Hmm.. after watching that interview + short clip, I'm really not sure if I'm liking Inoue Mao's tsukushi. There isn't an air of likability about her, whereas I always imagined tsukushi as a kind AND strong girl. I just don't see this girl acting kind and sweet and all that towards her friends. Oh well, I'll just have to wait and see.

You know, I thought the same thing when I first saw Meteor Garden. I thought that the F4 were not cute at all, which totally messed up the story and the Barbie Hsu/Xu didn't look like she was able to hold Tsukushi's part, but then they did well and I just grew to like them. Eventually, I found that the characters they play makes them likeable and cute. They themselves as actors and actresses are a different story, but them in the characters they play, makes them likeable. Honestly, when I first saw Jun, I thought he shouldn't be Tsukasa, mainly because Tsukasa in the anime/manga is big and buff. Very manly-ish and mean looking. (no offense to Jun what so ever) Jun looks like a cute guy that wouldn't hurt a fly. But I won't judge him as an actor until I see the shows. So who knows, these actors and actresses may just steal your hearts if they play their parts right. Just like the characters in the manga/anime did with us. They are the same characters, just different faces. ^_^
tho I had to laugh at the end of the CM because she looked so funny... DON'T PUSH ME!!!

yeah I get what you're saying. I mean I think Barbie Xu did a pretty good job with the role, and it'd be interesting to see another actress's interpretation of the character.
Mao looks the part. I don't think Tsukushi is supposed to be strikingly beautiful. She's supposed to have sort of a combative, strong-willed character. It looks like she naturally has these attributes. Though they could have picked a more well-known actress, I think the casting director knew what he was doing.

i just watch the 3 minutes cm and guess what jun with that look is so kakkoi...
i never watch him in an angry character..
in gokusen, he's more likely to be cool and smart but in HYD he's totally diff...
looking forward to watch him..
he's so snobish and whether my eyes are lying to me but he did look a bit buff and chubby...
really love the part where the girl start to pick fight with him.. suggoi..
hanazawa rui played by oguri shun is so great...
he's really good in it..

Yeah Tsukushi is a strong-willed girl, and Mao does look combative and ready for a fight, but she seems to always have this "I'm better than everyone here" scowl. I guess you could say she's supposed to be like that, but if I remember correctly, Tsukushi didnt start off all combative, only after repeated bullying from the others did she started fighting back.
And while I think Mao isn't ugly... they really could've picked a more charismatic actress to play the lead role.

its a single from arashi entitled wish... quite jovial and happy theme song though..
but anything with arashi, count me in...
btw, just discover sad news of oguri shun...
it seems like he's really serious with the morning musume girl...

why is it "sad" news? it's great news for Shun, and Mari too. I hope they will be happy together, and people won't be horrible to them.
if u think it's sad that shun has a girlfriend, how do u feel about mao getting to kiss both shun AND jun? it happens in the manga, so, if they are going for authenticity...it will happen in the dorama!!!

first i think Mao is good for the role... I like dher in what I watched... Tsukishi isn't a hot girl... it's a next door girl... her strong point is her personality... And well, like I said,I like what I saw so far in the previews... But till the first episode in only two days(OMG can't wait *_*!) I can't really say much more..
I like most of the cast...
not happy at all with Shizuka... Shizuka is the one who should be incredebly beautiful... and well, the photo f her in the official site of the dorama... *sigh* I don't see her that incredible ...
And well.. Also akira....I don't like what I saw so far.. maybe that the actor has short hair doesn't help at all... but.. I don't like him as Akira... --_--
And second @ sallychang... Don't be sad or angry or whatever you are feeling... Mari is a great person... Shun is happy so his fans should be happy for him...
I personally hope they last specially and can be happy firever...*sappy mode on* xDDDDD....
Oh well.. and yeah.. Makino should kiss them.... not see ther eason of why be angry or annoyed over it.. they are actors after all :p xDDD

Why don't they have Matsujun's pic on the page whereas they have every other castmember shown?? Maybe they think he's the one we all want to see the most??

agreed.. i cant believe that he cant even be in pics when he's the main character of the drama!!!
and i dunno, i only like two of the f4... heh, aka jun and shun.. i just dont think the other two really look right for the role... but i dunno, maybe their performances will blow me off my feet (i hope )
