasan withdrawal, I started a Kuninaka Ryoko gallery to help you out Big Grin
