Just wanted to clear this up. The actual title [in japanese] of Hana Yori Dango is �u�Ԃ��j�q�v which in English is "Boys over Flowers". The traditional way of saying boys in this sense is �u�j���v meaning, male person. The traditional reading of �j�q is Danshi meaning boy or male. So it all makes sense; different reading, same meaning.
It confuses alot of people, including my japanese speaking friend. I had to write it out for him to understand the meaning of the title. Because like how KeepMeCaffein8td thought, was the same way my friend thought it was: Dango as in �u�c�q�v Sweet, Japanese Dumpling.
As you can see in this picture [if you look closely, sorry, i couldnt find a larger picture] Dango [�j�q] is written in Furigana [reading] so no confusion would arise.

It does! Thanks so much. Ahh, my kanji is so bad (worse than Domyoji's ) I need the Hurigana- which i haven't seen until now. Ok, that's cool. I got confused with all the different "translations" running around. Thanks again.

WTF?????? is the writer crazy or just plainly stoopid???? [need an extra HUGE glasses for her...] OGURI SHUN IS simply GORGEOUS!!! and the acting talent is waaaaayyy beyond the person in taiwan version...
all of the cast in HYD are much BETTER!!! in terms of acting and faces...right???
I'm sooOOOOOOooo with ya, Chokoreto_Gal... Shun can pull off that brooding dreamer look better than the Taiwanese Vic Zhou (i like both of them as Rui though ). The journalist sure is quick to pass judgement on the show based on just 1-2 episodes. Where acting is concerned, the Japanese cast definitely tops that. But she sure is right that MatsuJun's build doesn't quite cut the doumyoji look... Taiwanese Barbie did do a good job as Tsukushi... but i somehow still prefer Inoe Mao... She's able to portray more of the fiesty, tough girl which Tsukushi is... Barbie comes across as the weak damsel in distress at times... In terms of looks, the Taiwanese cast was a good-looking bunch... they just lacked the acting skills...
