Hello. I followed instructions on another forum to type in japanese a while ago, and everything was working fine. But now, something is messed up with it.

When i type in "bingo" with my keyboard, instead of "�т�" i get�@"���ɂ݂���".

I even tried undoing it and following the steps in the sticky on this forum, but it didn't work.
Could someone please help me with this? It's really been bothering me. Thanks!

PS: it's not only the word "bingo" i have trouble with, it's anything i try to type

It sounds like you have it set for a Japanese keyboard like below:

You should set it to use an English keyboard, and then have the Japanese language support installed as described in that Sticky mentioned above. Then you should be able to type phonetically.

alright. I checked my settings and under japanese for keyboard it says i have "japanese input system(MS-IME2002)". I also know that it thinks i have a jp keyboard, but i'm not sure why. Any ideas? Thanks.

Oh, and i forgot to say that after i messed around with some stuff, my language bar no longer has all the buttons it's supposed to on it. I've had trouble with this before too. So if you could help with that too i'd appreciate it.

You probably have it set for KANA input instead of RO-MAJI input.
Try this:

Click tool box on Language Bar.

Click "Properties."

Click "General" tab.

Where it says "Kana/Ro-maji input," make sure "Romaji (might be "Direct" or something like that" is selected.
